Isaiah 59 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Han (behold), Yahawah () yad (hand) is not shortened, that it can't yashai (salvation); neither his azan (ear) kabad (heavy), that it can't shamai (hearken / hear):

But your iwan (guilt/iniquity) have badal (separated) bayan (between) you and your Alahayam (), and your chataah (sin) have sathar (hidden) his panayam (face) from you, so that he will not shamai (hearken / hear).

For your kap (hands) are gaal (defiled) with dam (blood), and your atzabai (fingers) with iwan (guilt/iniquity); your shapah (lips) have dabar (word / matter) shaqar (lies), your lashawan (tongue / language) hagah (mutters) iwal (wickedness).

None sues in tzadaq (righteous / just / fair), and none shapat (judge / judgement) in amawanah (truth): they batach (trust) in thahaw (formless), and dabar (word / matter) shawaa (vanity); they harah (conceive) imal (mischief), and yalad (birth / begot) forth awan (iniquity).

They baqai (hatch) tzapai (adders)’ bayatzay (eggs), and weave the ikabayash (spider's) qawar (web): he who akal (eat) of their bayatzay (eggs) mawath (death); and that which is zawarah (crushed) baqaiw (breaks) out into a apaih (viper).

Their qawar (webs) shall not become bagad (garments), neither shall they kasah (cover) themselves with their maishay (works): their maishay (works) are maishay (works) of awan (iniquity), and the pail (act) of chamas (violence) is in their kap (hands).

Their ragal (feet / foot) rawatz (run) to rai (evil), and they mahar (make) haste to shapak (shed) naqay (innocent) dam (blood): their machashabawath (thoughts) are machashabawath (thoughts) of awan (iniquity); shad (desolation) and shabar (destruction) are in their masalah (paths).

The darak (way) of shalawam (peace / safety) they don't yadai (know); and there is no mashapat (justice) in their maigal (goings): they have iqash (made) them crooked nathayab (paths); whoever darak (goes) therein does not yadai (know) shalawam (peace / safety).

Therefore is mashapat (justice) rachaq (far) from us, neither does tzadaqah (righteousness) nashag (overtake) us: we qawah (gather/wait) for awar (light), but, behold, chashak (darkness); for nagahah (brightness), but we halak (move) in obscurity.

We gashash (grope) for the qayar (wall) like the iwar (blind); yes, we gashash (grope) as those who have no iyanayam (eyes): we kashal (stumble / stagger) at noonday as in the nashap (twilight); among those who are lusty we are as mawath (death) men.

We hamah (great uproar) all like dabayam (bears), and moan bitterly like yawanayam (doves): we qawah (gather/wait) for mashapat (justice), but there is none; for yashawaih (salvation), but it is rachaq (far) off from us.

For our pashai (transgressions) are rabah (multiplied) before you, and our chataah (sin) inah (answer / respond) against us; for our pashai (transgressions) are with us, and as for our iwan (guilt/iniquity), we yadai (know) them:

Pashai (transgressing) and kachash (denying) Yahawah (), and nasag (turning) away from following our Alahayam (), dabar (word / matter) ishaq (oppression) and sarah (revolt), harah (conceiving) and hagah (uttering) from the lab (heart) dabaray (words) of falsehood.

Mashapat (justice) is nasag (turned) away backward, and tzadaqah (righteousness) imad (stands) rachawaq (afar) off; for amath (truth) is kashal (stumble / stagger) in the rachab (street), and nakachah (uprightness) can't bawaa (bring).

Yes, amath (truth) is idar (lacking); and he who sawar (departs) from rai (evil) shalal (makes) himself a prey. Yahawah () raah (see) it, and it displeased him that there was no mashapat (justice).

He raah (see / saw) that there was no ayash (man / husband), and shamam (wondered) that there was no pagai (intercessor): therefore his own zarawai (arm) brought yashai (salvation) to him; and his tzadaqah (righteousness), it upheld him.

He labash (put) on tzadaqah (righteousness) as a sharayawan (breastplate), and a kawabai (helmet) of yashawaih (salvation) on his raash (head); and he labash (put) on bagaday (garments) of naqam (vengeance) for thalabashath (clothing), and was itah (clad) with qanaah (zeal) as a maiyal (mantle).

Il (over) to their gamalawath (deeds), accordingly he will shalam (repay), chamah (wrath) to his tzar (oppressor / distressor), gamawal (recompense) to his ayab (enemy); to the ayayam (islands) he will shalam (repay) gamawal (recompense).

So shall they yaraa (fear / be afraid) the sham (name) of Yahawah () from the mairab (west), and his kabawad (glory) from the mazarach (rising) of the shamash (sun); for he will bawaa (come) as a rushing stream, which the rawach (spirit / wind) of Yahawah () drives.

“A gaal (redeemer) will bawaa (come) to Tzayawan (Zion), and to those who shawab (turn back / repent) from disobedience in Yaiqab (Jacob),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().

“As for me, this is my barayath (covenant) with them,” amar (spoke) Yahawah (). “My rawach (spirit / wind) who is on you, and my dabar (word / matter) which I have shawam (place / establish / appoint) in your pah (mouth), shall not depart out of your pah (mouth), nor out of the pah (mouth) of your zarai (seed), nor out of the pah (mouth) of your zarai (seed's) zarai (seed),” amar (spoke) Yahawah (), “from henceforth and iwalam (forever).”
