Isaiah 7 — English–Hebrew Parallel

It happened in the yamay (days) of Achaz (Ahaz) the ban (son) of Yawatham (Jotham), the ban (son) of Izayah (Uzziah), malak (king) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), that Ratzayan (Rezin) the malak (king) of Aram (Syria), and Paqach (Pekah) the ban (son) of Ramalayahaw (Remaliah), malak (king) of Yashar-Al (Israel), ilah (go up / offer) up to Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) to malachamah (war) against it, but yakal (could) not lacham (prevail) against it.

It was nagad (told) the bayath (house) of Dawad (David), amar (said), “Aram (Syria) is allied with Aparayam (Ephraim).” His labab (heart) trembled, and the labab (heart) of his im (nation / people), as the itzay (trees) of the yair (forest) tremble with the rawach (spirit / wind).

Then Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Yashaiyah (Isaiah), “yatzaa (go out / come out) out now to qaraah (meet) Achaz (Ahaz), you, and Shaarayashawab (Shearjashub) your ban (son), at the qatzah (end / extremity / border) of the thailah (conduit) of the ilayawan (Ilayawan) barakah (pool), on the masalah (highway) of the kabas (fuller's) shadah (field).

Amar (said) him, ‘Be careful, and keep calm. Don't be yaraa (fear / be afraid), neither let your heart be rakak (faint) because of these shanayam (two) zanabawath (tails) of ishan (smoking) torches, for the charay (fierce) ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) of Ratzayan (Rezin) and Aram (Syria), and of the ban (son) of Ramalayahaw (Remaliah).

Because Aram (Syria), Aparayam (Ephraim), and the ban (son) of Ramalayahaw (Remaliah), have plotted rai (evil) amar (said) you, saying,

“Let's ilah (go up / offer) up against Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), and tear it apart, and let's baqai (divide) it among ourselves, and malak (king) up a malak (king) in its thawak (midst), even the ban (son) of Tabaal (Tabeel).”

Kah (this) is what the Adanay () Yahawah () amar (spoke): “It shall not qawam (rise up), neither shall it happen.”

For the raash (head) of Aram (Syria) is Damashaq (Damascus), and the raash (head) of Damashaq (Damascus) is Ratzayan (Rezin); and within shashayam (sixty) - chamash (five) shanah (years) Aparayam (Ephraim) shall be broken in pieces, so that it shall not be a im (nation / people);

And the raash (head) of Aparayam (Ephraim) is Shamarawan (Samaria), and the raash (head) of Shamarawan (Samaria) is Ramalayahaw (Remaliah's) ban (son). If you will not aman (believe / have faith), aman (believe / have faith) you shall not be established.’”

Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) again to Achaz (Ahaz), amar (spoke),

“Shaal (ask) a awath (sign / mark / miracle) of Yahawah () your Alahayam (); shaal (ask) it either in the imaq (depth), or in the gabah (height) mail (top/above).”

But Achaz (Ahaz) amar (spoke), “I will not shaal (ask), neither will I nasah (tempt) Yahawah ().”

He amar (spoke), “shamai (hearken / hear) now, bayath (house) of Dawad (David). Is it not enough for you to try the patience of anashayam (men), that you will try the patience of my Alahayam () also?

Therefore the Adanay () himself will nathan (give) you a awath (sign / mark / miracle). Behold, the ilamah (virgin) will harah (conceive), and yalad (birth / begot) a ban (son), and shall qaraa (called) his sham (name) Imanawaal (Immanuel).

He shall akal (eat) chamaah (butter) and dabash (honey) when he yadai (knows) to maas (refuse) the rai (evil), and bachar (choose) the tawab (good / proper function).

For before the nair (child) yadai (knows) to maas (refuse) the rai (evil), and bachar (choose) the tawab (good / proper function), the adamah (land) whose shanayam (two) malak (king) you qawatz (abhor) shall be forsaken.

Yahawah () will bawaa (come) on you, on your im (nation / people), and on your ab (father) bayath (house), yamayam (days) that bawaa (come) not come, from the yawam (day) that Aparayam (Ephraim) sawar (departed) from Yahawadah (Judah); even the malak (king) of Ashawar (Assyria).

It will happen in that yawam (day) that Yahawah () will whistle for the zabawab (fly) that is in the uttermost part of the yaaray (rivers) of Matzarayam (Egypt), and for the dabawarah (bee) that is in the aratz (Earth/land) of Ashawar (Assyria).

They shall bawaa (bring), and shall all nawach (rest) in the bathah (desolate) nachalay (valleys), in the clefts of the salaiyam (rocks), on all naitzawatz (thorn) hedges, and on all pastures.

In that yawam (day) the Adanay () will galach (shave) with a thair (razor) that is shakayarah (hired) in the parts ibar (beyond) the nahar (river), even with the malak (king) of Ashawar (Assyria), the raash (head) and the shair (hair) of the ragalayam (feet); and it shall also sapah (consume) the zaqan (beard).

It shall happen in that yawam (day) that a ayash (man / husband) shall chayah (keep) alive a young igalah (cow), and shanayam (two) tzaan (sheep);

And it shall happen, that because of the rab (abundance) of chalab (milk) which they shall give he shall akal (eat) chamaah (butter): for everyone will akal (eat) chamaah (butter) and dabash (honey) that is yathar (left) in the midst of the aratz (Earth/land).

It will happen in that yawam (day) that every maqawam (place) where there were a alap (thousand) gapan (vines) at a alap (thousand) kasap (silver) shekels, shall be for shamayar (briers) and shayath (thorns).

People will bawaa (bring) there with chatzayam (arrows) and with qashath (bow), because all the aratz (Earth/land) will be shamayar (briers) and shayath (thorns).

All the harayam (hills) that were cultivated with the hoe, you shall not bawaa (bring) there for yaraah (fear) of shamayar (briers) and shayath (thorns); but it shall be for the mashalawach (sending) forth of oxen, and for the maramas (treading) of shah (sheep).”
