But it happened after a yawam (day), in the time of chatah (wheat) qatzayar (harvest), that Shamashawan (Shamashawan / Samson) paqad (visit) his ayashah (woman / wife) with a young goat; and he amar (said), “I will bawaa (bring) in to my ayashah (woman / wife) into the room.” But her ab (father) wouldn't allow him to bawaa (bring) in.
Her ab (father) amar (said), “I most certainly amar (said) that you had shanaa (hate) shanaa (hate) her; therefore I nathan (give) her to your marai (companion). Isn't her younger achawath (sister) more tawab (good / proper function) than she? Please take her, instead.”
Shamashawan (Shamashawan / Samson) amar (said) to them, “paim (this) time I will be naqah (clean/innocent) in regard of the Palashathay (Philistines), when I rai (harm) them.”
Shamashawan (Shamashawan / Samson) yalak (went) and lakad (caught) shalawash (three) maah (hundred) foxes, and laqach (take / seize) torches, and panah (turn) zanab (tail) to zanab (tail), and shawam (place / establish / appoint) a lapayad (torch) in the thawak (midst) between every shanayam (two) zanabawath (tails).
When he had bair (set) the lapayadayam (brands) on ash (fire), he shalach (send) them go into the standing grain of the Palashathay (Philistines), and burnt up both the gadayash (shocks) and the standing grain, and also the zayath (olive) groves.
Then the Palashathay (Philistines) amar (said), “Who ishah (make) done this?” They amar (said), “Shamashawan (Shamashawan / Samson), the son-in-law of the Thamanay (Timnite), because he has laqach (take / seize) his ayashah (woman / wife), and nathan (give) her to his marai (companion).” The Palashathay (Philistines) ilah (go up / offer) up, and burnt her and her ab (father) with ash (fire).
Shamashawan (Shamashawan / Samson) amar (said) to them, “If you behave like zaath (this), naqam (surely) I will be avenged of you, and achar (other) that I will chadal (cease).”
He nakah (struck) them shawaq (hip) and yarak (thigh) with a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) makah (slaughter): and he yarad (went) down and lived in the cleft of the salai (rock) of Iyatam (Etam).
Then the Palashathay (Philistines) ilah (go up / offer) up, and chanah (encamped) in Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), and natash (spread) themselves in Lachay (Lehi).
The ayash (man / husband) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) amar (said), “Why have you ilah (go up / offer) up amar (said) us?” They said, “We have ilah (go up / offer) up to asar (bind) Shamashawan (Shamashawan / Samson), to ishah (make) to him as he ishah (make) done to us.”
Then shalawash (three) alap (thousand) ayash (man / husband) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) yarad (went) down to the cleft of the salai (rock) of Iyatam (Etam), and amar (said) to Shamashawan (Shamashawan / Samson), “Don't you yadai (know) that the Palashathay (Philistines) are mashalayam (rulers) over us? What then is this that you ishah (make) done to us?” He amar (said) to them, “As they ishah (make) to me, so ishah (make) I done to them.”
They amar (said) to him, “We have yarad (come) down to asar (bind) you, that we may nathan (give) you into the yad (hand) of the Palashathay (Philistines).” Shamashawan (Shamashawan / Samson) amar (said) to them, “shabai (swear / take oath) to me that you will not pagai (fall) on me yourselves.”
They amar (said) to him, amar (said), “No; but we will asar (bind) you asar (fast), and nathan (give) you into their yad (hand); but mawath (death) we will not mawath (death) you.” They asar (bound) him with shanayam (two) chadash (new) ibathayam (ropes), and ilah (go up / offer) him up from the salai (rock).
When he bawaa (come) to Lachay (Lehi), the Palashathay (Philistines) rawai (shouted) as they met him: and the rawach (spirit / wind) of Yahawah () tzalach (came) mightily on him, and the ibathayam (ropes) that were on his zarawai (arms) became as pashathah (flax) that was burnt with ash (fire), and his asawar (bands) dropped from off his yad (hand).
He matzaa (found) a fresh jawbone of a donkey, and shalach (send) forth his yad (hand), and laqach (take / seize) it, and nakah (struck) a alap (thousand) ayash (man / husband) therewith.
Shamashawan (Shamashawan / Samson) amar (said), “With the jawbone of a donkey, chamarathayam (heaps) on chamarathayam (heaps); with the jawbone of a donkey I have nakah (struck) a alap (thousand) ayash (man / husband).”
It happened, when he kalah (complete / finish) made an end of dabar (word / matter), that he shalak (cast) away the jawbone out of his yad (hand); and that maqawam (place) was qaraa (called) Ramathalachay (Ramath Lehi).
He was very tzamaa (thirsty), and qaraa (called) on Yahawah (), and amar (spoke), “You nathan (give) given this gadawal (very great/important/mighty) thashawaih (deliverance) by the yad (hand) of your ibad (servant); and now shall I mawath (death) for tzamaa (thirst), and napal (fall / be cast down) into the yad (hand) of the iral (uncircumcised)?”
But Alahayam () split the makathash (hollow) place that is in Lachay (Lehi), and mayam (Waters) yatzaa (go out / come out) out of it. When he had shathah (drinks), his rawach (spirit / wind) shawab (turn back / repent) again, and he chayah (revived): therefore its sham (name) was qaraa (called) Iyanahaqawaraa (En Hakkore), which is in Lachay (Lehi), to this yawam (day).
He shapat (judge / judgement) Yashar-Al (Israel) in the yamay (days) of the Palashathay (Philistines) isharayam (twenty) shanah (years).
