Leviticus 15 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) to Mashah (Moses) and to Aharawan (Aaron), amar (spoke),

2 “Dabar (word / matter) to the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel), and amar (said) them, ‘When any ayash (man / husband) zawab (flow) a discharge from his bashar (flesh), because of his discharge he is tamaa (unclean).

3 This shall be his tamaah (uncleanness) in his discharge: whether his bashar (flesh) rawar (runs) with his discharge, or his bashar (flesh) has chatham (stopped) from his discharge, it is his tamaah (uncleanness).

4 “‘Every mashakab (bed) whereon he who zawab (flow) the discharge shakab (lies) shall be tamaa (unclean); and everything he yashab (inhabit/dwell) on shall be tamaa (unclean).

5 Ayash (man / husband) touches his mashakab (bed) shall kabas (wash) his clothes, and bathe himself in mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

6 He who yashab (inhabit/dwell) on anything whereon the man who zawab (flow) the discharge yashab (inhabit/dwell) shall kabas (wash) his clothes, and bathe himself in mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

7 “‘He who touches the bashar (flesh) of him who zawab (flow) the discharge shall kabas (wash) his clothes, and bathe himself in mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

8 “‘If he who zawab (flow) the discharge raqaq (spits) on him who is tahawar (clean), then he shall kabas (wash) his clothes, and bathe himself in mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

9 “‘Whatever marakab (saddle) he who zawab (flow) the discharge rakab (rides) on shall be tamaa (unclean).

10 Whoever touches anything that was under him shall be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening). He who nashaa (lift) those things shall kabas (wash) his clothes, and bathe himself in mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

11 “‘Whoever he who zawab (flow) the discharge touches, without having shatap (rinsed) his yad (hand) in mayam (Waters), he shall kabas (wash) his clothes, and bathe himself in mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

12 “‘The earthen kalay (vessel), which he who zawab (flow) the discharge touches, shall be shabar (broken); and every kalay (vessel) of itz (wood) shall be shatap (rinsed) in mayam (Waters).

13 “‘When he who zawab (flow) a discharge is tahar (cleansed) of his discharge, then he shall sapar (book) to himself shabai (seven) yamayam (days) for his taharah (cleansing), and kabas (wash) his clothes; and he shall bathe his bashar (flesh) in chay (life) mayam (Waters), and shall be tahar (clean).

14 “‘On the shamayanay (eighth) yawam (day) he shall laqach (take / seize) shanayam (two) turtledoves, or shanayam (two) ban (son) yawanah (pigeons), and bawaa (come) panayam (face) Yahawah () to the pathach (door) of the ahal (tent) of Meeting, and nathan (give) them to the kahan (priest):

15 And the kahan (priest) shall ishah (make) them, the achad (one) for a chataah (sin) offering, and the other for a burnt ilah (offering). The kahan (priest) shall make kapar (atonement) for him panayam (face) Yahawah () for his discharge.

16 “‘If any ayash (man / husband) yatzaa (go out / come out) an emission of semen, then he shall rachatz (bathe) all his bashar (flesh) in mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

17 Every bagad (garment), and every iwar (skin), whereon the semen is, shall be kabas (washed) with mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

18 If a ayash (man / husband) shakab (lies) with a ayashah (woman / wife) and there is an emission of semen, they shall both rachatz (bathe) themselves in mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

19 “‘If a ayashah (woman / wife) zawab (flow) a discharge, and her discharge in her bashar (flesh) is dam (blood), she shall be in her impurity shabai (seven) yamayam (days): and whoever touches her shall be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

20 “‘Everything that she shakab (lies) on in her impurity shall be tamaa (unclean). Everything also that she yashab (inhabit/dwell) on shall be tamaa (unclean).

21 Whoever touches her mashakab (bed) shall kabas (wash) his clothes, and bathe himself in mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

22 Whoever touches anything that she yashab (inhabit/dwell) on shall kabas (wash) his clothes, and bathe himself in mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

23 If it is on the mashakab (bed), or on anything whereon she yashab (inhabit/dwell), when he touches it, he shall be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

24 “‘If any ayash (man / husband) shakab (lies) with her, and her monthly flow is on him, he shall be tamaa (unclean) shabai (seven) yamayam (days); and every mashakab (bed) whereon he shakab (lies) shall be tamaa (unclean).

25 “‘If a ayashah (woman / wife) zawab (flow) a discharge of her dam (blood) many yamayam (days) not in the ith (time) of her period, or if she zawab (flow) a discharge il (over) the time of her period; all the yamayam (days) of the discharge of her tamaah (uncleanness) shall be as in the yamayam (days) of her period: she is tamaa (unclean).

26 Every mashakab (bed) whereon she shakab (lies) all the yamay (days) of her discharge shall be to her as the mashakab (bed) of her period: and everything whereon she yashab (inhabit/dwell) shall be tamaa (unclean), as the tamaah (uncleanness) of her period.

27 Whoever touches these things shall be tamaa (unclean), and shall kabas (wash) his clothes, and bathe himself in mayam (Waters), and be tamaa (unclean) until the irab (evening).

28 “‘But if she is tahar (cleansed) of her discharge, then she shall sapar (book) to herself shabai (seven) yamayam (days), and achar (other) that she shall be tahar (clean).

29 On the shamayanay (eighth) yawam (day) she shall laqach (take / seize) shanayam (two) turtledoves, or shanayam (two) ban (son) yawanah (pigeons), and bawaa (bring) them to the kahan (priest), to the pathach (door) of the ahal (tent) of Meeting.

30 The kahan (priest) shall ishah (make) the achad (one) for a chataah (sin) offering, and the other for a burnt chataah (sin); and the kahan (priest) shall make kapar (atonement) for her panayam (face) Yahawah () for the tamaah (uncleanness) of her discharge.

31 “‘Thus you shall nazar (crown / consecrate) the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) from their tamaah (uncleanness), so they will not mawath (death) in their tamaah (uncleanness), when they tamaa (defile) my mashakan (tabernacle) that is in their thawak (midst).’”

32 This is the thawarah (Torah / Instruction) of him who zawab (flow) a discharge, and of him who yatzaa (go out / come out) an emission of semen, so that he is tamaa (unclean) thereby;

33 And of her who has her period, and of a zakar (remember) or naqabah (woman) who zawab (flow) a discharge, and of him who shakab (lies) with her who is tamaa (unclean).
