Leviticus 4 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) to Mashah (Moses), amar (spoke),

2 “Dabar (word / matter) to the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel), amar (spoke), ‘If anyone chataa (sins) unintentionally, in any of the things which Yahawah () has commanded not to be ishah (make), and thaishayanah (does) any hanah (Behold) of them:

3 If the mashayach (anointed one) kahan (priest) chataa (sins) so as to bring ashamah (guilt) on the im (nation / people), then let him qarab (come close) for his chataah (sin), which he has chataa (sinned), a young par (bull) thamayam (complete / whole) blemish to Yahawah () for a chataah (sin) offering.

4 He shall bawaa (come) the par (bull) to the pathach (door) of the ahal (tent) of Meeting panayam (face) Yahawah (); and he shall samak (lay) his yad (hand) on the raash (head) of the par (bull), and shachat (kill) the par (bull) panayam (face) Yahawah ().

5 The mashayach (anointed one) kahan (priest) shall laqach (take / seize) some of the dam (blood) of the par (bull), and bawaa (bring) it to the ahal (tent) of Meeting.

6 The kahan (priest) shall tabal (dip) his atzabai (finger) in the dam (blood), and nazah (sprinkle) some of the dam (blood) shabai (seven) paimayam (times) panayam (face) Yahawah (), panayam (face) the parakath (veil) of the qadash (set apart / make holy).

7 The kahan (priest) shall nathan (give) some of the dam (blood) on the qaranawath (horns) of the mazabach (altar) of sam (sweet) qatarath (incense) panayam (face) Yahawah (), which is in the ahal (tent) of Meeting; and he shall shapak (pour) out all of rest of the dam (blood) of the par (bull) at the base of the mazabach (altar) of burnt ilah (offering), which is at the pathach (door) of the ahal (tent) of Meeting.

8 He shall take all the chalab (fat) of the par (bull) of the chataah (sin) offering off of it; the chalab (fat) that kasah (covers) the innards, and all the chalab (fat) that is on the innards,

9 And the shanayam (two) kalayath (kidneys), and the chalab (fat) that is on them, which is by the kasalayam (loins), and the cover on the kabad (liver), with the kalayath (kidneys), he shall sawar (take) away,

10 As it is rawam (will lift up) off of the shawar (bull) of the zabach (sacrifice) of shalam (peace) offerings. The kahan (priest) shall qatar (burn) them on the mazabach (altar) of burnt ilah (offering).

11 The par (bull's) iwar (skin), all its bashar (flesh), with its raash (head), and with its karai (legs), its innards, and its parash (dung),

12 Even the whole par (bull) shall he yatzaa (go out / come out) forth outside the machanah (camp) to a tahawar (clean) maqawam (place), where the ashes are shapak (poured) out, and sharap (burn) it on itz (wood) with ash (fire). Where the ashes are shapak (poured) out it shall be sharap (burned).

13 “‘If the whole idah (congregation) of Yashar-Al (Israel) yashagaw (sins), and the thing is ilam (hidden) from the iyanay (eyes) of the qahal (assembly), and they ishah (make) done any of the things which Yahawah () has commanded not to be ishah (make), and are asham (guilty);

14 When the chataah (sin) in which they have chataa (sinned) is yadai (known), then the qahal (assembly) shall qarab (come close) a young par (bull) for a chataah (sin) offering, and bawaa (bring) it panayam (face) the ahal (tent) of Meeting.

15 The zaqanay (elders) of the idah (congregation) shall samak (lay) their yad (hand) on the raash (head) of the par (bull) panayam (face) Yahawah (); and the par (bull) shall be shachat (killed) panayam (face) Yahawah ().

16 The mashayach (anointed one) kahan (priest) shall bawaa (bring) of the dam (blood) of the par (bull) to the ahal (tent) of Meeting:

17 And the kahan (priest) shall tabal (dip) his atzabai (finger) in the dam (blood), and nazah (sprinkle) it shabai (seven) paimayam (times) panayam (face) Yahawah (), panayam (face) the parakath (veil).

18 He shall nathan (give) some of the dam (blood) on the qaranath (horns) of the mazabach (altar) which is panayam (face) Yahawah (), that is in the ahal (tent) of Meeting; and the rest of the dam (blood) he shall shapak (pour) out at the base of the mazabach (altar) of burnt ilah (offering), which is at the pathach (door) of the ahal (tent) of Meeting.

19 All its chalab (fat) he shall rawam (will lift up) from it, and qatar (burn) it on the mazabach (altar).

20 Thus shall he ishah (make) with the par (bull); as he ishah (make) with the par (bull) of the chataah (sin) offering, so shall he ishah (make) with this; and the kahan (priest) shall make kapar (atonement) for them, and they shall be salach (forgive/pardon/make clean).

21 He shall yatzaa (go out / come out) forth the par (bull) outside the machanah (camp), and sharap (burn) it as he sharap (burned) the raashawan (first) par (bull). It is the chataah (sin) offering for the qahal (assembly).

22 “‘When a nashayaa (ruler) chataa (sins), and shagagah (unwittingly) thaishayanah (does) any one of all the things which Yahawah () his Alahayam () has commanded not to be ishah (make), and is asham (guilty);

23 If his chataah (sin), in which he has chataa (sinned), is yadai (made) known to him, he shall bawaa (bring) as his qaraban (offering) a shaiyar (goat), a zakar (remember) thamayam (complete / whole) blemish.

24 He shall samak (lay) his yad (hand) on the raash (head) of the shaiyar (goat), and shachat (kill) it in the maqawam (place) where they shachat (kill) the burnt ilah (offering) panayam (face) Yahawah (). It is a sin ilah (offering).

25 The kahan (priest) shall laqach (take / seize) some of the dam (blood) of the chataah (sin) offering with his atzabai (finger), and nathan (give) it on the qaranath (horns) of the mazabach (altar) of burnt ilah (offering). He shall shapak (pour) out the rest of its dam (blood) at the base of the mazabach (altar) of burnt ilah (offering).

26 All its chalab (fat) he shall qatar (burn) on the mazabach (altar), like the chalab (fat) of the zabach (sacrifice) of shalam (peace) offerings; and the kahan (priest) shall make kapar (atonement) for him concerning his chataah (sin), and he will be salach (forgive/pardon/make clean).

27 “‘If anyone of the aratz (Earth/land) im (nation / people) chataa (sins) shagagah (unwittingly), in ishah (make) any of the things which Yahawah () has commanded not to be ishah (make), and is asham (guilty);

28 If his chataah (sin), which he has chataa (sinned), is yadai (made) known to him, then he shall bawaa (bring) for his qaraban (offering) a goat, a naqabah (female) thamayam (complete / whole) blemish, for his chataah (sin) which he has chataa (sinned).

29 He shall samak (lay) his yad (hand) on the raash (head) of the chataah (sin) offering, and shachat (kill) the chataah (sin) offering in the maqawam (place) of burnt chataah (sin).

30 The kahan (priest) shall laqach (take / seize) some of its dam (blood) with his atzabai (finger), and nathan (give) it on the qaranath (horns) of the mazabach (altar) of burnt ilah (offering); and the rest of its dam (blood) he shall shapak (pour) out at the base of the mazabach (altar).

31 All its chalab (fat) he shall sawar (take) away, like the chalab (fat) is sawar (taken) away from off of the zabach (sacrifice) of shalam (peace) offerings; and the kahan (priest) shall qatar (burn) it on the mazabach (altar) for a pleasant aroma to Yahawah (); and the kahan (priest) shall make kapar (atonement) for him, and he will be salach (forgive/pardon/make clean).

32 “‘If he bawaa (bring) a kabash (lamb) as his chataah (sin) for a sin qaraban (offering), he shall bawaa (bring) a naqabah (female) thamayam (complete / whole) blemish.

33 He shall samak (lay) his yad (hand) on the raash (head) of the chataah (sin) offering, and shachat (kill) it for a chataah (sin) offering in the maqawam (place) where they shachat (kill) the burnt ilah (offering).

34 The kahan (priest) shall laqach (take / seize) some of the dam (blood) of the chataah (sin) offering with his atzabai (finger), and nathan (give) it on the qaranath (horns) of the mazabach (altar) of burnt ilah (offering); and all the rest of its dam (blood) he shall shapak (pour) out at the base of the mazabach (altar).

35 All its chalab (fat) he shall sawar (take) away, like the chalab (fat) of the kashab (lamb) is sawar (taken) away from the zabach (sacrifice) of shalam (peace) offerings; and the kahan (priest) shall qatar (burn) them on the mazabach (altar), on the offerings of Yahawah () made by ashah (fire / offering made by fire); and the kahan (priest) shall make kapar (atonement) for him concerning his chataah (sin) that he has chataa (sinned), and he will be salach (forgive/pardon/make clean).
