On that yawam (day) they qaraa (called) in the sapar (book / scribed document) of Mashah (Moses) in the azan (ear) of the im (nation / people); and therein was matzaa (found) kathab (write), that an Imawanay (Ammonite) and a Mawaabay (Moabite) should not bawaa (come) into the qahal (assembly) of Alahayam () iwalam (forever),
Because they didn't qadam (meet) the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel) with lacham (bread) and with mayam (Waters), but shakar (hired) Balaim (Balaam) against them, to qalal (curse) them: however our Alahayam () hapak (turned) the qalal (curse) into a barakah (blessing).
It came to pass, when they had shamai (hearken / hear) the thawarah (Torah / Instruction), that they badal (separated) from Yashar-Al (Israel) all the irab (evening) multitude.
Now panayam (face) this, Alayashayab (Eliashib) the kahan (priest), who was nathan (give) over the rooms of the bayath (house) of our Alahayam (), being qarawab (allied) to Tawabayah (Tobiah),
Ishah (make) prepared for him a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) room, where panayam (face) they nathan (give) the meal manachah (offerings), the labawanah (frankincense), and the kalayam (vessels), and the maishar (tithes) of the grain, the new thayarawash (wine), and the yatzahar (fresh oil), which were given by matzawah (commandment) to the Lawayay (Levites), and the singers, and the shairayam (porters); and the wave tharawamah (offerings) for the kahanayam (priests).
But in all this, I was not at Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem); for in the shanayam (two) and shalawashayam (thirty) shanah (year) of Arathachashashathaa (Artaxerxes) malak (king) of Babal (Babylon) I bawaa (bring) to the malak (king): and qatz (after) certain yamayam (days) shaal (asked) I leave of the malak (king),
And I bawaa (come) to Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), and bayan (between) the rai (evil) that Alayashayab (Eliashib) ishah (make) done for Tawabayah (Tobiah), in ishah (make) him a room in the chatzaray (courts) of the bayath (house) of Alahayam ().
It grieved me severely: therefore I shalak (cast) forth all the bayath (house) kalay (stuff) of Tawabayah (Tobiah) out of the room.
Then I commanded, and they tahar (cleansed) the rooms: and there shawab (turn back / repent) I again the kalay (vessels) of the bayath (house) of Alahayam (), with the meal manachah (offerings) and the labawanah (frankincense).
I yadai (perceived) that the manayawath (portions) of the Lawayay (Levites) nathan (give) not been given them; so that the Lawayay (Levites) and the singers, who ishah (make) the malaakah (work), had barach (fled) everyone to his shadah (field).
Then I rayab (contended) with the saganayam (rulers), and amar (spoke), “Why is the bayath (house) of Alahayam () forsaken?” I qabatz (gathered) them together, and imad (set) them in their imad (place).
Then bawaa (bring) all Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) the maishar (tithe) of the grain and the new thayarawash (wine) and the yatzahar (fresh oil) to the awatzarawath (treasuries).
I made atzar (treasurers) over the awatzarawath (treasuries), Shalamayah (Shelemiah) the kahan (priest), and Tzadawaq (Zadok) the sapar (book), and of the Lawayay (Levites), Padayah (Pedaiah): and next to them was Chanan (showing favor) the ban (son) of Zakawar (remember/recall), the ban (son) of Mathanayah (Mattaniah); for they were chashab (counted) aman (believe / have faith), and their business was to chalaq (distribute) to their ach (brother/kinsman).
Zakar (remember) me, my Alahayam (), concerning this, and don't machah (wipe) out my chasad (grace) deeds that I ishah (make) done for the bayath (house) of my Alahayam (), and for its observances.
In those yamayam (days) raah (see / saw) I in Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) some men darak (treading) winepresses on the shabath (shabath / rest), and bawaa (bring) in sheaves, and imas (loading) donkeys; as also yayan (wine), inabayam (grapes), and thaanayam (figs), and all kinds of mashaa (burdens), which they bawaa (bring) into Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) on the shabath (shabath / rest) yawam (day): and I iwad (admonish/bear witness against) against them in the yawam (day) in which they makar (sold) tzayad (food).
There lived men of tzaray (tyre) also therein, who bawaa (bring) in dag (fish), and all kinds of makar (wares), and makar (sold) on the shabath (shabath / rest) to the banay (my son) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), and in Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem).
Then I rayab (contended) with the charay (nobles) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), and amar (said) to them, “What rai (evil) thing is this that you ishah (make), and chalal (profane) the shabath (shabath / rest) yawam (day)?
Didn't your ab (father) ishah (make) thus, and didn't our Alahayam () bawaa (come) all this rai (evil) on us, and on this iyar (city)? Yet you bawaa (come) more charawan (wrath) on Yashar-Al (Israel) by chalal (profaning) the shabath (shabath / rest).”
It came to pass that, when the shairay (gates) of Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) tzalal (began) to be dark panayam (face) the shabath (shabath / rest), I commanded that the dalathawath (doors) should be sagar (shut), and commanded that they should not be pathach (opened) until achar (other) the shabath (shabath / rest). I imad (set) some of my nair (servants) over the shairay (gates), that no mashaa (burden) should be bawaa (bring) in on the shabath (shabath / rest) yawam (day).
So the rakalayam (merchants) and sellers of all kinds of mamakar (wares) lawan (lodged) outside of Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) paim (once) or shanayam (two).
Then I iwad (admonish/bear witness against) amar (said) them, and said to them, “Why do you stay around the chawamah (wall)? If you shanah (do) so again, I will shalach (send) yad (hand) on you.” From that ith (time) on, they didn't bawaa (bring) on the shabath (shabath / rest).
I commanded the Lawayay (Levites) that they should tahar (purify) themselves, and that they should bawaa (come) and shamar (keep/guard) the shairayam (gates), to qadash (set apart / make holy) the shabath (shabath / rest) yawam (day). Zakar (remember) to me, my Alahayam (), this also, and chawas (spare) me according to the greatness of your loving chasad (grace).
In those yamayam (days) also raah (see / saw) I the Yahawaday (Jews) who had yashab (inhabit/dwell) nashayam (women) of ashadawaday (ashdod), of imawanay (ammon), and of mawaabay (moab):
And their ban (son) dabar (word / matter) chatzay (half) in the ashadawadayath (speech) of Ashadawad (Ashdod), and nakar (could) not dabar (word / matter) in the Yahawadayath (Jews)’ language, but according to the lashawan (tongue / language) of each im (nation / people).
I rayab (contended) with them, and qalal (cursed) them, and nakah (struck) ayash (man / husband) of them, and marat (plucked) off their hair, and made them shabai (swear / take oath) by Alahayam (), “You shall not nathan (give) your banath (daughter) to their ban (son), nor nashaa (lift) their banath (daughter) for your ban (son), or for yourselves.
Didn't Shalamah (Solomon) malak (king) of Yashar-Al (Israel) chataa (sin) by these things? Yet among many gawayam (nations) was there no malak (king) ahab (love) him, and he was beloved of his Alahayam (), and Alahayam () nathan (give) him malak (king) over all Yashar-Al (Israel). Nevertheless foreign nashayam (women) caused even him to chataa (sin).
Shall we then shamai (hearken / hear) to you to ishah (make) all this gadawal (very great/important/mighty) rai (evil), to mail (top/above) against our Alahayam () in yashab (inhabit/dwell) foreign nashayam (women)?”
One of the banay (my son) of Yawayadai (Joiada), the ban (son) of Alayashayab (Eliashib) the gadawal (very great/important/mighty) kahan (priest), was son-in-law to Sanabalat (Sanballat) the charanay (horonite): therefore I barach (chased) him from me.
Zakar (remember) them, my Alahayam (), because they have gaal (defiled) the kahanah (priesthood), and the barayath (covenant) of the kahanah (priesthood), and of the Lawayay (Levites).
Thus I tahar (cleansed) them from all foreigners, and imad (appointed) duties for the kahanayam (priests) and for the Lawayay (Levites), everyone in his malaakah (work);
And for the itz (wood) qaraban (offering), at ithayam (times) zaman (appointed), and for the bakawar (first) fruits. Zakar (remember) me, my Alahayam (), for tawab (good / proper function).
