Now it happened, when it was shamai (hearken / hear) to Sanabalat (Sanballat) and Tawabayah (Tobiah), and to Gasham (Geshem) the Irabay (Arabian), and to the yathar (rest) of our ayab (enemy), that I had banah (build) the chawamah (wall), and that there was no paratz (breach) yathar (left) therein; (gam (indeed / moreover) even to that ith (time) I had not imad (set) up the dalathawath (doors) in the shairayam (gates);)
That Sanabalat (Sanballat) and Gasham (Geshem) shalach (send) to me, amar (said), “yalak (come), let us yaid (meet) yachad (together) in the kapayarayam (villages) in the baqaih (plain) of Awanaw (Ono).” But they intended to rai (harm) me.
I shalach (send) malaakayam (messengers) to them, amar (said), “I am ishah (make) a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) malaakah (work), so that I can't yarad (come) down. Why should the malaakah (work) shabath (shabath / rest), while I rapah (leave) it, and yarad (come) down to you?”
They shalach (send) to me arabai (four) paimayam (times) after this sort; and I shawab (turn) them the same dabar (word / matter).
Then Sanabalat (Sanballat) shalach (send) his nair (servant) to me the same dabar (word / matter) the chamayashay (fifth) paim (time) with an pathach (open) agarath (letter) in his yad (hand),
In which was kathab (write), “It is shamai (hearken / hear) among the gawayam (heathen), and Gasham (Gashmu) amar (said) it, that you and the Yahawaday (Jews) intend to marad (rebel). Because of that, you are banah (build) the chawamah (wall). You would be their malak (king), according to these dabarayam (words).
You have also imad (appointed) nabayaayam (prophets) to qaraa (called) of you at Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem), amar (said), ‘There is a malak (king) in Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah)!’ Now it will be shamai (hearken / hear) to the malak (king) according to these dabarayam (words). Yalak (come) now therefore, and let us take yaitz (counsel) yachad (together).”
Then I shalach (send) to him, amar (said), “There are no such things hayah (came to pass) as you amar (said), but you imagine them out of your own lab (heart).”
For they all would have made us yaraa (fear / be afraid), amar (said), “Their yad (hand) will be rapah (weakened) from the malaakah (work), that it not be ishah (make).” But now, chazaq (strengthen) my yad (hand).
I bawaa (come) to the bayath (house) of Shamaiyah (Shemaiah) the ban (son) of Dalayah (Delaiah) the ban (son) of Mahayatabaal (Mehetabel), who was itzar (shut) in at his home; and he amar (spoke), “Let us yaid (meet) together in the bayath (house) of Alahayam (), thawak (midst) the hayakal (temple), and let us sagar (shut) the dalathawath (doors) of the hayakal (temple); for they will bawaa (come) to harag (kill) you; yes, in the layal (night) will they bawaa (come) to harag (kill) you.”
I amar (said), “Should such a ayash (man / husband) as I barach (flee)? Who is there that, being such as I, would bawaa (bring) into the hayakal (temple) to chayay (life) his life? I will not bawaa (bring) in.”
I nakar (discerned), and behold, Alahayam () had not shalach (send) him; but he dabar (word / matter) this nabawaah (prophecy) against me. Tawabayah (Tobiah) and Sanabalat (Sanballat) had shakar (hired) him.
He shakar (hired) so that I would be yaraa (fear / be afraid), ishah (make) so, and chataa (sin), and that they might have material for an rai (evil) sham (name), that they might charap (reproach) me.
“Zakar (remember), my Alahayam (), Tawabayah (Tobiah) and Sanabalat (Sanballat) according to these their maishah (works), and also the nabayaah (prophetess) Nawaidayah (Noadiah), and the yathar (rest) of the nabayaayam (prophets), that would have put me in yaraa (fear / be afraid).”
So the chawamah (wall) was shalam (finished) in the isharayam (twenty) - chamash (fifth) day of Alawal (Elul), in chamashayam (fifty) - shanayam (two) yawam (day).
It happened, when all our ayab (enemy) shamai (hearken / hear) of it, that all the gawayam (nations) that were sabayab (surrounding) us were afraid, and were much napal (fall / be cast down) down in their own iyan (eye); for they yadai (perceived) that this malaakah (work) was malaakah (worked) of our Alahayam ().
Moreover in those yamayam (days) the charay (nobles) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) halak (move) many agarath (letters) to Tawabayah (Tobiah), and Tawabayah (Tobiah's) letters bawaa (bring) to them.
For there were many in Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) bail (sworn) to him, because he was the son-in-law of Shakanayah (Shecaniah) the ban (son) of Arach (Arah); and his ban (son) Yahawachanan (Jehohanan) had laqach (take / seize) the banath (daughter) of Mashalam (Meshullam) the ban (son) of Barakayah (Berechiah) as wife.
Also they amar (said) of his tawab (good / proper function) deeds panayam (face) me, and reported my dabar (word / matter) to him. Tawabayah (Tobiah) shalach (send) agarawath (letters) to put me in yaraa (fear / be afraid).
