Obadiah 1 — English–Hebrew Parallel

13 Don't bawaa (bring) into the shair (gate) of my im (nation / people) in the yawam (day) of their ayad (calamity). Don't raah (see / saw) down on their rai (affliction) in the yawam (day) of their ayad (calamity), neither seize their wealth on the yawam (day) of their ayad (calamity).

14 Don't imad (stand) in the crossroads to karath (cut) off those of his who palayat (escape). Don't sagar (deliver) up those of his who sharayad (remain) in the yawam (day) of tzarah (distress).

18 The bayath (house) of Yaiqab (Jacob) will be a ash (fire), the bayath (house) of Yawasap (Joseph) a lahabah (flame), and the bayath (house) of Ishaw (Esau) for qash (stubble). They will dalaq (burn) among them, and akal (eat) them. There will not be any sharayad (remaining) to the bayath (house) of Ishaw (Esau).” Indeed, Yahawah () has dabar (word / matter).

20 The galawath (captives) of this chayal (army) of the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel), who are among the Kanainay (Canaanites), will possess even to Tzarapath (Zarephath); and the galawath (captives) of Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), who are in Saparad (Sepharad), will yarash (possess) the iray (cities) of the Nagab (Negev).
