1 Now Baiz (Boaz) ilah (go up / offer) up to the shair (gate), and yashab (inhabit/dwell) down there. Behold, the gaal (near) kinsman of whom Baiz (Boaz) dabar (word / matter) ibar (pass over/through) by; to whom he dabar (word / matter), “ibar (pass over/through) over here, friend, and yashab (inhabit/dwell) down!” He sawar (turned) aside, and yashab (inhabit/dwell) down.
2 He laqach (take / seize) ishar (ten) anashayam (men) of the zaqanay (elders) of the iyar (city), and amar (said), “yashab (inhabit/dwell) down here.” They yashab (inhabit/dwell) down.
3 He amar (said) to the gaal (near) kinsman, “Naimay (Naomi), who has shawab (turn) back out of the shadah (country) of Mawaab (Moab), is makar (selling) the chalaqah (parcel) of shadah (land), which was our ach (brother/kinsman) Alayamalak (Elimelech's).
4 I amar (said) to galah (disclose) it to you, amar (said), ‘qanah (buy) it before those who sit here, and before the zaqanay (elders) of my im (nation / people).’ If you will gaal (redeem) it, gaal (redeem) it; but if you will not gaal (redeem) it, then nagad (tell) me, that I may yadai (know). For there is no one to gaal (redeem) it zawalah (besides) you; and I am achar (other) you.” He amar (said), “I will gaal (redeem) it.”
5 Then Baiz (Boaz) amar (said), “On the yawam (day) you qanah (buy) the shadah (field) from the yad (hand) of Naimay (Naomi), you must qanah (buy) it also from the Moabitess, the ayashah (woman / wife) of the mawath (death), to qawam (rise up) up the sham (name) of the mawath (death) on his nachalah (inheritance).”
6 The gaal (near) kinsman amar (said), “I can't gaal (redeem) it for myself, lest I shachath (mar) my own nachalah (inheritance). Take my gaalah (right) of yakal (redemption) for yourself; for I can't gaal (redeem) it.”
7 Now this panayam (face) the custom in former time in Yashar-Al (Israel) concerning gaalah (redeeming) and concerning thamawarah (exchanging), to qawam (rise up) all things: a ayash (man / husband) took off his nail (shoe), and nathan (give) it to his neighbor; and this was the thaiwadah (way) of attestation in Yashar-Al (Israel).
8 So the gaal (near) kinsman amar (said) to Baiz (Boaz), “qanah (buy) it for yourself.” He took off his nail (shoe).
9 Baiz (Boaz) amar (said) to the zaqanayam (elders), and to all the im (nation / people), “You are witnesses this yawam (day), that I have bought all that was Alayamalak (Elimelech's), and all that was Kalayawan (Chilion's) and Machalawan (Mahlon's), from the yad (hand) of Naimay (Naomi).
10 Rawath (Moreover) the Moabitess, the ayashah (woman / wife) of Machalawan (Mahlon), I have qanah (purchased) to be my ayashah (woman / wife), to qawam (rise up) up the sham (name) of the mawath (death) on his nachalah (inheritance), that the sham (name) of the mawath (death) not be karath (cut) off from im (nation / people) his ach (brother/kinsman), and from the shair (gate) of his maqawam (place). You are witnesses this yawam (day).”
11 All the im (nation / people) who were in the shair (gate), and the zaqanayam (elders), amar (spoke), “We are witnesses. 13 So Baiz (Boaz) laqach (take / seize) Rawath (Ruth), and she became his ayashah (woman / wife); and he bawaa (come) in to her, and Yahawah () nathan (give) her harawan (conception), and she yalad (birth / begot) a ban (son).
14 The nashayam (women) amar (spoke) to Naimay (Naomi), “barak (blessed) be Yahawah (), who has not shabath (shabath / rest) you this yawam (day) without a gaal (near) kinsman; and let his sham (name) be qaraa (called) in Yashar-Al (Israel).
15 He shall be to you a restorer of napash (soul), and kawal (all) you in your shayabah (old age / white hair - due to age) age, for your kalah (complete / finish), who ahab (love) you, who is tawab (good / proper function) to you than shabai (seven) banayam (sons), has yalad (birth / begot) him.”
16 Naimay (Naomi) laqach (take / seize) the yalad (birth / begot), and shayath (put / appoint / make) it in her chayaq (bosom), and became aman (believe / have faith) to it.
17 The women, her neighbors, gave him a sham (name), amar (said), “There is a ban (son) yalad (birth / begot) to Naimay (Naomi)”; and they sham (name) him Iwabad (Obed). He is the ab (father) of Yashay (Jesse), the ab (father) of Dawad (David).
18 Now this is the history of the thawaladawath (generations) of Paratz (Perez): Paratz (Perez) became the yalad (birth / begot) of Chatzarawan (Hezron),
19 And Chatzarawan (Hezron) became the yalad (birth / begot) of Ram (Ram), and Ram (Ram) became the yalad (birth / begot) of Imayanadab (Amminadab),
20 And Imayanadab (Amminadab) became the yalad (birth / begot) of Nachashawan (Nahshon), and Nachashawan (Nahshon) became the yalad (birth / begot) of Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch),
21 And Shalamawan (Salmon) became the yalad (birth / begot) of Baiz (Boaz), and Baiz (Boaz) became the yalad (birth / begot) of Iwabad (Obed),
22 And Iwabad (Obed) became the yalad (birth / begot) of Yashay (Jesse), and Yashay (Jesse) became the yalad (birth / begot) of Dawad (David).
