2 Samuel 9 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 Dawad (David) amar (said), “Is there yet any who is yathar (left) of the bayath (house) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife), that I may show him chasad (grace) for Yahawanathan (Jonathan's) sake?”

2 There was of the bayath (house) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) a ibad (servant) whose sham (name) was Tzayabaa (Ziba), and they qaraa (called) him to Dawad (David); and the malak (king) amar (said) to him, “Are you Tzayabaa (Ziba)?” He amar (said), “Your ibad (servant) is he.”

3 The malak (king) amar (spoke), “Is there not yet any of the bayath (house) of Shaawal (Saul), that I may show the chasad (grace) of Alahayam () to him?” Tzayabaa (Ziba) amar (spoke) to the malak (king), “Yahawanathan (Jonathan) has yet a ban (son), who is nakah (lame) of his ragalayam (feet).”

4 The malak (king) amar (said) to him, “ayapah (where) is he?” Tzayabaa (Ziba) amar (said) to the malak (king), “Behold, he is in the bayath (house) of Makayar (Machir) the ban (son) of Imayaal (Ammiel), in Laadabar (Lo Debar).”

5 Then malak (king) Dawad (David) shalach (send), and laqach (take / seize) him out of the bayath (house) of Makayar (Machir) the ban (son) of Imayaal (Ammiel), from Laadabar (Lo Debar).

6 Mapayabashath (Mephibosheth), the ban (son) of Yahawanathan (Jonathan), the ban (son) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife), bawaa (bring) to Dawad (David), and napal (fall / be cast down) on his panayam (face), and showed respect. Dawad (David) amar (said), “Mapayabashath (Mephibosheth).” He amar (said), “Behold, your ibad (servant)!”

7 Dawad (David) amar (said) to him, “Don't be yaraa (fear / be afraid) of him; for I will ishah (make) show you chasad (grace) for Yahawanathan (Jonathan) your ab (father) sake, and will shawab (turn) to you all the shadah (land) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) your ab (father). You shall akal (eat) lacham (bread) at my shalachan (table) continually.”

8 He shachah (bowed) down, and amar (said), “What is your ibad (servant), that you should panah (turn) on such a mawath (death) kalab (dog) as I am?”

9 Then the malak (king) qaraa (called) to Tzayabaa (Ziba), Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) nair (servant), and amar (said) to him, “All that hayah (came to pass) to Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) and to all his bayath (house) nathan (give) I given to your adawan (master / lord) ban (son).

10 You shall ibad (servant) the adamah (land) for him, you, and your banayam (sons), and your ibadayam (servants); and you shall bawaa (bring) in the harvest, that your adawan (master / lord) ban (son) may have lacham (bread) to akal (eat): but Mapayabashath (Mephibosheth) your adawan (master / lord) ban (son) shall akal (eat) lacham (bread) thamayad (always) at my shalachan (table).” Now Tzayabaa (Ziba) had chamash (fifteen) banayam (sons) and isharayam (twenty) ibadayam (servants).

11 Then Tzayabaa (Ziba) amar (spoke) to the malak (king), “According to all that my Adawan () the malak (king) tzawah (commands) his ibad (servant), so your shall ibad (servant) ishah (make).” So Mapayabashath (Mephibosheth) akal (eat) at the king's shalachan (table), like achad (one) of the malak (king) banay (sons).

12 Mapayabashath (Mephibosheth) had a qatan (small / young / least) ban (son), whose sham (name) was Mayakaa (Mica). All that lived in the bayath (house) of Tzayabaa (Ziba) were ibadayam (servants) to Mapayabashath (Mephibosheth).

13 So Mapayabashath (Mephibosheth) lived in Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem); for he akal (eat) continually at the malak (king) shalachan (table). He was pasach (lame) in shanayam (two) his ragal (feet / foot).
