1 Kings 10 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 When the malakah (queen) of Shabaa (Sheba) shamai (hearken / hear) of the shamai (fame) of Shalamah (Solomon) concerning the sham (name) of Yahawah (), she bawaa (come) to nasah (prove) him with chayadah (hard) questions.

2 She bawaa (bring) to Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) with a very kabad (great) chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor), with gamalayam (camels) that nashaa (lift) bashamayam (spices), and very much zahab (gold), and yaqar (precious) aban (stone); and when she bawaa (bring) come to Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch), she dabar (word / matter) with him of all that was in her labab (heart).

3 Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch) nagad (told) her all her dabar (word / matter): there was not anything ilam (hidden) from the malak (king) which he didn't nagad (tell) her.

4 When the malakah (queen) of Shabaa (Sheba) raah (see / saw) seen all the chakamah (wisdom) of Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch), and the bayath (house) that he had banah (build),

5 And the maakal (food) of his shalachan (table), and the mawashab (sitting) of his ibad (servant), and the maimad (attendance) of his sharath (ministers), and their clothing, and his cup bearers, and his ilah (ascent) by which he ilah (go up / offer) up to the bayath (house) of Yahawah (); there was no more rawach (spirit / wind) in her.

6 She amar (said) to the malak (king), “It was a amath (truth) dabar (word / matter) that I shamai (hearken / hear) in my own aratz (Earth/land) of your dabar (word / matter), and of your chakamah (wisdom).

7 However I didn't aman (believe / have faith) the dabarayam (words), until I bawaa (bring), and my iyan (eye) raah (see / saw) seen it. Behold, the chatzay (half) was not nagad (told) me! Your chakamah (wisdom) and tawab (good / proper function) yasap (exceed) the shamawaih (fame) which I shamai (hearken / hear).

8 Ashar (who/that) are your ayash (man / husband), ashar (who/that) are these your ibad (servant), who imad (stand) continually panayam (face) you, who shamai (hearken / hear) your chakamah (wisdom).

9 Barak (blessed) is Yahawah () your Alahayam (), who chapatz (delighted) in you, to nathan (give) you on the kasaa (throne) of Yashar-Al (Israel). Because Yahawah () ahabah (loved) Yashar-Al (Israel) iwalam (forever), therefore shawam (place / establish / appoint) he you malak (king), to ishah (make) mashapat (justice) and tzadaqah (righteousness).”

10 She nathan (give) the malak (king) one maah (hundred) isharayam (twenty) kakar (talents) of zahab (gold), and of bashamayam (spices) very rabah (great) store, and yaqar (precious) aban (stone). There bawaa (bring) no more such rab (abundance) of bashamayam (spices) as these which the malakah (queen) of Shabaa (Sheba) nathan (give) to malak (king) Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch).

11 The anay (navy) also of Chayaram (Hiram), that nashaa (lift) zahab (gold) from Awapayar (Ophir), bawaa (bring) in from Awapayar (Ophir) maad (great) rabah (plenty) of alamagayam (almug) itzay (trees) and yaqar (precious) aban (stone).

12 The malak (king) ishah (make) of the alamagayam (almug) itzay (trees) masaid (pillars) for the bayath (house) of Yahawah (), and for the malak (king) bayath (house), kanarawath (harps) also and stringed instruments for the singers: there bawaa (come) no such alamagayam (almug) itzay (trees), nor were raah (see), to this yawam (day).

13 Malak (king) Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch) nathan (give) to the malakah (queen) of Shabaa (Sheba) all her chapatz (desire), whatever she shaal (asked), besides that which Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch) nathan (give) her of his malak (king) yad (hand). So she panah (turn), and yalak (went) to her own aratz (Earth/land), she and her ibad (servant).

14 Now the mashaqal (weight) of zahab (gold) that bawaa (bring) to Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch) in achad (one) shanah (year) was shash (six) maah (hundred) shashayam (sixty) - shash (six) kakar (talents) of zahab (gold),

15 Besides that which the traders brought, and the masachar (traffic) of the rakalayam (merchants), and of all the malakay (kings) of the mixed people, and of the pachawath (governors) of the aratz (Earth/land).

16 Malak (king) Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch) ishah (make) two maah (hundred) tzanah (bucklers) of shachat (beaten) zahab (gold); shash (six) maah (hundred) shekels of zahab (gold) ilah (go up / offer) to achad (one) tzanah (buckler).

17 He made shalawash (three) maah (hundred) maganayam (shields) of shachat (beaten) zahab (gold); shalawash (three) minas of zahab (gold) ilah (go up / offer) to achad (one) magan (shield): and the malak (king) nathan (give) them in the bayath (house) of the yair (forest) of Labanawan (Lebanon).

18 Moreover the malak (king) ishah (make) a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) kasaa (throne) of shan (ivory), and overlaid it with the finest zahab (gold).

19 There were shash (six) mailawath (steps) to the kasaa (throne), and the raash (head) of the kasaa (throne) was igal (round) achar (other); and there were yadath (stays) on either side by the maqawam (place) of the shabath (shabath / rest), and shanayam (two) arayawath (lions) imad (standing) beside the yadath (stays).

20 Shanayam (two) arayayam (lions) imad (stood) there on the one side and on the other on the shash (six) mailawath (steps): there was nothing kan (for sure) it ishah (make) in any mamalakah (kingdom).

21 All malak (king) Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch) mashaqah (drinking) kalay (vessels) were of zahab (gold), and all the kalay (vessels) of the bayath (house) of the yair (forest) of Labanawan (Lebanon) were of sagar (pure) zahab (gold): none were of kasap (silver); it was maawamah (nothing) chashab (accounted) of in the yamay (days) of Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch).

22 For the malak (king) had at yam (sea/waters) a anay (navy) of Tharashayash (Tarshish) with the anay (navy) of Chayaram (Hiram): achad (one) every shalawash (three) shanayam (two) bawaa (bring) the anay (navy) of Tharashayash (Tarshish), nashaa (lift) zahab (gold), and kasap (silver), shanahabayam (ivory), and qapayam (apes), and thakayayam (peacocks).

23 So malak (king) Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch) gadal (exceeded) all the malakay (kings) of the aratz (Earth/land) in riches and in chakamah (wisdom).

24 All the aratz (Earth/land) baqash (sought) the presence of Shalamah (Solomon), to shamai (hearken / hear) his chakamah (wisdom), which Alahayam () nathan (give) put in his lab (heart).

25 They bawaa (bring) every ayash (man / husband) his tribute, kalay (vessels) of kasap (silver), and kalay (vessels) of zahab (gold), and clothing, and armor, and bashamayam (spices), sawasayam (horses), and paradayam (mules), a dabar (word / matter) shanah (year) by shanah (year).

26 Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch) asap (gathered) together rakab (chariots) and horsemen: and he had a alap (thousand) and arabai (four) maah (hundred) rakab (chariots), and shanayam (two) alap (thousand) horsemen, that he nachah (bestowed) in the rakab (chariot) iray (cities), and with the malak (king) at Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem).

27 The malak (king) nathan (give) kasap (silver) to be in Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) as abanayam (stones), and arazayam (cedars) nathan (give) he to be as the shaqamah (sycamore) trees that are in the lowland, for rab (abundance).

28 The sawasayam (horses) which Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch) had were mawatzaa (brought) out of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt); and the malak (king) sacharay (merchants) laqach (take / seize) them in droves, each drove at a machayar (price).

29 A marakabah (chariot) ilah (go up / offer) up and yatzaa (go out / come out) out of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt) for shash (six) maah (hundred) shekels of kasap (silver), and a sawas (horse) for one maah (hundred) chamashayam (fifty); and so for all the malakay (kings) of the Chathay (Hittites), and for the malakay (kings) of Aram (Syria), they yatzaa (go out / come out) them out by their yad (hand).
