Kings 16 — English–Hebrew Parallel

The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to Yahawaa (Jehu) the ban (son) of Chananay (Hanani) against Baishaa (Baasha), amar (spoke),

“Because I rawam (will lift up) you out of the ipar (dust), and nathan (give) you nagayad (prince) over my im (nation / people) Yashar-Al (Israel), and you have yalak (walked) in the darak (way) of Yarabaim (Jeroboam), and have made my im (nation / people) Yashar-Al (Israel) to chataa (sin), to provoke me to kais (anger) with their chataah (sin);

Behold, I will utterly sweep bair (away) Baishaa (Baasha) and his bayath (house); and I will nathan (give) your bayath (house) like the bayath (house) of Yarabaim (Jeroboam) the ban (son) of Nabat (Nebat).

The kalabayam (dogs) will akal (eat) Baishaa (Baasha's) descendants who mawath (death) in the iyar (city); and he who mawath (death) of his in the shadah (field) the iwap (flying) of the sky will akal (eat).”

Now the yathar (rest) of the dabaray (acts) of Baishaa (Baasha), and what he ishah (make), and his gabawarah (might), aren't they kathab (write) in the sapar (book / scribed document) of the dabaray (chronicles) of the malakay (kings) of Yashar-Al (Israel)?

Baishaa (Baasha) shakab (slept) with his ab (father), and was qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher) in Tharatzah (Tirzah); and Alah (these) his ban (son) malak (king) in his place.

Moreover by the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) Yahawaa (Jehu) the ban (son) of Chananay (Hanani) came the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () against Baishaa (Baasha), and against his bayath (house), both because of all the rai (evil) that he ishah (make) in the iyan (eye) of Yahawah (), to provoke him to kais (anger) with the maishah (work) of his yad (hand), in being like the bayath (house) of Yarabaim (Jeroboam), and because he nakah (struck) him.

In the isharayam (twenty) - shash (six) shanah (year) of Asaa (Asa) malak (king) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), Alah (these) the ban (son) of Baishaa (Baasha) began to malak (king) over Yashar-Al (Israel) in Tharatzah (Tirzah) for two shanathayam (years).

His ibad (servant) Zamaray (Zimri), shar (prince / ruler) of machatzayath (half) his rakab (chariots), qashar (conspired) against him. Now he was in Tharatzah (Tirzah), shathah (drinks) himself shakawar (drunk) in the bayath (house) of Aratzaa (Arza), who was over the bayath (house) in Tharatzah (Tirzah):

And Zamaray (Zimri) bawaa (bring) in and nakah (struck) him, and mawath (death) him, in the isharayam (twenty) - shabai (seven) shanah (year) of Asaa (Asa) malak (king) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), and malak (king) in his place.

It happened, when he began to malak (king), as soon as he yashab (inhabit/dwell) on his kasaa (throne), that he nakah (struck) all the bayath (house) of Baishaa (Baasha): he didn't shaar (leave) him a single shathan (one) who urinates on a qayar (wall), neither of his relatives, nor of his rai (neigbor/another person).

Thus Zamaray (Zimri) destroyed all the bayath (house) of Baishaa (Baasha), according to the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah (), which he dabar (word / matter) against Baishaa (Baasha) by Yahawaa (Jehu) the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy),

For all the chataawath (sins) of Baishaa (Baasha), and the chataawath (sins) of Alah (Elah) his ban (son), which they chataa (sinned), and with which they made Yashar-Al (Israel) to chataa (sin), to provoke Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), to kais (anger) with their habal (vanities).

Now the yathar (rest) of the dabaray (acts) of Alah (these), and all that he ishah (make), aren't they kathab (write) in the sapar (book / scribed document) of the dabaray (chronicles) of the malakay (kings) of Yashar-Al (Israel)?

In the isharayam (twenty) - shabai (seven) shanah (year) of Asaa (Asa) malak (king) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), Zamaray (Zimri) malak (king) shabai (seven) yamayam (days) in Tharatzah (Tirzah). Now the im (nation / people) were chanah (encamped) against Gabathawan (Gibbethon), which belonged to the Palashathay (Philistines).

The im (nation / people) who were chanah (encamped) shamai (hearken / hear) amar (said), Zamaray (Zimri) has qashar (conspired), and has also nakah (struck) the malak (king): therefore all Yashar-Al (Israel) made Imaray (Omri), the shar (prince / ruler) of the tzabaa (troop), malak (king) over Yashar-Al (Israel) that yawam (day) in the machanah (camp).

Imaray (Omri) ilah (go up / offer) up from Gabathawan (Gibbethon), and all Yashar-Al (Israel) with him, and they tzawar (besieged) Tharatzah (Tirzah).

It happened, when Zamaray (Zimri) raah (see / saw) that the iyar (city) was lakad (taken), that he bawaa (bring) into the aramawan (castle) of the malak (king) bayath (house), and burnt the malak (king) bayath (house) over him with ash (fire), and mawath (death),

For his chataah (sin) which he chataa (sinned) in ishah (make) that which was rai (evil) in the iyan (eye) of Yahawah (), in yalak (walking) in the darak (way) of Yarabaim (Jeroboam), and in his chataah (sin) which he ishah (make), to make Yashar-Al (Israel) to chataa (sin).

Now the yathar (rest) of the dabaray (acts) of Zamaray (Zimri), and his qashar (treason) that he committed, aren't they kathab (write) in the sapar (book / scribed document) of the dabaray (chronicles) of the malakay (kings) of Yashar-Al (Israel)?

Then were the im (nation / people) of Yashar-Al (Israel) chalaq (divided) into chatzay (two) parts: chatzay (half) of the im (nation / people) hayah (came to pass) Thabanay (Tibni) the ban (son) of Gayanath (Ginath), to make him malak (king); and chatzay (half) achar (other) Imaray (Omri).

But the im (nation / people) who achar (other) Imaray (Omri) chazaq (prevailed) ath (entirety) the im (nation / people) who achar (other) Thabanay (Tibni) the ban (son) of Gayanath (Ginath): so Thabanay (Tibni) mawath (death), and Imaray (Omri) malak (king).

In the shalawashayam (thirty) - achad (one) shanah (year) of Asaa (Asa) malak (king) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), Imaray (Omri) began to malak (king) over Yashar-Al (Israel) for shanayam (two) shanayam (two). He malak (king) shash (six) shanayam (two) in Tharatzah (Tirzah).

He bought the har (mountain) Shamarawan (Samaria) of Shamar (keep/guard) for two kakarayam (talents) of kasap (silver); and he banah (build) on the har (mountain), and qaraa (called) the sham (name) of the iyar (city) which he banah (build), after the sham (name) of Shamar (keep/guard), the adawan (master / lord) of the har (mountain), Shamarawan (Samaria).

Imaray (Omri) ishah (make) that which was rai (evil) in the iyan (eye) of Yahawah (), and dealt wickedly above all who were panayam (face) him.

For he yalak (walked) in all the darak (way) of Yarabaim (Jeroboam) the ban (son) of Nabat (Nebat), and in his chataah (sin) with which he made Yashar-Al (Israel) to chataa (sin), to provoke Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), to kais (anger) with their habal (vanities).

Now the yathar (rest) of the dabaray (acts) of Imaray (Omri) which he ishah (make), and his gabawarah (might) that he showed, aren't they kathab (write) in the sapar (book / scribed document) of the dabaray (chronicles) of the malakay (kings) of Yashar-Al (Israel)?

So Imaray (Omri) shakab (slept) with his ab (father), and was qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher) in Shamarawan (Samaria); and Achaab (Ahab) his ban (son) malak (king) in his place.

In the shalawashayam (thirty) - shamanah (eighth) shanah (year) of Asaa (Asa) malak (king) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) began Achaab (Ahab) the ban (son) of Imaray (Omri) to malak (king) over Yashar-Al (Israel): and Achaab (Ahab) the ban (son) of Imaray (Omri) malak (king) over Yashar-Al (Israel) in Shamarawan (Samaria) isharayam (twenty) - shanayam (two) shanah (years).

Achaab (Ahab) the ban (son) of Imaray (Omri) ishah (make) that which was rai (evil) in the iyan (eye) of Yahawah () above all that were panayam (face) him.

It happened, as if it had been a qalal (light) thing for him to yalak (walk) in the chataawath (sins) of Yarabaim (Jeroboam) the ban (son) of Nabat (Nebat), that he laqach (take / seize) as ayashah (woman / wife) Ayazabal (Jezebel) the banath (daughter) of Athabail (Ethbaal) malak (king) of the Tzayadanay (Sidonians), and yalak (went) and ibad (servant) Bail (Baal), and shachah (worshiped) him.

He qawam (rise up) up an mazabach (altar) for Bail (Baal) in the bayath (house) of Bail (Baal), which he had banah (build) in Shamarawan (Samaria).

Achaab (Ahab) ishah (make) the Asharah (Asherah); and Achaab (Ahab) ishah (make) yet more to provoke Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), to kais (anger) than all the malakay (kings) of Yashar-Al (Israel) who were panayam (face) him.

In his yawam (day) Chayaal (Hiel) the bayathahaalay (bethelite) banah (build) Yarayachaw (Jericho): he yasad (laid) its foundation with the loss of Abayaram (Abiram) his bakawar (firstborn), and natzab (set) up its dalath (gates) with the loss of his youngest son Shagawab (Segub), according to the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah (), which he dabar (word / matter) by Yahawashawai (Joshua) the ban (son) of Nawan (Nun).
