Now there tzaiq (cried) a achad (one) ayashah (woman / wife) of the wives of the banay (sons) of the nabayaayam (prophets) to Alayashai (Elisha), amar (spoke), “Your ibad (servant) my ayash (man / husband) is mawath (death). You yadai (know) that your ibad (servant) yaraa (fear / be afraid) Yahawah (). Now the nashah (creditor) bawaa (come) come to laqach (take / seize) for himself my shanayam (two) yalad (birth / begot) to be ibadayam (slaves).”
Alayashai (Elisha) amar (said) to her, “What shall I ishah (make) for you? Nagad (tell) me: what yash (do) you have in the bayath (house)?” She amar (said), “Your handmaid has nothing in the bayath (house), except a asawak (pot) of shaman (oil).”
Then he amar (said), “yalak (go), shaal (borrow) containers from of all your neighbors, even rayaq (empty) containers. Don't mait (borrow) just a few.
You shall bawaa (bring) in, and sagar (shut) the dalath (door) on you and on your ban (son), and yatzaq (pour) out into all those containers; and you shall nasai (set) aside that which is malaa (full).”
So she yalak (went) from him, and sagar (shut) the dalath (door) on her and on her ban (son); they nagash (brought) the containers to her, and she yatzaq (poured) out.
It happened, when the containers were malaa (full), that she amar (said) to her ban (son), “nagash (bring) me kalay (another) container.” He amar (said) to her, “There isn't kalay (another) container.” The shaman (oil) stopped flowing.
Then she bawaa (come) and nagad (told) the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (). He amar (spoke), “yalak (go), makar (sell) the shaman (oil), and shalam (pay) your nashay (debt); and you and your ban (son) chayah (live) on the yathar (rest).”
It fell on a yawam (day), that Alayashai (Elisha) ibar (pass over/through) to Shawanam (Shunem), where there was a prominent ayashah (woman / wife); and she persuaded him to akal (eat) lacham (bread). So it was, that as often as he ibar (pass over/through) by, he sawar (turned) in there to akal (eat) lacham (bread).
She amar (spoke) to her ayash (man / husband), “See now, I yadai (perceive) that this is a qadawash (holy) ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (), that passes by us continually.
Please let us ishah (make) a qatan (small / young / least) room on the qayar (wall). Let us shawam (place / establish / appoint) for him there a matah (bed), a shalachan (table), a chair, and a manawarah (lamp) stand. It shall be, when he bawaa (bring) to us, that he shall sawar (turn) in there.”
One yawam (day) he bawaa (bring) there, and he sawar (turned) into the room and shakab (lay) there.
He amar (said) to Gayachazay (Gehazi) his nair (servant), “qaraa (called) this Shunammite.” When he had qaraa (called) her, she imad (stood) panayam (face) him.
He amar (said) to him, “amar (said) now to her, ‘Behold, you have cared for us with all this charadah (care). What is to be ishah (make) for you? Would you like to be dabar (word / matter) for to the malak (king), or to the shar (prince / ruler) of the tzabaa (troop)?’” She amar (said), “I yashab (inhabit/dwell) thawak (midst) my own im (nation / people).”
He amar (said), “What then is to be ishah (make) for her?” Gayachazay (Gehazi) amar (said), “Most certainly she has no ban (son), and her ayash (man / husband) is zaqan (old).”
He amar (said), “qaraa (called) her.” When he had qaraa (called) her, she imad (stood) in the pathach (door).
He amar (spoke), “At this mawaid (Feast/Holy Day), when the ith (time) comes around, you will chabaq (embrace) a ban (son).” She amar (spoke), “No, my Adawan (), you ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (), do not kazab (lie) to your handmaid.”
The ayashah (woman / wife) harah (conceived), and yalad (birth / begot) a ban (son) at that mawaid (Feast/Holy Day), when the ith (time) came around, as Alayashai (Elisha) had dabar (word / matter) to her.
When the yalad (birth / begot) was gadal (grown), it happened one yawam (day) that he yatzaa (go out / come out) out to his ab (father) to the qatzarayam (reapers).
He amar (said) to his ab (father), “My raash (head)! My raash (head)!” He amar (said) to his nair (servant), “nashaa (lift) him to his am (mother).”
When he had nashaa (lift) him, and bawaa (bring) him to his am (mother), he yashab (inhabit/dwell) on her barak (blessed) until tzahar (noon), and then mawath (death).
She ilah (go up / offer) up and shakab (laid) him on the matah (bed) of the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (), and sagar (shut) the door on him, and yatzaa (go out / come out) out.
She qaraa (called) to her ayash (man / husband), and amar (spoke), “Please shalach (send) me achad (one) of the nairayam (servants), and achad (one) of the donkeys, that I may rawatz (run) to the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (), and shawab (turn back / repent) again.”
He amar (said), “Why would you want halak (move) to him today? It is neither new chadash (month) nor shabath (shabath / rest).” She amar (said), “It's alright.”
Then she chabash (saddled) a donkey, and amar (said) to her nair (servant), “nahag (drive), and yalak (go) forward! Don't slow down for me, unless I ask you to.”
So she yalak (went), and bawaa (come) to the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () to har (mountain) Karamal (Carmel). It happened, when the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () raah (see) her afar off, that he amar (spoke) to Gayachazay (Gehazi) his nair (servant), “Behold, there is the Shunammite.
Please rawatz (run) now to qaraah (meet) her, and ask her, ‘Is it shalawam (peace / safety) with you? Is it shalawam (peace / safety) with your ayash (man / husband)? Is it shalawam (peace / safety) with the yalad (birth / begot)?’” She amar (said), “It is shalawam (peace / safety).”
When she bawaa (come) to the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () to the har (mountain), she chazaq (caught) hold of his ragal (feet / foot). Gayachazay (Gehazi) nagash (came) near to hadap (thrust) her away; but the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () amar (spoke), “Leave her rapah (alone); for her napash (soul) is troubled within her; and Yahawah () has ilam (hidden) it from me, and has not nagad (told) me.”
Then she amar (spoke), “Did I shaal (desire) a ban (son) of my Adawan ()? Didn't I amar (spoke), ‘Do not shalah (deceive) me’?”
Then he amar (said) to Gayachazay (Gehazi), “Tuck your cloak into your belt, laqach (take / seize) my mashainah (staff) in your yad (hand), and go your yalak (way). If you matzaa (meet) any ayash (man / husband), don't greet him; and if anyone greets you, don't inah (answer / respond) him again. Then shawam (place / establish / appoint) my mashainah (staff) on the panayam (face) of the nair (child).”
The am (mother) of the nair (child) amar (spoke), “As Yahawah () chay (life), and as your napash (soul) chay (life), I will not izab (leave) you.” He qawam (rise up), and yalak (followed) her.
Gayachazay (Gehazi) ibar (pass over/through) on panayam (face) them, and shawam (place / establish / appoint) the mashainah (staff) on the panayam (face) of the nair (child); but there was neither qawal (sound / voice), nor qashab (hearing). Therefore he shawab (turn) to qaraah (meet) him, and nagad (told) him, amar (said), “The nair (child) has not awakened.”
When Alayashai (Elisha) bawaa (bring) come into the bayath (house), behold, the nair (child) was mawath (death), and shakab (laid) on his matah (bed).
He bawaa (come) in therefore, and sagar (shut) the dalath (door) on them shanayam (two), and palal (prayed) to Yahawah ().
He ilah (go up / offer) up, and shakab (lay) on the yalad (birth / begot), and shawam (place / establish / appoint) his pah (mouth) on his pah (mouth), and his iyan (eye) on his iyan (eye), and his kap (hands) on his kap (hands). He gahar (stretched) himself on him; and the bashar (flesh) of the yalad (birth / begot) grew chamam (warm).
Then he shawab (turn), and yalak (walked) in the bayath (house) achad (one) back and forth; and ilah (go up / offer) up, and gahar (stretched) himself on him. Then the nair (child) zarar (sneezed) shabai (seven) paimayam (times), and the nair (child) paqach (opened) his iyan (eye).
He qaraa (called) Gayachazay (Gehazi), and amar (said), “qaraa (called) this Shunammite!” So he qaraa (called) her. When she bawaa (bring) come in to him, he amar (said), “nashaa (lift) up your ban (son).”
Then she bawaa (bring) in, and napal (fall / be cast down) at his ragal (feet / foot), and shachah (bowed) herself to the aratz (Earth/land); and she nashaa (lift) up her ban (son), and yatzaa (go out / come out) out.
Alayashai (Elisha) shawab (turn) again to Galagal (Gilgal). There was a raib (famine) in the aratz (Earth/land); and the banay (my son) of the nabayaayam (prophets) were sitting panayam (face) him; and he amar (said) to his nair (servant), “shapath (set) on the gadawal (very great/important/mighty) sayar (pot), and bashal (boil) stew for the banay (my son) of the nabayaayam (prophets).”
Achad (one) yatzaa (go out / come out) out into the shadah (field) to laqat (gather) arath (herbs), and matzaa (found) a shadah (wild) gapan (vine), and laqat (gathered) of it shadah (wild) paqaith (gourds) his bagad (lap) malaa (full), and bawaa (bring) and palach (shred) them into the sayar (pot) of stew; for they didn't recognize them.
So they yatzaq (poured) out for the anashayam (men) to akal (eat). It happened, as they were akal (eat) of the stew, that they tzaiq (cried) out, and amar (spoke), “ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (), there is mawath (death) in the sayar (pot)!” They yakal (could) not akal (eat) of it.
But he amar (said), “Then laqach (take / seize) qamach (meal).” He shalak (cast) it into the sayar (pot); and he amar (said), “yatzaq (pour) out for the im (nation / people), that they may akal (eat).” There was no dabar (word / matter) in the sayar (pot).
A ayash (man / husband) from Bailashalashah (Baal Shalishah) bawaa (come), and bawaa (come) the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () lacham (bread) of the bakawar (first) bakawarayam (fruits), isharayam (twenty) loaves of shairah (barley), and fresh karamal (ears) of grain in his sack. He amar (spoke), “nathan (give) to the im (nation / people), that they may akal (eat).”
His sharath (servant) amar (spoke), “What, should I nathan (give) this panayam (face) a maah (hundred) ayash (man / husband)?” But he amar (spoke), “nathan (give) the im (nation / people), that they may akal (eat); for thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), ‘They will akal (eat), and will have some yathar (left) over.’”
So he nathan (give) it panayam (face) them, and they akal (eat), and yathar (left) some of it, according to the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah ().
