9 WaYaShalach (And sent) Ayash (man) HaAlahayam (the God) Al-Malak (to king) Yashar-Al (Israel), LaAmar (saying), “HaShamar (keep/guard) MaIbar (Beware from pass) HaMaqawam (such the place); HaZah (this / that / these) Kay-Sham (surely there) Aram (Syrians) Nachathayam (coming down - plural).”
10 WaYaShalach (And sent) Malak (king) Yashar-Al (Israel) Al-HaMaqawam (to the place) AsharaYaAmar (who/that told) Law (for him) Ayash (man) HaAlahayam (the God) WaHaZahayaraw (and him [causing] warned); WaYaNaShamar (and he saved) Sham (himself), Laa (NOT) Achath (one) WaLaa (And not) Shanathayam (two).

13 WaYaAmar (And he said), “Yalakaw (you go) WaRaahaw (and you see) Ayakah (where), Hawaa (which/who/that is) WaAShalach (And I send) WaALaqachaw (And I get him).” WaYaNagad (and it told), Law (for him) LaAmar (saying), “Hanah (Behold), BaDathan (in Dothan).”
14 WaYaShalach (And he sent) Shamah (there) Sawasayam (horses), WaRakab (and chariots), WaChayal (and army) Kabad (very grievous). WaYaBawaaw (and came) Layalah (night), WaYaNaqapaw (and 𐤍𐤒𐤐) Il-HaIyar (over surrounded the city).
15 WaYaShakam (And early), MaSharath (servant) Ayash (man) HaAlahayam (the God) LaQawam (risen) WaYaYatzaa (and gone out), WaHanah (and behold), Chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor) Sawabab (surrounds / encompasses) Ath-HaIyar (the entirety of around the city) WaSawas (and horses) WaRakab (and chariots). WaYaAkalaw (and eaten) WaYaShathahaw (and drunk), WaYaShalacham (and he sent them away), WaYaYalakaw (and went) Al-Adawanayam (to their master). WaLaa (And not) Yasapaw (again / another) Iwad (more/again) Gadawaday (bands) Aram (Syria) LaBawaa (coming) BaAratz (stopped in land) Yashar-Al (Israel).
24 WaYaHayah (And came to pass) Acharay (after/following), Ban-Hadad (Benhadad) Kan (for sure) WaYaQabatz (and gathered) Malak (king) Aram (Syria) Ath-Kal (the entirety of every) Machanahaw (his army), WaYaIlah (and went up) WaYaTzawar (and besieged) Il (over) Shamarawan (Samaria).

26 WaYaHayah (And came to pass) Malak (king) Yashar-Al (Israel) Ibar (pass over/through) Il-HaChawamah (over the wall), WaAyashah (and woman) Tzaiqah (cried), Alayaw (to him) LaAmar (saying), “HaYawashayaih ([causing] help - emphatic), Adawan (), HaMalak (the king)!”
27 WaYaAmar (And he said), “Al (not) YaYawashaik (help you), Yahawah () MaAyan (from where) AYawashayaik (I help you)? HaMan-HaGaran (from the threshing floor), AwaMan-HaYaqab (or from the winepress)?”
28 WaYaAmar (And said), “Lah (ails her)?” HaMalak (the king) Mah (what / why / how) Lak (for you) WaThaAmar (and you answered), “HaAyashah (this woman) HaZaath (this) Amarah (said), Alay (to me) ‘Nathanay (you give) Ath-Banak (the entirety of your son), WaNaAkalaw (and we eat him) HaYawam (the today), WaAth-Banay (and the entirety of my son) NaAkal (we eat) Machar (tomorrow).’
29 WaNaBashal (And we boiled) Ath-Banay (the entirety of my son), WaNaAkalaw (and we ate him): WaAAmar (And I said) Alayah (to her) BaYawam (in day), HaAchar (the next) ‘Nathanay (you give) Ath-Banak (the entirety of your son), WaNaAkalaw (and we eat him);’ WaThaChabaa (and you hidden) Ath-Banah (the entirety of her son).”
30 It happened, HaMalak (when the king) KaShamai (as heard) Dabaray (Dabaray) HaAyashah (of the woman), WaYaQarai (and that he tore) his clothes (pass over/through on the wall); HaIm (and the people) WaYaRaah (and looked), and behold, he had sackcloth underneath Basharaw (on his flesh).
31 WaYaAmar (And he said), “Kah (𐤊𐤄) YaIshah (do), Lay (more also me), Alahayam (God) WaKah (and 𐤊𐤄) YaYawasap (again / another) Am-YaImad (although - rhetorical stay) Raash (head) Alayashai (Elisha) Ban (son) Shapat (Shaphat) Ilayaw (went up him) HaYawam (this day).”
