Chronicles 11 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Then all Yashar-Al (Israel) qabatz (gathered) themselves to Dawad (David) to Chabarawan (Hebron), amar (said), “Behold, we are your itzam (bone) and your bashar (flesh).

In thamawal (times) shalashawam (past), even when Shaawal (Saul) was malak (king), it was you who yatzaa (go out / come out) out and bawaa (come) in Yashar-Al (Israel). Yahawah () your Alahayam () amar (spoke) to you, ‘You shall be raih (shepherd) of my im (nation / people) Yashar-Al (Israel), and you shall be nagayad (prince) over my gam (indeed / moreover) Yashar-Al (Israel).’”

So all the zaqanay (elders) of Yashar-Al (Israel) bawaa (come) to the malak (king) to Chabarawan (Hebron); and Dawad (David) karath (cut) a barayath (covenant) with them in Chabarawan (Hebron) panayam (face) Yahawah (); and they mashach (anointed) Dawad (David) malak (king) over Yashar-Al (Israel), according to the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () by Shamawaal (Samuel).

Dawad (David) and all Yashar-Al (Israel) yalak (went) to Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) (the same is Yabawas (Jebus)); and the Yabawasay (Jebusites), the yashabay (inhabitants) of the aratz (Earth/land), were there.

The yashabay (inhabitants) of Yabawas (Jebus) amar (said) to Dawad (David), “You shall not bawaa (bring) in here.” Nevertheless Dawad (David) lakad (took) the stronghold of Tzayawan (Zion). The same is the iyar (city) of Dawad (David).

Dawad (David) amar (said), “Whoever nakah (strikes) the Yabawasay (Jebusites) raashawan (first) shall be raash (head) and shar (prince / ruler).” Yawaab (Yawaab / Joab) the ban (son) of Tzarawayah (Zeruiah) ilah (go up / offer) up raashawan (first), and was made raash (head).

Dawad (David) lived in the stronghold; therefore they qaraa (called) it the iyar (city) of Dawad (David).

He banah (build) the iyar (city) all around, from Malawaa (Millo) even around; and Yawaab (Yawaab / Joab) chayah (repaired) the shaar (rest) of the iyar (city).

Dawad (David) yalak (grew) halak (move) and halak (move); for Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies) was with him.

Now these are the raash (head) of the gabawar (mighty) men whom Dawad (David) had, who showed themselves chazaq (strong) with him in his malakawath (kingdom), together with all Yashar-Al (Israel), to make him malak (king), according to the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () concerning Yashar-Al (Israel).

This is the masapar (number) of the gabawar (mighty) men whom Dawad (David) had: Yashabaim (Jashobeam), the son of a Chakamawanay (Hachmonite), the raash (head) of the shalawashayam (thirty); he iwar (rouse / awaken) up his chanayath (spear) against shalawash (three) maah (hundred) and chalal (killed) them at achad (one) paim (time).

Achar (other) him was Alaizar (Eleazar) the ban (son) of Dawadaw (Dodo), the Achawachay (Ahohite), who was one of the shalawash (three) gabawar (mighty) men.

He was with Dawad (David) at Pasadamayam (Pasdammim), and there the Palashathay (Philistines) were asap (gathered) together to malachamah (battle), where there was a plot of shadah (ground) malaa (full) of shairah (barley); and the im (nation / people) nawas (fled) from panayam (face) the Palashathay (Philistines).

They yatzab (stood) in the thawak (midst) of the plot, and natzal (defended) it, and nakah (killed) the Palashathay (Philistines); and Yahawah () natzal (saved) them by a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) thashawaih (deliverance).

Shalawash (three) of the shalawashayam (thirty) raash (head) men yarad (went) down to the tzawar (rock) to Dawad (David), into the mairah (cave) of Idalam (Adullam); and the machanah (army) of the Palashathay (Philistines) were chanah (encamped) in the imaq (valley) of Rapaa (Rephaim).

Dawad (David) was then in the stronghold, and the natzayab (garrison) of the Palashathay (Philistines) was then in Bayath-Lacham (Bethlehem).

Dawad (David) awah (longed), and amar (said), “Oh that one would give me mayam (Waters) to shaqah (drink) of the bawar (well) of Bayath-Lacham (Bethlehem), which is by the shair (gate)!”

The shalawash (three) baqai (broke) through the machanah (army) of the Palashathay (Philistines), and shaab (drew) mayam (Waters) out of the bawar (well) of Bayath-Lacham (Bethlehem), that was by the shair (gate), and nashaa (lift) it, and bawaa (come) it to Dawad (David): but Dawad (David) would not shathah (drinks) of it, but nasak (poured) it out to Yahawah (),

And amar (spoke), “My Alahayam () chalayalah (forbid) it me, that I should ishah (make) zaath (this)! Shall I shathah (drinks) the dam (blood) of these ishaw (men) who napash (soul) put their lives in jeopardy?” For they risked their lives to bawaa (come) it. Therefore he would not shathah (drinks) it. The shalawash (three) gabawar (mighty) ishaw (men) did these things.

Abayashay (Abishai), the ach (brother/kinsman) of Yawaab (Yawaab / Joab), he was raash (head) of the shalawash (three); for he iwar (rouse / awaken) up his chanayath (spear) against shalawash (three) maah (hundred) and chalal (killed) them, and had a sham (name) among the shalawash (three).

Of the shalawash (three), he was more honorable than the shanayam (two), and was made their shar (prince / ruler): however he didn't bawaa (bring) to the shalawash (three).

He nakah (killed) an Matzaray (Egyptian), a ayash (man / husband) of great madah (stature), chamash (five) amah (cubits) high; and in the Matzaray (Egyptian's) yad (hand) was a chanayath (spear) like a aragayam (weavers) manawar (beam); and he yarad (went) down to him with a shabat (staff), and gazal (plucked) the chanayath (spear) out of the Matzaray (Egyptian's) yad (hand), and harag (kill) him with his own chanayath (spear).

Banayah (Benaiah) the ban (son) of Yahawayadai (Jehoiada) ishah (make) these things, and had a sham (name) among the shalawash (three) gabawar (mighty) men.

Han (behold), he was more honorable than the shalawashayam (thirty), but he didn't bawaa (bring) to the shalawash (three): and Dawad (David) shawam (place / establish / appoint) him over his mashamaith (guard).
