2 Chronicles 35 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 Yaashayah (Josiah) ishah (make) a pasach (passover) to Yahawah () in Yarawashalam (Jerusalem): and they shachat (killed) the pasach (passover) on the fourteenth day of the raashawan (first) chadash (month).

2 He imad (set) the kahanayam (priests) in their mashamarath (duty / watch), and chazaq (encouraged) them to the ibadah (service) of the bayath (house) of Yahawah ().

3 He amar (spoke) to the Lawayay (Levites) who bayan (between) all Yashar-Al (Israel), who were qadawash (holy) to Yahawah (), “nathan (give) the qadash (set apart / make holy) arawan (ark) in the bayath (house) which Shalamah (Solomon) the ban (son) of Dawad (David) malak (king) of Yashar-Al (Israel) banah (build). There shall no more be a mashaa (burden) on your kathap (shoulders). Now ibad (servant) Yahawah () your Alahayam (), and his im (nation / people) Yashar-Al (Israel).

4 Kawan (prepare) yourselves after your ab (father)’ bayath (house) by your machalaqath (divisions), according to the kathab (write) of Dawad (David) malak (king) of Yashar-Al (Israel), and according to the makathab (writing) of Shalamah (Solomon - Patriarch) his ban (son).

5 Imad (stand) in the qadash (set apart / make holy) place according to the palagawath (divisions) of the abawath (fathers)’ bayath (house) of your ach (brother/kinsman) the children of the banay (my son), and let there be for each a portion of a abawath (fathers)’ house of the Lawayay (Levites).

6 Shachat (kill) the pasach (passover), and qadash (set apart / make holy) yourselves, and kawan (prepare) for your ach (brother/kinsman), to ishah (make) according to the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () by Mashah (Moses).”

7 Yaashayah (Josiah) rawam (will lift up) to the children of the banay (my son), of the tzaan (flock), kabashayam (lambs) and ban (son) goats, all of them for the pasach (passover) offerings, to all who were matzaa (present), to the masapar (number) of shalawashayam (thirty) alap (thousand), and shalawash (three) alap (thousand) baqar (morning): these were of the malak (king) rakawash (wealth / property / goods / possessions).

8 His shar (prince / ruler) rawam (will lift up) for a freewill nadabah (voluntary / freewill offering) to the im (nation / people), to the kahanayam (priests), and to the Lawayay (Levites). Chalaqayah (Hilkiah) and Zakarayah (Zechariah) and Yachayaal (Jehiel), the nagayaday (rulers) of the bayath (house) of Alahayam (), nathan (give) to the kahanayam (priests) for the pasach (passover) offerings two alap (thousand) and shash (six) maah (hundred) small livestock, and shalawash (three) maah (hundred) baqar (morning) of cattle.

9 Kawananayahaw (Conaniah) also, and Shamaiyah (Shemaiah) and Nathanaal (Nethanel), his ach (brother/kinsman), and Chashabayah (Hashabiah) and Yaiyaal (Jeiel) and Yawazabad (Jozabad), the sharay (chiefs) of the Lawayay (Levites), rawam (will lift up) to the Lawayay (Levites) for the pasach (passover) offerings chamash (five) alap (thousand) small livestock, and chamash (five) maah (hundred) baqar (morning) of cattle.

10 So the ibadah (service) was kawan (prepared), and the kahanayam (priests) imad (stood) in their imad (place), and the Lawayay (Levites) by their machalaqath (divisions), according to the malak (king) matzawah (commandment).

11 They shachat (killed) the pasach (passover), and the kahanayam (priests) zaraq (sprinkled) the blood which they received of their yad (hand), and the Lawayay (Levites) pashat (flayed) them.

12 They sawar (removed) the burnt ilah (offerings), that they might nathan (give) them according to the mapalagawath (divisions) of the abawath (fathers)’ houses of the children of the banay (people), to qarab (come close) to Yahawah (), as it is kathab (write) in the sapar (book / scribed document) of Mashah (Moses). So they did with the cattle.

13 They bashal (roasted) the pasach (passover) with ash (fire) according to the mashapat (ordinance): and the qadash (set apart / make holy) offerings bashal (boiled) they in sayarawath (pots), and in dawadayam (caldrons), and in tzalachawath (pans), and carried them quickly to all the children of the banay (my son).

14 Afterward they kawan (prepared) for themselves, and for the kahanayam (priests), because the kahanayam (priests) the banay (my son) of Aharawan (Aaron) were busy with ilah (go up / offer) the burnt ilah (go up / offer) and the chalab (fat) until layal (night): therefore the Lawayay (Levites) kawan (prepared) for themselves, and for the kahanayam (priests) the banay (my son) of Aharawan (Aaron).

15 The singers the banay (my son) of Asap (Asaph) were in their maimad (place), according to the matzawah (commandment) of Dawad (David), and Asap (Asaph), and Hayaman (Heman), and Yadawathawan (Jeduthun) the malak (king) chazah (seer); and the shairayam (porters) were at every shair (gate): they didn't need to sawar (depart) from their ibadah (service); for their ach (brother/kinsman) the Lawayay (Levites) kawan (prepared) for them.

16 So all the ibadah (service) of Yahawah () was kawan (prepared) the same yawam (day), to ishah (make) the pasach (passover), and to ilah (go up / offer) burnt ilawath (offerings) on the mazabach (altar) of Yahawah (), according to the matzawah (commandment) of malak (king) Yaashayah (Josiah).

17 The banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) who were matzaa (present) ishah (make) the pasach (passover) at that ith (time), and the chag (feast/festival) of unleavened matzah (bread) shabai (seven) yamayam (days).

18 There was no pasach (passover) kamaw (like) that ishah (make) in Yashar-Al (Israel) from the yamay (days) of Shamawaal (Samuel) the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy); neither ishah (make) any of the malakay (kings) of Yashar-Al (Israel) ishah (make) such a pasach (passover) as Yaashayah (Josiah) ishah (make), and the kahanayam (priests), and the Lawayay (Levites), and all Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) and Yashar-Al (Israel) who were matzaa (present), and the yawashabay (inhabitants) of Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem).

19 In the eighteenth shanah (year) of the malakawath (reign) of Yaashayah (Josiah) was this pasach (passover) ishah (make).

20 Achar (other) all this, when Yaashayah (Josiah) had kawan (prepared) the bayath (house), Nakaw (Neco) malak (king) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt) ilah (go up / offer) up to lacham (fight) against Karakamayash (Carchemish) by the Parath (Euphrates): and Yaashayah (Josiah) yatzaa (go out / come out) out qaraah (against) him.

21 But he shalach (send) malaakayam (ambassadors) to him, amar (spoke), “What have I to do with you, you malak (king) of Yahawadah (Judah)? I come not against you this yawam (day), but against the bayath (house) with which I have malachamah (war). Alahayam () has commanded me to bahal (make) haste. Beware that it is Alahayam () who is with me, that he not shachath (destroy) you.”

22 Nevertheless Yaashayah (Josiah) would not sabab (turn) his panayam (face) from him, but disguised himself, that he might lacham (fight) with him, and didn't shamai (hearken / hear) to the dabaray (words) of Nakaw (Neco) from the pah (mouth) of Alahayam (), and bawaa (come) to lacham (fight) in the baqaih (valley) of Magadawan (Megiddo).

23 The yaraw (archers) yarah (shot) at malak (king) Yaashayah (Josiah); and the malak (king) amar (said) to his ibad (servant), “ibar (pass over/through) me away, because I am seriously chalah (afflict)!”

24 So his ibad (servant) ibar (pass over/through) him out of the marakabah (chariot), and rakab (put) him in the mashanah (second) rakab (chariot) that he had, and yalak (brought) him to Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem); and he mawath (death), and was qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher) in the tombs of his ab (father). All Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) and Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) abal (mourned) for Yaashayah (Josiah).

25 Yaramayah (Jeremiah) qawan (lamented) for Yaashayah (Josiah): and all the shayar (singing) men and shayar (singing) women amar (said) of Yaashayah (Josiah) in their qayanawath (lamentations) to this yawam (day); and they nathan (give) them an chaq (statute) in Yashar-Al (Israel): and behold, they are kathab (write) in the qayanawath (lamentations).

26 Now the yathar (rest) of the dabaray (acts) of Yaashayah (Josiah), and his chasad (grace) deeds, according to that which is kathab (write) in the thawarah (instruction) of Yahawah (),

27 And his dabar (word / matter), raashawan (first) and acharawan (last), behold, they are kathab (write) in the sapar (book / scribed document) of the malakay (kings) of Yashar-Al (Israel) and Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah).
