Ezra 3 — English–Hebrew Parallel

When the shabayaiy (seventh) chadash (month) had nagai (come), and the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) were in the irayam (cities), the im (nation / people) asap (gathered) themselves together as achad (one) ayash (man / husband) to Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem).

Then qawam (rise up) up Yashawai (Jeshua) the ban (son) of Yawatzadaq (Jozadak), and his ach (brother/kinsman) the kahanayam (priests), and Zarababal (Zerubbabel) the ban (son) of Shaalathayaal (Shealtiel), and his ach (brother/kinsman), and banah (build) the mazabach (altar) of the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), to ilah (go up / offer) burnt ilawath (offerings) thereon, as it is kathab (write) in the thawarah (instruction) of Mashah (Moses) the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam ().

They kawan (set) the mazabach (altar) on its makawanah (base); for ayamah (fear) was on them because of the imay (peoples) of the aratzawath (countries): and they ilah (go up / offer) burnt ilawath (offerings) thereon to Yahawah (), even burnt ilawath (offerings) baqar (morning) and irab (evening).

They ishah (make) the chag (feast/festival) of sakawath (tents), as it is kathab (write), and offered the yawam (day) burnt ilah (offerings) by masapar (number), according to the mashapat (ordinance), as the dabar (word / matter) of every yawam (day) yawam (day);

And afterward the thamayad (continual) burnt ilah (offering), and the offerings of the new chadashayam (moons), and of all the mawaid (Feast/Holy Day) feasts of Yahawah () that were qadash (set apart / make holy), and of everyone who nadab (willingly) offered a freewill nadab (offering) to Yahawah ().

From the achad (one) yawam (day) of the shabayaiy (seventh) chadash (month) chalal (began) they to ilah (go up / offer) burnt ilawath (offerings) to Yahawah (): but the yasad (foundation) of the hayakal (temple) of Yahawah () was not yet yasad (laid).

They nathan (give) kasap (money) also to the chatzabayam (masons), and to the charashayam (carpenters); and maakal (food), and mashathah (drink), and shaman (oil), to them of tzayadanay (sidon), and to them of tzaray (tyre), to bawaa (bring) araz (cedar) itzay (trees) from Labanawan (Lebanon) to the yam (sea/waters), to Yapaw (Joppa), according to the rashayawan (grant) that they had of Kawarash (Cyrus) malak (king) of Paras (Persia).

Now in the shanay (second) shanah (year) of their bawaa (come) to the bayath (house) of Alahayam () at Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), in the shanay (second) chadash (month), chalal (began) Zarababal (Zerubbabel) the ban (son) of Shaalathayaal (Shealtiel), and Yashawai (Jeshua) the ban (son) of Yawatzadaq (Jozadak), and the shaar (rest) of their ach (brother/kinsman) the kahanayam (priests) and the Lawayay (Levites), and all those who were bawaa (come) out of the shabay (captivity) to Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), and imad (appointed) the Lawayay (Levites), from isharayam (twenty) shanah (years) ban (son) and upward, to have the oversight of the malaakah (work) of the bayath (house) of Yahawah ().

Then imad (stood) Yashawai (Jeshua) with his banay (sons) and his ach (brother/kinsman), Qadamayaal (Kadmiel) and his banay (sons), the banay (sons) of Yahawadah (Judah), achad (one), to have the oversight of the workmen in the bayath (house) of Alahayam (): the banay (sons) of Chanadad (Henadad), with their banay (sons) and their ach (brother/kinsman) the Lawayay (Levites).

When the banayam (builders) yasad (laid) the foundation of the hayakal (temple) of Yahawah (), they imad (set) the kahanayam (priests) in their labash (clothing) with chatzatzarawath (trumpets), and the Lawayay (Levites) the banay (sons) of Asap (Asaph) with matzalathayam (cymbals), to halal (praise) Yahawah (), after the yad (hand) of Dawad (David) malak (king) of Yashar-Al (Israel).

They inah (answer / respond) one to another in halal (praise) and giving yadah (thanks) to Yahawah (), “For he is tawab (good / proper function), for his loving chasad (grace) endures iwalam (forever) toward Yashar-Al (Israel).” All the im (nation / people) rawai (shouted) with a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) tharawaih (shout), when they halal (praise) Yahawah (), because the yasad (foundation) of the bayath (house) of Yahawah () was yasad (laid).

But many of the kahanayam (priests) and Lawayay (Levites) and raashay (heads) of abawath (fathers)’ households, the zaqan (old) men who raah (see / saw) seen the raashawan (first) bayath (house), when the yasad (foundation) of this bayath (house) was yasad (laid) before their iyan (eye), bakah (wept) with a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) qawal (sound / voice); and many tharawaih (shouted) aloud for shamachah (joy):

So that the im (nation / people) nakar (could) not discern the qawal (sound / voice) of the tharawaih (shout) of shamachah (joy) from the qawal (sound / voice) of the bakay (weeping) of the im (nation / people); for the im (nation / people) rawai (shouted) with a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) tharawaih (shout), and the qawal (sound / voice) was shamai (hearken / hear) rachawaq (afar) off.
