Esther 9 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Now in the shanayam (two) chadash (month), which is the chadash (month) Adar (Adar), on the thirteenth yawam (day) of the month, when the malak (king) commandment and his dath (decree) nagai (drew) near to be ishah (make) in execution, on the yawam (day) that the ayabay (enemies) of the Yahawaday (Jews) shabar (hoped) to conquer them, (but it was hapak (turned) out the opposite happened, that the Yahawaday (Jews) conquered those who shanaa (hate) them),

The Yahawaday (Jews) qahal (gathered) themselves together in their iyar (cities) throughout all the madayanawath (provinces) of the malak (king) Achashawarawash (Ahasuerus), to shalach (send) yad (hand) on those who wanted to rai (harm) them. No ayash (man / husband) could withstand them, because the pachad (fear / dread) of them napal (fall / be cast down) fallen on all the imayam (people).

All the sharay (princes) of the madayanawath (provinces), the satraps, the pachawath (governors), and those who did the malak (king) business nashaa (lift) the Yahawaday (Jews), because the pachad (fear / dread) of Maradakay (Mordecai) napal (fall / be cast down) fallen on them.

For Maradakay (Mordecai) was gadawal (very great/important/mighty) in the malak (king) bayath (house), and his shamai (fame) halak (move) out throughout all the madayanawath (provinces); for the ayash (man / husband) Maradakay (Mordecai) halak (move) greater and greater.

The Yahawaday (Jews) nakah (struck) all their ayab (enemy) with the makah (stroke) of the charab (sword), and with harag (kill) and abadan (destruction), and ishah (make) what they wanted to those who shanaa (hate) them.

In the citadel of Shawashan (Susa), the Yahawaday (Jews) harag (kill) and abad (destroy / perish) chamash (five) maah (hundred) ayash (man / husband).

They killed Parashanadathaa (Parshandatha), Dalapawan (Dalphon), Asapathaa (Aspatha),

Pawarathaa (Poratha), Adalayaa (Adalia), Arayadathaa (Aridatha),

Paramashathaa (Parmashta), Arayasay (Arisai), Arayaday (Aridai), and Wayazathaa (Vaizatha),

The ishar (ten) banay (my son) of Haman (Haman) the ban (son) of Madathaa (Hammedatha), the yahawadayam (jews)’ tzarar (enemy), but they didn't shalach (send) their yad (hand) on the plunder.

On that yawam (day), the masapar (number) of those who were harag (kill) in the citadel of Shawashan (Susa) was bawaa (bring) panayam (face) the malak (king).

The malak (king) amar (said) to Asathar (Esther) the malakah (queen), “The Yahawaday (Jews) have harag (kill) and abad (destroy / perish) chamash (five) maah (hundred) ayash (man / husband) in the citadel of Shawashan (Susa), including the ishar (ten) banay (my son) of Haman (Haman); what then ishah (make) they done in the shaar (rest) of the malak (king) madayanawath (provinces)! Now what is your shaalah (petition)? It shall be nathan (give) you. What is your iwad (more/again) baqashah (request)? It shall be ishah (make).”

Then Asathar (Esther) amar (said), “If it pleases the malak (king), nathan (give) it be granted to the Yahawaday (Jews) who are in Shawashan (Shushan) to ishah (make) machar (tomorrow) also according to this yawam (day) dath (decree), and let Haman (Haman's) ishar (ten) banay (my son) be hanged on the itz (gallows).”

The malak (king) commanded this to be ishah (make). A decree was nathan (give) out in Shawashan (Shushan); and they hanged Haman (Haman's) ishar (ten) banay (my son).

The Yahawaday (Jews) who were in Shawashan (Shushan) qahal (gathered) themselves together on the fourteenth yawam (day) also of the chadash (month) Adar (Adar), and harag (kill) shalawash (three) maah (hundred) ayash (man / husband) in Shawashan (Shushan); but they didn't shalach (send) their yad (hand) on the bazah (spoil).

The other Yahawaday (Jews) who were in the malak (king) madayanawath (provinces) qahal (gathered) themselves together, defended their lives, had nawach (rest) from their ayab (enemy), and harag (kill) shabaiyam (seventy) - chamash (five) alap (thousand) of those who shanaa (hate) them; but they didn't shalach (send) their yad (hand) on the plunder.

This was done on the thirteenth yawam (day) of the chadash (month) Adar (Adar); and on the fourteenth day of that month they nawach (rested) and ishah (make) it a yawam (day) of mashathah (feasting) and shamachah (gladness).

But the Yahawaday (Jews) who were in Shawashan (Shushan) qahal (assembled) together on the thirteenth and on the fourteenth chamash (days) of the month; and on the fifteenth day of that month, they nawach (rested), and ishah (make) it a yawam (day) of mashathah (feasting) and shamachah (gladness).

Therefore the Yahawaday (Jews) of the parawazayam (villages), who live in the parazah (unwalled) iray (towns), ishah (make) the fourteenth yawam (day) of the chadash (month) Adar (Adar) a day of shamachah (gladness) and mashathah (feasting), a tawab (good / proper function) yawam (day), and a yawam (day) of mashalawach (sending) presents of food to ayash (man / husband) rai (neigbor/another person).

Maradakay (Mordecai) kathab (write) these things, and shalach (send) saparayam (letters) to all the Yahawaday (Jews) who were in all the madayanawath (provinces) of the malak (king) Achashawarawash (Ahasuerus), both qarawab (near) and rachawaq (far),

To qawam (rise up) them that they should ishah (make) the fourteenth and fifteenth yawam (day) of the chadash (month) Adar (Adar) yearly,

As the yamayam (days) in which the Yahawaday (Jews) had nawach (rest) from their ayab (enemy), and the chadash (month) which was hapak (turned) to them from yagawan (sorrow) to shamachah (gladness), and from abal (mourning) into a tawab (good / proper function) yawam (day); that they should ishah (make) them yamayam (days) of mashathah (feasting) and shamachah (gladness), and of mashalawach (sending) presents of food to ayash (man / husband) rai (neigbor/another person), and mathanawath (gifts) to the abayawan (needy).

The Yahawaday (Jews) accepted the custom that they had chalal (begun), as Maradakay (Mordecai) had kathab (write) to them;

Because Haman (Haman) the ban (son) of Madathaa (Hammedatha), the agagay (agagite), the tzarar (enemy) of all the Yahawaday (Jews), had plotted against the Yahawaday (Jews) to abad (destroy / perish) them, and napal (fall / be cast down) cast “Pawar (Pur)”, that is the gawaral (lot), to hamam (consume) them, and to abad (destroy / perish) them;

But when this became known to the malak (king), he commanded by sapar (book / scribed document) that his rai (wicked) machashabah (device), which he had chashab (devised) against the Yahawaday (Jews), should shawab (turn) on his own raash (head), and that he and his ban (son) should be hanged on the itz (gallows).

Therefore they qaraa (called) these yamayam (days) “Pawar (Purim)”, from the sham (name) “Pawar (Pur).” Therefore because of all the dabaray (words) of this agarath (letter), and of that which they raah (see / saw) seen concerning kakah (this) matter, and that which had nagai (come) to them,

The Yahawaday (Jews) qawam (rise up), and imposed on themselves, and on their descendants, and on all those who lawah (joined) themselves to them, so that it should not ibar (pass over/through), that they would ishah (make) these shanayam (two) yamayam (days) according to what was written, and according to its appointed zaman (time), every shanah (year);

And that these yamayam (days) should be zakar (remember) and ishah (make) throughout every dawar (generation / age / period), every mashapachah (tribe / clan / family), every madayanah (province), and every iyar (city); and that these yamayam (days) of Pawar (Purim) should not ibar (pass over/through) from thawak (midst) the Yahawaday (Jews), nor their zakar (remember) sawap (perish) from their zarai (seed).

Then Asathar (Esther) the malakah (queen), the banath (daughter) of Abayahayal (Abihail), and Maradakay (Mordecai) the Yahawaday (Jew), kathab (write) with all thaqap (authority) to qawam (rise up) this shanay (second) agarath (letter) of Pawar (Purim).

He shalach (send) saparayam (letters) to all the Yahawaday (Jews), to the maah (hundred) isharayam (twenty) - shabai (seven) madayanah (provinces) of the malakawath (kingdom) of Achashawarawash (Ahasuerus), with dabaray (words) of shalawam (peace / safety) and amath (truth),

To qawam (rise up) these yamay (days) of Pawar (Purim) in their appointed zaman (times), as Maradakay (Mordecai) the Yahawaday (Jew) and Asathar (Esther) the malakah (queen) had qawam (rise up), and as they had imposed upon themselves and their descendants, in the dabar (word / matter) of the tzamawath (fastings) and their zaiq (cry).

The commandment of Asathar (Esther) qawam (rise up) these dabaray (matters) of Pawar (Purim); and it was kathab (write) in the sapar (book / scribed document).
