Psalms 10 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Why do you imad (stand) rachawaq (far) off, Yahawah ()? Why do you ilam (hide) yourself in ithawath (times) of tzarah (trouble)?

In arrogance, the rashai (wicked) hunt down the weak. They are thapash (caught) in the schemes that they chashab (devise).

For the rashai (wicked) halal (praise) of his napash (soul) cravings. He blesses the batzai (greedy), and condemns Yahawah ().

The rashai (wicked), in the gabah (pride) of his ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting), has no room in his mazamah (thoughts) for Alahayam ().

His darak (ways) are prosperous at all ith (times). He is haughty, and your mashapat (laws) are far from his sight. As for all his tzarar (adversaries), he sneers at them.

He amar (said) in his lab (heart), “I shall not be mawat (shaken). For dawar (generation / age / period) I shall have no rai (trouble).”

His pah (mouth) is malaa (full) of alah (these), maramah (deceit), and oppression. Under his lashawan (tongue / language) is imal (mischief) and awan (iniquity).

He lies in maarab (wait) near the chatzarayam (villages). From ambushes, he harag (kill) the naqay (innocent). His iyan (eye) are secretly set against the helpless.

He lurks in masathar (secret) as a aray (lion) in his ambush. He lies in arab (wait) to chatap (catch) the helpless. He catches the helpless, when he mashak (draws) him in his rashath (net).

The helpless are crushed. They collapse. They napal (fall / be cast down) under his itzawam (strength).

He amar (said) in his lab (heart), “Al has shakach (forgotten). He sathar (hides) his panayam (face). He will never raah (see / saw) it.”

Qawam (rise up), Yahawah ()! Al, nashaa (lift) up your yad (hand)! Don't shakach (forget) the helpless.

Why does the rashai (wicked) person condemn Alahayam (), and amar (spoke) in his lab (heart), “Alahayam () won't call me into account?”

But you do nabat (see) imal (trouble) and kais (grief). You nathan (give) it to take it into your yad (hand). You izar (help) the victim and the yathawam (fatherless).

Shabar (break) the zarawai (arm) of the rashai (wicked). As for the rashai (evil) man, darash (seek) out his rai (wickedness) until you matzaa (find) bal (none).

Yahawah () is malak (king) id (until / as far as) and iwalam (forever)! The gawayam (nations) will abad (destroy / perish) out of his aratz (Earth/land).

Yahawah (), you have shamai (hearken / hear) the thaawah (desire) of the inaw (humble). You will kawan (prepare) their lab (heart). You will cause your azan (ear) to qashab (hear),

To shapat (judge / judgement) the yathawam (fatherless) and the dak (oppressed), that anawash (man) who is of the aratz (Earth/land) may terrify no more.
