Psalms 120 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 In my tzarah (distress), I qaraa (called) to Yahawah (). He inah (answer / respond) me.

2 Natzal (deliver) my napash (soul), Yahawah (), from shaqar (lying) shapah (lips), from a deceitful lashawan (tongue / language).

3 What will be nathan (give) to you, and what will be yasap (done) more to you, you deceitful lashawan (tongue / language)?

4 Shanan (sharp) chatzay (arrows) of the gabawar (mighty), with gachalay (coals) of ratham (juniper).

5 Awayah (woe) is me, that I live in Mashak (Meshech), that I shakan (place) among the ahalay (tents) of Qadar (Kedar)!

6 My napash (soul) shakan (place) had her dwelling rab (too) long with him who shanaa (hate) shalawam (peace / safety).

7 I am for shalawam (peace / safety), but when I dabar (word / matter), they are for malachamah (war).
