Exodus 13 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) to Mashah (Moses), amar (spoke),

“Qadash (set apart / make holy) to me all of the bakawar (firstborn), whatever patar (opens) the racham (show mercy / love) among the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel), both of adam (man) and of animal. It is mine.”

Mashah (Moses) amar (spoke) to the im (nation / people), “zakar (remember) zah (this / that / these) yawam (day), in which you yatzaa (go out / come out) out from Matzarayam (Egypt), out of the bayath (house) of ibad (servant); for by chazaq (strength) of yad (hand) Yahawah () yatzaa (go out / come out) you out from this place. No chamatz (leavened) bread shall be akal (eat).

This yawam (day) you yatzaa (go out / come out) out in the chadash (month) abayab (abib).

It shall be, when Yahawah () shall bawaa (come) you into the aratz (Earth/land) of the Kanainay (Canaanite), and the Chathay (Hittite), and the Amaray (Amorite), and the Chaway (Hivite), and the Yabawasay (Jebusite), which he shabai (swear / take oath) to your ab (father) to nathan (give) you, a aratz (Earth/land) zawab (flow) with chalab (milk) and dabash (honey), that you shall ibad (servant) this ibadah (service) in this chadash (month).

Shabai (seven) yamayam (days) you shall akal (eat) unleavened matzah (bread), and in the shabayaiy (seventh) yawam (day) shall be a chag (feast/festival) to Yahawah ().

Unleavened matzah (bread) shall be akal (eat) throughout the shabai (seven) yamayam (days); and no chamatz (leavened) bread shall be raah (see / saw) with you, neither shall yeast be raah (see / saw) with you, in all your gabawal (border/boundary).

You shall nagad (tell) your ban (son) in that yawam (day), amar (spoke), ‘It is ibawar (because) of that which Yahawah () ishah (make) for me when I yatzaa (go out / come out) out of Matzarayam (Egypt).’

It shall be for a awath (sign / mark / miracle) to you on your yad (hand), and for a zakarawan (memorial) between your iyan (eye), that the thawarah (instruction) of Yahawah () may be in your pah (mouth); for with a chazaq (strong) yad (hand) Yahawah () yatzaa (go out / come out) brought you out of Matzarayam (Egypt).

You shall therefore shamar (keep/guard) this chaqah (ordinance) in its mawaid (Feast/Holy Day) from yawam (day) to yawam (day).

“It shall be, when Yahawah () shall bawaa (come) you into the aratz (Earth/land) of the Kanainay (Canaanite), as he shabai (swear / take oath) to you and to your ab (father), and shall nathan (give) it you,

That you shall ibar (pass over/through) apart to Yahawah () all that patar (opens) the racham (womb), and every firstborn which you have that comes from an animal. The zakarayam (males) shall be Yahawah ().

Every firstborn of a donkey you shall padah (redeem) with a shah (lamb); and if you will not padah (redeem) it, then you shall irap (break) its neck; and you shall padah (redeem) all the bakawar (firstborn) of adam (man) among your ban (son).

It shall be, when your ban (son) shaal (asks) you in machar (time) to come, amar (spoke), ‘What is this?’ That you shall amar (spoke) him, ‘By chazaq (strength) of yad (hand) Yahawah () yatzaa (go out / come out) us out from Matzarayam (Egypt), from the bayath (house) of ibad (servant);

And it happened, when Paraih (Pharaoh) qashah (rough / hard) hardly shalach (send) us go, that Yahawah () harag (kill) all the bakawar (firstborn) in the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt), both the bakawar (firstborn) of adam (man), and the bakawar (firstborn) of animal. Therefore I zabach (sacrifice) to Yahawah () all that patar (opens) the racham (womb), being zakarayam (males); but all the bakawar (firstborn) of my ban (son) I padah (redeem).’

It shall be for a awath (sign / mark / miracle) on your yad (hand), and for symbols between your iyan (eye): for by chazaq (strength) of yad (hand) Yahawah () yatzaa (go out / come out) us out of Matzarayam (Egypt).”

It happened, when Paraih (Pharaoh) had let the im (nation / people) shalach (send), that Alahayam () didn't nachah (lead) them by the darak (way) of the aratz (Earth/land) of the Palashathay (Philistines), kay (surely) that was qarawab (near); for Alahayam () amar (spoke), “Lest perhaps the im (nation / people) change their minds when they raah (see) malachamah (war), and they shawab (turn back / repent) to Matzarayam (Egypt)”;

But Alahayam () sabab (led) the im (nation / people) around by the darak (way) of the madabar (wilderness) by the sawap (red) yam (sea/waters); and the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel) ilah (go up / offer) up chamash (armed) out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt).

Mashah (Moses) laqach (take / seize) the itzamawath (bones) of Yawasap (Joseph) with him, for he had shabai (swear / take oath) the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel) shabai (swear / take oath), amar (spoke), “Alahayam () will paqad (visit) paqad (visit) you, and you shall ilah (go up / offer) up my itzamawath (bones) ilah (go up / offer) from here with you.”

They took their nasai (journey) from Sakawath (Succoth), and chanah (encamped) in Atham (you/yours), in the qatzah (end / extremity / border) of the madabar (wilderness).

Yahawah () halak (move) panayam (face) them by yawamam (by day) in a imawad (pillar) of inan (cloud), to nachah (lead) them on their darak (way), and by layal (night) in a imawad (pillar) of ash (fire), to give them awar (light), that they might yalak (go) by yawamam (by day) and by layal (night):

The imawad (pillar) of inan (cloud) by yawamam (by day), and the imawad (pillar) of ash (fire) by layal (night), didn't depart from panayam (face) the im (nation / people).
