Exodus 5 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Afterward Mashah (Moses) and Aharawan (Aaron) came, and amar (spoke) to Paraih (Pharaoh), “This is what Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), yaamaraw (says), ‘Let my im (nation / people) shalach (send), that they may hold a feast to me in the madabar (wilderness).’”

Paraih (Pharaoh) amar (spoke), “Who is Yahawah (), that I should shamai (hearken / hear) to his qawal (sound / voice) to let Yashar-Al (Israel) shalach (send)? I don't yadai (know) Yahawah (), and moreover I will not let Yashar-Al (Israel) shalach (send).”

They amar (spoke), “The Alahayam () of the ibarayam (hebrews) has qaraa (called) with us. Please yalak (let) us go shalawash (three) yamayam (days)’ darak (journey) into the madabar (wilderness), and zabach (sacrifice) to Yahawah (), our Alahayam (), lest he pagai (fall) on us with dabar (word / matter), or with the charab (sword).”

The malak (king) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt) amar (said) to them, “Why do you, Mashah (Moses) and Aharawan (Aaron), take the im (nation / people) from their maishah (work)? Yalak (get) back to your sabalah (burdens)!”

Paraih (Pharaoh) amar (said), “Behold, the im (nation / people) of the aratz (Earth/land) are now many, and you make them shabath (shabath / rest) from their sabalah (burdens).”

The same yawam (day) Paraih (Pharaoh) tzawah (commanded) the nagashayam (taskmasters) of the im (nation / people), and their shatar (officers), amar (said),

“You shall no longer nathan (give) the im (nation / people) thaban (straw) to laban (make) labanah (brick), as shalashawam (before). Yalak (let) them go and qashash (gather) thaban (straw) for themselves.

The number of the labanayam (bricks), which they ishah (make) shalashawam (before), you require from them. You shall not garai (diminish) anything of it, for they are rapah (idle); therefore they tzaiq (cry), amar (spoke), ‘yalak (let) us go and zabach (sacrifice) to our Alahayam ().’

Let heavier ibadah (work) be kabad (laid) on the anashayam (men), that they may ishah (make) therein; and don't let them pay any attention to shaqar (lying) dabaray (words).”

The nagashay (taskmasters) of the im (nation / people) yatzaa (go out / come out) out, and their shatar (officers), and they amar (said) to the im (nation / people), amar (said), “This is what Paraih (Pharaoh) yaamaraw (says): ‘I will not nathan (give) you thaban (straw).

Yalak (go) yourselves, laqach (take / seize) thaban (straw) ashar (who/that) you can matzaa (find) it, for nothing of your ibadah (work) shall be garai (diminished).’”

So the im (nation / people) were pawatz (scattered) abroad throughout all the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt) to qashash (gather) qash (stubble) for thaban (straw).

The nagashayam (taskmasters) were urgent amar (said), “Fulfill your maishah (work) quota yawam (day), as when there was thaban (straw)!”

The shataray (officers) of the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel), whom Paraih (Pharaoh's) nagashay (taskmasters) had shawam (place / establish / appoint) over them, were nakah (beaten), and amar (said), “Why haven't you kalah (complete / finish) your quota both thamawal (yesterday) and today, in laban (making) brick as shalashawam (before)?”

Then the shataray (officers) of the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) bawaa (bring) and tzaiq (cried) to Paraih (Pharaoh), amar (said), “Why ishah (make) you deal this way with your ibad (servant)?

No thaban (straw) is nathan (give) to your ibad (servant), and they amar (said) us, ‘ishah (make) labanah (brick)!’ And behold, your ibad (servant) are nakah (beaten); but the chataa (fault) is in your own im (nation / people).”

But he amar (spoke), “You are rapah (idle)! You are rapah (idle)! Therefore you amar (spoke), ‘yalak (let) us go and zabach (sacrifice) to Yahawah ().’

Yalak (go) therefore now, and ibad (servant), for no thaban (straw) shall be nathan (give) to you, yet you shall nathan (give) the same number of labanayam (bricks)!”

The shataray (officers) of the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) raah (see / saw) that they were in rai (trouble), when it was amar (said), “You shall not garai (diminish) anything from your yawam (day) quota of labanah (bricks)!”

They pagai (met) Mashah (Moses) and Aharawan (Aaron), who natzab (stood) in the qaraah (way), as they yatzaa (go out / come out) out from Paraih (Pharaoh):

And they amar (spoke) to them, “May Yahawah () raah (see) at you, and shapat (judge / judgement), because you have made us a stench to be baash (abhorred) in the iyanay (eyes) of Paraih (Pharaoh), and in the iyanay (eyes) of his ibad (servant), to nathan (give) a charab (sword) in their yad (hand) to harag (kill) us.”

Mashah (Moses) shawab (turn back / repent) to Yahawah (), and amar (spoke), “Adanay (), why have you raii (wicked / dysfunctional / evil) trouble on this im (nation / people)? Why is it that you have shalach (send) me?

For since I bawaa (bring) to Paraih (Pharaoh) to dabar (word / matter) in your sham (name), he has raii (wicked / dysfunctional / evil) trouble on this im (nation / people); neither have you natzal (delivered) your im (nation / people) at natzal (all).”
