Isaiah 31 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Haway (Alas/Woe!) To those who yarad (go) down to Matzarayam (Egypt) for izarah (help), and shain (rely) on sawasayam (horses), and batach (trust) in rakab (chariots) because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very itzam (strong), but they don't shaih (look) to the qadawash (holy) One of Yashar-Al (Israel), and they don't darash (seek) Yahawah ()!

Yet he also is chakam (wise), and will bawaa (bring) disaster, and will not sawar (call) back his dabar (word / matter), but will qawam (rise up) against the bayath (house) of the evildoers, and against the izarah (help) of those who pail (work) awan (iniquity).

Now the Matzarayam (Egyptians) are adam (men), and not Al; and their sawas (horses) bashar (flesh), and not rawach (spirit / wind). When Yahawah () stretches out his yad (hand), both he who izar (helps) shall kashal (stumble / stagger), and he who is izar (helped) shall napal (fall / be cast down), and they all shall be kalah (complete / finish) yachad (together).

For thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () to me, “As the aray (lion) and the young kapayar (lion) growling over his tarap (prey), if a malaa (multitude) of raiyam (shepherds) is qaraa (called) together against him, will not be chathath (dismayed) at their qawal (sound / voice), nor inah (oppress / afflict) himself for their hamawan (noise), so Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies) will yarad (come) down to tzabaa (troop) on har (mountain) Tzayawan (Zion) and on its heights.

As tzaparayam (birds) hovering, so Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies) will protect Yarawashalam (Jerusalem). He will protect and natzal (deliver) it. He will pasach (pass) over and malat (preserve) it.”

Shawab (turn) to him from whom you imaq (have) deeply sarah (revolted), banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel).

For in that yawam (day) everyone shall maas (cast) away his alayalay (idols) of kasap (silver) and his alayalay (idols) of zahab (gold) — chataa (sin) which your own yad (hand) ishah (make) made for you.

“The Ashawar (Assyrian) will napal (fall / be cast down) by the charab (sword), not of ayash (man / husband); and the charab (sword), not of mankind, shall akal (eat) him. He will nawas (flee) from the charab (sword), and his bachawar (young) men will become subject to forced mas (labor).

His salai (rock) will ibar (pass over/through) away by reason of magawar (terror), and his shar (prince / ruler) will be afraid of the nas (banner),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), whose awar (light) is in Tzayawan (Zion), and his thanawar (furnace) in Yarawashalam (Jerusalem).
