Isaiah 66 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), “shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens) is my kasaa (throne), and the aratz (Earth/land) is my footstool: what kind of bayath (house) will you banah (build) to me? And what maqawam (place) shall be my manawachah (rest)?

For all these things has my yad (hand) ishah (make), and so all these things came to be,” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (): “but to this man will I nabat (look), even to him who is inay (poor) and of a nakah (contrite) rawach (spirit / wind), and who trembles at my dabar (word / matter).

He who shachat (kills) an shawar (ox) is as he who nakah (kills) a ayash (man / husband); he who zabach (sacrifices) a shah (lamb), as he who irap (breaks) a kalab (dog's) irap (neck); he who ilah (go up / offer) an manachah (offering), as he who offers pig's dam (blood); he who zakar (remember) labawanah (frankincense), as he who blesses an awan (idol). Yes, they have bachar (chosen) their own darak (ways), and their napash (soul) chapatz (delights) in their shaqawatz (abominations):

I also will bachar (choose) their thailawal (delusions), and will bawaa (bring) their magawarah (fears) on them; because when I qaraa (called), no one dabar (word / matter); when I dabar (word / matter), they didn't shamai (hearken / hear); but they ishah (make) that which was rai (evil) in my iyan (eye), and bachar (chose) that in which I didn't chapatz (delight).”

Shamai (hearken / hear) the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah (), you who tremble at his dabar (word / matter): “Your ach (brother/kinsman) who shanaa (hate) you, who nadah (cast) you out for my sham (name) sake, have amar (spoke), ‘Let Yahawah () be kabad (glorified), that we may raah (see) your shamachah (joy);’ but it is those who shall be disappointed.

A qawal (sound / voice) of shaawan (tumult) from the iyar (city), a qawal (sound / voice) from the hayakal (temple), a qawal (sound / voice) of Yahawah () that shalam (renders) gamawal (recompense) to his ayab (enemy).

“Before she chawal (travailed), she yalad (birth / begot) forth; before her chabal (pain) bawaa (bring), she malat (delivered) a zakar (remember).

Who has shamai (hearken / hear) such a thing? Who raah (see / saw) seen such things? Shall a aratz (Earth/land) be born in achad (one) yawam (day)? Shall a gaway (heathen / nation) be chawal (brought) forth at paim (once)? For as soon as Tzayawan (Zion) chawal (travailed), she yalad (birth / begot) forth her ban (son).

Shall I shabar (bring) to the birth, and not cause to yalad (birth / begot) forth?” Amar (spoke) Yahawah (): “shall I who cause to yalad (birth / begot) forth itzar (shut) the womb?” Amar (spoke) your Alahayam ().

“Shamach (rejoice) with Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem), and be gayal (glad) for her, all you who ahab (love) her: shawash (rejoice) for mashawash (joy) with her, all you who abal (mourn) over her;

That you may yanaq (nurse) and be shabai (satisfied) at the thanachawam (comforting) shad (breasts); that you may drink deeply, and be inag (delighted) with the zayaz (abundance) of her kabawad (glory).”

For thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), “Behold, I will natah (extend) shalawam (peace / safety) to her like a nahar (river), and the kabawad (glory) of the gawayam (nations) like an shatap (overflowing) nachal (stream / river): and you will yanaq (nurse). You will be nashaa (lift) on her tzad (side), and will be shaii (dandled) on her barakayam (knees).

As ayash (man / husband) whom his am (mother) thanachamaw (comforts), so will I nacham (turn away / repent) you; and you will be nacham (turn away / repent) in Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem).”

You will raah (see) it, and your lab (heart) shall shawash (rejoice), and your itzam (bones) shall parach (flourish) like the tender dashaa (grass): and the yad (hand) of Yahawah () shall be yadai (known) toward his ibad (servant); and he will have zaim (indignation) against his ayab (enemy).

For, behold, Yahawah () will bawaa (come) with ash (fire), and his marakabah (chariots) shall be like the sawapah (whirlwind); to shawab (turn back / repent) his ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) with fierceness, and his gairah (rebuke) with lahabay (flames) of ash (fire).

For by ash (fire) will Yahawah () execute shapat (judge / judgement), and by his charab (sword), on all bashar (flesh); and the chalal (slain) of Yahawah () shall be many.

“Those who qadash (set apart / make holy) themselves and tahar (purify) themselves to go to the ganawath (gardens), achar (other) achad (one) in the thawak (midst), akal (eat) pig's bashar (flesh), and the shaqatz (abomination), and the ikabar (mouse), they shall come to an sawap (end) yachad (together),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().

“For I know their maishah (works) and their machashabah (thoughts): the time baaw (comes), that I will qabatz (gather) all gawayam (heathen) and lashanawath (languages); and they shall bawaa (bring), and shall raah (see / saw) my kabawad (glory).

“I will shawam (place / establish / appoint) a awath (sign / mark / miracle) among them, and I will shalach (send) such as palayat (escape) of them to the gawayam (heathen), to Tharashayash (Tarshish), Pawal (Pul), and Lawad (Lud), who mashak (draw) the qashath (bow), to Thawabal (Tubal) and Yawan (Javan), to the ayayam (islands) rachawaq (afar) off, who have not shamai (hearken / hear) my shamai (fame), neither raah (see / saw) seen my kabawad (glory); and they shall nagad (declare) my kabawad (glory) among the gawayam (heathen).

They shall bawaa (come) all your ach (brother/kinsman) out of all the gawayam (nations) for an manachah (offering) to Yahawah (), on sawasayam (horses), and in rakab (chariots), and in tzabayam (litters), and on paradayam (mules), and on dromedaries, to my qadash (set apart / make holy) har (mountain) Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), amar (spoke) Yahawah (), as the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel) bawaa (come) their manachah (offering) in a tahawar (clean) kalay (vessel) into the bayath (house) of Yahawah ().

Of them also will I laqach (take / seize) for kahanayam (priests) and for,” Lawayay (Levites), amar (spoke) Yahawah ().

“For as the chadash (new) shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens) and the chadash (new) aratz (Earth/land), which I will ishah (make), shall imad (remain) panayam (face) me,” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “so your zarai (seed) and your sham (name) shall imad (remain).

It shall happen, that from one new chadash (month) to another, and from one shabath (shabath / rest) to another, shall all bashar (flesh) bawaa (come) to shachah (worship) panayam (face) me,” amar (spoke) Yahawah ().

“They shall yatzaa (go out / come out) forth, and raah (see / saw) on the pagar (dead) bodies of the anashayam (men) who have pashai (transgressed) against me: for their thawalai (worm) shall not mawath (death), neither shall their ash (fire) be kabah (quenched); and they will be loathsome to all bashar (flesh).”
