Jeremiah 15 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Then Yahawah () amar (spoke) to me, “Though Mashah (Moses) and Shamawaal (Samuel) imad (stood) panayam (face) me, yet my napash (soul) would not be toward this im (nation / people): shalach (send) them out of my panayam (face), and yatzaa (go out / come out) them go forth.

It shall happen, when they amar (spoke) you, ‘Where shall we yatzaa (go out / come out) forth?’ Then you shall amar (spoke) them, ‘Thus yaamaraw (says) Yahawah (): “Such as are for mawath (death), to mawath (death); and such as are for the charab (sword), to the charab (sword); and such as are for the raib (famine), to the raib (famine); and such as are for shabay (captivity), to shabay (captivity).”’

“I will paqad (visit) over them arabai (four) mashapachawath (kinds),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (): “the charab (sword) to harag (kill), and the kalabayam (dogs) to sachab (tear), and the iwap (flying) of the sky, and the animals of the aratz (Earth/land), to akal (eat) and to shachath (destroy).

I will nathan (give) them to be tossed back and forth among all the mamalakawath (kingdoms) of the aratz (Earth/land), galal (because) of Manashah (Manasseh), the ban (son) of Chazaqayah (Hezekiah), malak (king) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), for that which he ishah (make) in Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem).

For who will chamal (have) pity on you, Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem)? Or who will nawad (bemoan) you? Or who will sawar (turn) aside to shaal (ask) of your shalawam (peace / safety)?

You have rejected me,” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “you have yalak (gone) backward: therefore have I natah (stretched) out my yad (hand) against you, and shachath (destroyed) you; I am laah (weary) with nacham (turn away / repent).

I have zarah (winnowed) them with a zarah (fan) in the shairay (gates) of the aratz (Earth/land); I have shakal (bereaved) them of children, I abad (destroy / perish) destroyed my im (nation / people); they didn't shawab (turn) from their darak (ways).

Their alamanah (widows) are itzam (increased) to me above the chawal (sand) of the yamayam (seas); I bawaa (bring) brought on them against the am (mother) of the bachawar (young) men a shadad (destroyer) at noonday: I have caused anguish and bahalawath (terrors) to napal (fall / be cast down) on her pathaawam (suddenly).

She who has yalad (birth / begot) shabai (seven) languishes; she has napach (given) up the napash (soul); her shamash (sun) is bawaa (come) down while it was yet yawamam (by day); she has been disappointed and chapar (confounded): and their shaarayath (residue) will I nathan (give) to the charab (sword) panayam (face) their ayab (enemy),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().

Away (woe) is me, my am (mother), that you have yalad (birth / begot) me a ayash (man / husband) of rayab (strife) and a ayash (man / husband) of madawan (contention) to the whole aratz (Earth/land)! I have not nashah (lent), neither have men lent to me; yet everyone of them qalal (curses) me.

Yahawah () amar (spoke), “Most certainly I will strengthen you for tawab (good / proper function); most certainly I will cause the ayab (enemy) to pagai (make) supplication to you in the ith (time) of rai (evil) and in the ith (time) of tzarah (affliction).

Can one raii (wicked / dysfunctional / evil) barazal (iron), even barazal (iron) from the tzapawan (north), and nachashath (brass)?

Your chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor) and your awatzar (treasures) will I nathan (give) for a baz (spoil) without machayar (price), and that for all your chataah (sin), even in all your gabawal (border/boundary).

I will ibar (pass over/through) them to pass with your ayab (enemy) into a aratz (Earth/land) which you don't yadai (know); for a ash (fire) is qadach (kindled) in my ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting), which shall yaqad (burn) on you.”

Yahawah (), you yadai (know); zakar (remember) me, and paqad (visit) me, and naqam (avenge) me of my persecutors; don't laqach (take / seize) me away in your ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting): yadai (know) that for your sake I have nashaa (lift) charapah (reproach).

Your dabar (word / matter) were matzaa (found), and I akal (eat) them; and your dabar (word / matter) were to me a shashawan (joy) and the shamachah (rejoicing) of my labab (heart): for I am qaraa (called) by your sham (name), Yahawah (), Alahayam () of tzabaawath (armies).

I didn't yashab (inhabit/dwell) in the sawad (assembly) of those who shachaq (make) merry, nor ilaz (rejoiced); I yashab (inhabit/dwell) badad (alone) panayam (face) of your yad (hand); for you malaa (have) filled me with zaim (indignation).

Why is my kaab (pain) natzach (perpetual), and my makah (wound) anash (incurable), which maan (refuses) to be rapaa (healed)? Will you indeed be to me as a deceitful brook, as mayam (Waters) that aman (believe / have faith)?

Therefore thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), “If you shawab (turn back / repent), then will I shawab (turn back / repent) you again, that you may imad (stand) panayam (face) me; and if you yatzaa (go out / come out) forth the yaqar (precious) from the zalal (vile), you shall be as my pah (mouth): they shall shawab (turn back / repent) to you, but you shall not shawab (turn back / repent) to them.

I will nathan (give) you to this im (nation / people) a batzar (fortified) bronze chawamah (wall); and they shall lacham (fight) against you, but they shall not yakal (prevail) against you; for I am with you to yashai (salvation) you and to natzal (deliver) you,” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().

“I will natzal (deliver) you out of the yad (hand) of the rai (wicked), and I will padah (redeem) you out of the kap (hand) of the irayatz (terrible).”
