Jeremiah 26 — English–Hebrew Parallel

In the raashayath (beginning) of the mamalakawath (reign) of Yahawayaqayam (Jehoiakim) the ban (son) of Yaashayah (Josiah), malak (king) of Yahawadah (Judah), came this dabar (word / matter) from Yahawah (), amar (spoke),

“Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): ‘imad (stand) in the chatzar (court) of Yahawah () bayath (house), and dabar (word / matter) to all the iray (cities) of Yahawadah (Judah), which bawaa (come) to shachah (worship) in Yahawah () bayath (house), all the dabarayam (words) that I tzawah (command) you to dabar (word / matter) to them; don't garai (diminish) a dabar (word / matter).

It may be they will shamai (hearken / hear), and shawab (turn) every ayash (man / husband) from his rai (evil) darak (way); that I may nacham (turn away / repent) me of the rai (evil) which I chashab (purpose) to ishah (make) to them panayam (face) of the rai (evil) of their mailal (doings).’

You shall amar (spoke) them, “Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): ‘If you will not shamai (hearken / hear) to me, to yalak (walk) in my thawarah (instruction), which I nathan (give) set panayam (face) you,

To shamai (hearken / hear) to the dabaray (words) of my ibad (servant) the nabaayam (prophets), whom I shalach (send) to you, even shakam (rising) up early and shalach (send) them, but you have not shamai (hearken / hear);

Then will I nathan (give) this bayath (house) like Shayalah (Shiloh), and will nathan (give) this iyar (city) a qalalah (curse) to all the gawayay (nations) of the aratz (Earth/land).”’”

The kahanayam (priests) and the nabaayam (prophets) and all the im (nation / people) shamai (hearken / hear) Yaramayah (Jeremiah) dabar (word / matter) these dabarayam (words) in the bayath (house) of Yahawah ().

It happened, when Yaramayah (Jeremiah) kalah (complete / finish) made an end of dabar (word / matter) all that Yahawah () had tzawah (commanded) him to dabar (word / matter) to all the im (nation / people), that the kahanayam (priests) and the nabaayam (prophets) and all the im (nation / people) thapash (laid) hold on him, amar (spoke), “You shall mawath (death) mawath (death).

Why have you nabaa (prophesied) in the sham (name) of Yahawah (), amar (spoke), ‘This bayath (house) shall be like Shayalah (Shiloh), and this iyar (city) shall be charab (desolate), without yashab (inhabit/dwell)?’” All the im (nation / people) were qahal (gathered) to Yaramayah (Jeremiah) in the bayath (house) of Yahawah ().

When the sharay (princes) of Yahawadah (Judah) shamai (hearken / hear) these things, they ilah (go up / offer) up from the malak (king) bayath (house) to the bayath (house) of Yahawah (); and they yashab (inhabit/dwell) in the entry of the chadash (new) shair (gate) of Yahawah () house.

Then amar (said) the kahanayam (priests) and the nabaayam (prophets) to the sharayam (princes) and to all the im (nation / people), amar (said), “This ayash (man / husband) is mashapat (worthy) of mawath (death); for he has nabaa (prophesied) against this iyar (city), as you have shamai (hearken / hear) with your azan (ear).”

Then amar (spoke) Yaramayah (Jeremiah) to all the sharayam (princes) and to all the im (nation / people), amar (spoke), “Yahawah () shalach (send) me to nabaa (prophesy) against this bayath (house) and against this iyar (city) all the dabarayam (words) that you have shamai (hearken / hear).

Now therefore yatab (amend) your darak (ways) and your mailal (doings), and shamai (hearken / hear) the qawal (sound / voice) of Yahawah () your Alahayam (); and Yahawah () will nacham (turn away / repent) him of the rai (evil) that he has dabar (word / matter) against you.

But as for me, behold, I am in your yad (hand): ishah (make) with me as is tawab (good / proper function) and yashar (upright) in your eyes.

Only yadai (know) for certain that, if you put me to mawath (death), you will nathan (give) naqay (innocent) dam (blood) on yourselves, and on this iyar (city), and on its yashab (inhabit/dwell); for of a amath (truth) Yahawah () has shalach (send) me to you to dabar (word / matter) all these dabarayam (words) in your azan (ear).”

Then the sharayam (princes) and all the im (nation / people) amar (spoke) to the kahanayam (priests) and to the nabayaayam (prophets): “This ayash (man / husband) is not mashapat (worthy) of mawath (death); for he has dabar (word / matter) to us in the sham (name) of Yahawah () our Alahayam ().”

Then qawam (rise up) up ayash (man / husband) of the zaqanay (elders) of the aratz (Earth/land), and amar (said) to all the qahal (assembly) of the im (nation / people), amar (said),

“Mayakayah (Micah) the Morashtite nabaa (prophesied) in the yamay (days) of Chazaqayah (Hezekiah) malak (king) of Yahawadah (Judah); and he amar (spoke) to all the im (nation / people) of Yahawadah (Judah), amar (spoke), ‘Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies): “‘Tzayawan (Zion) shall be charash (plowed) as a shadah (field), and Yarawashalam (Jerusalem) shall become iyayam (heaps), and the har (mountain) of the bayath (house) as the bamah (high) places of a yair (forest).’

Did Chazaqayah (Hezekiah) malak (king) of Yahawadah (Judah) and mawath (death) Yahawadah (Judah) put him to mawath (death)? Didn't he yaraa (fear) Yahawah (), and entreat the favor of Yahawah (), and Yahawah () relented of the disaster which he had dabar (word / matter) against them? Thus should we ishah (make) gadawal (very great/important/mighty) rai (evil) against our own napash (soul).”

There was also a ayash (man / husband) who nabaa (prophesied) in the sham (name) of Yahawah (), Awarayah (Uriah) the ban (son) of Shamaiyah (Shemaiah) of Kiriath Qarayath-Yairayam (Jearim); and he nabaa (prophesied) against this iyar (city) and against this aratz (Earth/land) according to all the dabaray (words) of Yaramayah (Jeremiah):

And when Yahawayaqayam (Jehoiakim) the malak (king), with all his gabawar (mighty) men, and all the sharayam (princes), shamai (hearken / hear) his dabar (word / matter), the malak (king) baqash (sought) to put him to mawath (death); but when Awarayah (Uriah the Hittite) shamai (hearken / hear) it, he was yaraa (fear / be afraid), and barach (fled), and bawaa (bring) into Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt):

And Yahawayaqayam (Jehoiakim) the malak (king) shalach (send) anashayam (men) into Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt), Alanathan (Elnathan) the ban (son) of Ikabawar (Achbor), and ayash (man / husband) men with him, into Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt);

And they yatzaa (go out / come out) forth Awarayah (Uriah the Hittite) out of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt), and bawaa (bring) him to Yahawayaqayam (Jehoiakim) the malak (king), who nakah (killed) him with the charab (sword), and shalak (cast) his nabalah (dead) body into the qabaray (graves) of the ban (son) im (nation / people).

But the yad (hand) of Achayaqam (Ahikam) the ban (son) of Shapan (Shaphan) was with Yaramayah (Jeremiah), that they should not nathan (give) him into the yad (hand) of the im (nation / people) to put him to mawath (death).
