Of Mawaab (Moab). Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel): “haway (Alas/Woe!) To Nabaw (Nebo)! For it is laid shadad (waste); Qarayathayam (Kiriathaim) is disappointed, it is lakad (taken); mashagab (misgab) is put to yabash (dry land) and broken down.
The thahalah (praise) of Mawaab (Moab) is no more; in Chashabawan (Heshbon) they have chashab (devised) rai (evil) against her: ‘yalak (come), and let us karath (cut) her off from being a gaway (heathen / nation).’ You also, Madaman (Madmen), shall be brought to silence: the charab (sword) shall yalak (pursue) you.
The qawal (sound / voice) of a qawal (sound / voice) from Charanayam (Horonaim), shad (desolation) and gadawal (very great/important/mighty) shad (destruction)!
Mawaab (Moab) is shabar (destroyed); her tzaiyar (little) ones have caused a zaiq (cry) to be shamai (hearken / hear).
For by the mailah (ascent) of Lawachayath (Luhith) with continual bakay (weeping) shall they ilah (go up / offer) up; for at the descent of Charanayam (Horonaim) they have shamai (hearken / hear) the distress of the tzaiqah (cry) of shabar (destruction).
Nawas (flee), malat (save) your lives, and be like the heath in the madabar (wilderness).
For, because you have batach (trusted) in your maishah (works) and in your awatzar (treasures), you also shall be lakad (taken): and Kamawash (Chemosh) shall yatzaa (go out / come out) forth into gawalah (captivity), his kahan (priest) and his shar (prince / ruler) yachad (together).
The shadad (destroyer) shall bawaa (come) on every iyar (city), and no iyar (city) shall malat (escape); the imaq (valley) also shall abad (destroy / perish), and the mayashawar (plain) shall be destroyed; as Yahawah () has amar (spoke).
Nathan (give) tzayatz (wings) to Mawaab (Moab), that she may fly and yatzaa (go out / come out) her away: and her iyar (cities) shall become a shamah (desolation), without any to yashab (inhabit/dwell) therein.
“Arar (cursed) is he who ishah (make) the malaakah (work) of Yahawah () negligently; and arar (cursed) is he who manai (keeps) back his charab (sword) from dam (blood).
“Mawaab (Moab) has been at shaan (ease) from his naiwar (youth), and he shaqat (has) settled on his shamar (keep/guard), and has not been rawaq (emptied) from kalay (vessel) to kalay (vessel), neither has he halak (move) into gawalah (captivity): therefore his taim (taste) imad (remains) in him, and his rayach (smell) is not mawar (changed).
Therefore, behold, the yamayam (days) bawaa (come),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “that I will shalach (send) to him those who pour off, and they shall pour him off; and they shall rawaq (empty) his kalay (vessels), and napatz (break) their nabal (bottles) in pieces.
Mawaab (Moab) shall be bawash (ashamed) of Kamawash (Chemosh), as the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel) was bawash (ashamed) of Bayath-Al (Bethel) their mabatach (confidence).
“How do you amar (said), ‘We are gabawar (mighty) chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor), and valiant gabawarayam (men) for the malachamah (war)?’
Mawaab (Moab) is laid shadad (waste), and they are ilah (go up / offer) up into his iyar (cities), and his mabachar (chosen) bachawar (young) men are yarad (gone) down to the tabach (slaughter),” naam (declares prophetically) the malak (king), whose sham (name) is Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies).
“The ayad (calamity) of Mawaab (Moab) is qarawab (near) to bawaa (bring), and his rai (affliction) hurries maad (fast).
All you who are around him, nawad (bemoan) him, and all you who yadai (know) his sham (name); amar (said), ‘How is the iz (strength / might / refuge) matah (staff / rod / tribe) shabar (broken), the thapaarah (beautiful) maqal (rod)!’
“You banath (daughter) who yashabay (dwells) in Dayabawan (Dibon), yarad (come) down from your kabawad (glory), and yashab (inhabit/dwell) in tzamaa (thirst); for the shadad (destroyer) of Mawaab (Moab) has ilah (go up / offer) up against you, he has shachath (destroyed) your strongholds.
Yashab (inhabit/dwell) of Irawair (Aroer), imad (stand) by the darak (way), and tzapah (watchman / keep watch): shaal (ask) him who nawas (flees), and her who malat (escapes); amar (said), ‘What hayah (came to pass) been done?’
Mawaab (Moab) is disappointed; for it is broken down: wail and zaiq (cry); nagad (tell) it by the Aranawan (Arnon), that Mawaab (Moab) is laid shadad (waste).
Mashapat (judgment) bawaa (bring) come on the mayashawar (plain) aratz (Earth/land), on Chalawan (Holon), and on Yahatz (Jahzah), and on Mawapaith (Mephaath),
And on Dayabawan (Dibon), and on Nabaw (Nebo), and on Bayathadabalathayam (Beth Diblathaim),
And on Qarayathayam (Kiriathaim), and on Bayathagamawal (Beth Gamul), and on Bayathabailamaiwan (Beth Meon),
And on Qarayawath (Kerioth), and on Batzarah (Bozrah), and on all the iray (cities) of the aratz (Earth/land) of Mawaab (Moab), rachawaq (far) or qarawab (near).
The qaran (horn) of Mawaab (Moab) is gadai (cut) off, and his zarawai (arm) is shabar (broken),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().
“Shakar (make) him drunken; for he gadal (magnified) himself against Yahawah (): and Mawaab (Moab) shall sapaq (wallow) in his qaa (vomit), and he also shall be in shachawaq (laughter/joking matter).
For wasn't Yashar-Al (Israel) a shachawaq (laughter/joking matter) to you? Was he matzaa (found) among thieves? For as often as you dabar (word / matter) of him, you nawad (shake) your head.
You yashabay (inhabitants) of Mawaab (Moab), izab (leave) the irayam (cities), and yashab (inhabit/dwell) in the salai (rock); and be like the yawanah (dove) that qanan (makes) her nest over the pah (mouth) of the abyss.
“We have shamai (hearken / hear) of the gaawan (pride) of Mawaab (Moab). He is very gaah (proud); his gabah (loftiness), and his gaawan (pride), and his arrogance, and the rawam (will lift up) of his lab (heart).
I yadai (know) his ibarah (wrath),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “that it is nothing; his boastings ishah (make) worked nothing.
Therefore will I wail for Mawaab (Moab); yes, I will zaiq (cry) out for all Mawaab (Moab): for the anashay (men) of Qayaracharash (Kir Heres) shall they hagah (mourn).
With more than the bakay (weeping) of Yaizayar (Jazer) will I bakah (weep) for you, gapan (vine) of Shabam (Sibmah): your branches ibar (pass over/through) over the yam (sea/waters), they nagai (reached) even to the yam (sea/waters) of Yaizayar (Jazer): on your qayatz (summer) fruits and on your batzayar (vintage) the shadad (destroyer) is napal (fall / be cast down).
Gayal (gladness) and shamachah (joy) is asap (taken) away from the karamal (fruitful) field and from the aratz (Earth/land) of Mawaab (Moab); and I have caused yayan (wine) to shabath (shabath / rest) from the yaqab (wine) presses: none shall darak (tread) with hayadad (shouting); the hayadad (shouting) shall be no hayadad (shouting).
From the zaiq (cry) of Chashabawan (Heshbon) even to Alailaa (Elealeh), even to Yahatz (Jahaz) nathan (give) they uttered their qawal (sound / voice), from Tzair (Zoar) even to Charanayam (Horonaim), to Eglath Shelishiyah: for the may (waters) of Namarayam (Nimrim) also shall become mashamah (desolate).
Moreover I will shabath (shabath / rest) to cease in Mawaab (Moab),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “him who ilah (go up / offer) in the bamah (high) place, and him who qatar (burns) incense to his Alahayam ().
Therefore my lab (heart) hamah (great uproar) for Mawaab (Moab) like chalalayam (pipes), and my lab (heart) hamah (great uproar) like chalalayam (pipes) for the anashay (men) of Qayaracharash (Kir Heres): therefore the yatharah (abundance) that he ishah (make) gotten is abad (destroy / perish).
For every raash (head) is qarachah (bald), and every zaqan (beard) garai (clipped): on all the yadayam (hands) are cuttings, and on the waist sackcloth.
On all the housetops of Mawaab (Moab) and in its rachab (streets) there is masapad (lamentation) every where; for I have shabar (broken) Mawaab (Moab) like a kalay (vessel) in which none chapatz (delights), naam (declares prophetically),” Yahawah ().
“How it is broken down! How they wail! How Mawaab (Moab) has panah (turn) the irap (neck) with shame! So shall Mawaab (Moab) become a shachawaq (laughter/joking matter) and a machathah (terror) to all who are around him.”
For thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): “Behold, he shall daah (fly) as an nashar (eagle), and shall parash (spread) out his kanap (wings) against Mawaab (Moab).
Qarayawath (Kerioth) is lakad (taken), and the strongholds are seized, and the lab (heart) of the gabawar (mighty) men of Mawaab (Moab) at that yawam (day) shall be as the lab (heart) of a ayashah (woman / wife) in her tzarar (pangs).
Mawaab (Moab) shall be destroyed from being a im (nation / people), because he has gadal (magnified) himself against Yahawah ().
Pachad (fear / dread), and the pachath (pit), and the pach (snare / trap), are on you, yashab (inhabit/dwell) of Mawaab (Moab),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().
“He who flees from the pachad (fear / dread) shall napal (fall / be cast down) into the pachath (pit); and he who ilah (go up / offer) up out of the pachath (pit) shall be lakad (taken) in the pach (snare / trap): for I will bawaa (come) on him, even on Mawaab (Moab), the shanah (year) of their paqadah (visitation),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().
“Those who nawas (fled) imad (stand) without kach (strength / mighty / power) under the tzal (shadow) of Chashabawan (Heshbon); for a ash (fire) is yatzaa (go out / come out) forth out of Chashabawan (Heshbon), and a lahabah (flame) from the midst of Sayachawan (Sihon), and has akal (eat) the paah (corner) of Mawaab (Moab), and the qadaqad (crown) of the head of the tumultuous banay (my son).
Away (woe) to you, O Mawaab (Moab)! The im (nation / people) of Kamawash (Chemosh) is abad (destroy / perish); for your ban (son) are laqach (take / seize) shabay (away) captive, and your banath (daughter) into shabayah (captivity).
“Yet will I shawab (turn back / repent) back the shabawath (captivity) of Mawaab (Moab) in the acharayath (latter) yamayam (days),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (). Hanah (here) far is the mashapat (judgment) of Mawaab (Moab).
