Ezekiel 14 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Then bawaa (bring) ayash (man / husband) of the zaqanay (elders) of Yashar-Al (Israel) to me, and yashab (inhabit/dwell) panayam (face) me.

The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to me, amar (spoke),

“Ban (son) of adam (man), these ban (son) have ilah (go up / offer) their galawal (idols) into their lab (heart), and nathan (give) the makashawal (stumbling) block of their iwan (guilt/iniquity) nakach (before) their panayam (face): should I be darash (inquired) of at darash (all) by them?

Therefore dabar (word / matter) to them, and amar (spoke) them, ‘Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “Every ayash (man / husband) of the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel) who ilah (go up / offer) his galawal (idols) into his lab (heart), and shawam (place / establish / appoint) the makashawal (stumbling) block of his iwan (guilt/iniquity) nakach (before) his panayam (face), and bawaa (come) to the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy); I Yahawah () will inah (answer / respond) him therein according to the rab (multitude) of his galawal (idols);

That I may thapash (take) the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel) in their own lab (heart), because they are all zawar (estranged) from me through their galawal (idols).”’

“Therefore amar (spoke) the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel), ‘Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “shawab (turn back / repent), and shawab (turn back / repent) yourselves from your galawal (idols); and shawab (turn back / repent) away your panayam (face) from all your thawaibah (abominations).

“‘“For everyone of the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel), or of the gar (sojourner / stranger / foreigner) who live in Yashar-Al (Israel), who nazar (crown / consecrate) himself from me, and ilah (go up / offer) his galawal (idols) into his lab (heart), and shawam (place / establish / appoint) the makashawal (stumbling) block of his iwan (guilt/iniquity) nakach (before) his panayam (face), and bawaa (come) to the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) to darash (inquire) for himself of me; I Yahawah () will inah (answer / respond) him by myself:

And I will nathan (give) my panayam (face) against that ayash (man / husband), and will shamam (make) him an astonishment, for a awath (sign / mark / miracle) and a mashal (proverb), and I will karath (cut) him off from the thawak (midst) of my im (nation / people); and you shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah ().

“‘“If the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) is pathah (deceived) and dabar (word / matter) a dabar (word / matter), I, Yahawah (), have pathah (deceived) that nabayaa (prophet/prophecy), and I will natah (stretch) out my yad (hand) on him, and will shamad (destroy) him from the thawak (midst) of my im (nation / people) Yashar-Al (Israel).

They shall nashaa (lift) their iwan (guilt/iniquity): the iwan (guilt/iniquity) of the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) shall be even as the iwan (guilt/iniquity) of him who darash (seeks) him;

That the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel) may thaih (go) no more astray from me, neither tamaa (defile) themselves any more with all their pashai (transgressions); but that they may be my im (nation / people), and I may be their Alahayam (),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().’”

The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to me, amar (spoke),

“Ban (son) of adam (man), when a aratz (Earth/land) chataa (sins) against me by committing a mail (top/above), and I natah (stretch) out my yad (hand) on it, and shabar (break) the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of its lacham (bread), and shalach (send) raib (famine) on it, and karath (cut) off from it adam (man) and animal;

Though these shalawash (three) anashayam (men), Nach (Noah), Danayaal (Daniel), and Ayawab (Job), were in it, they should natzal (deliver) but their own napash (soul) by their tzadaqah (righteousness),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().

“If I cause rai (evil) animals to ibar (pass over/through) through the aratz (Earth/land), and they ravage it, and it be made shamamah (desolate), so that no ibar (pass over/through) may pass through panayam (face) of the animals;

Though these shalawash (three) anashayam (men) were in it, as I chay (life),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah (), “they should natzal (deliver) neither banayam (sons) nor banawath (daughters); they only should be natzal (delivered), but the aratz (Earth/land) should be shamamah (desolate).

“Or if I bawaa (bring) a charab (sword) on that aratz (Earth/land), and amar (said), ‘charab (sword), ibar (pass over/through) through the aratz (Earth/land); so that I karath (cut) off from it adam (man) and animal;’

Though these shalawash (three) anashayam (men) were in it, as I chay (life),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah (), “they should natzal (deliver) neither banayam (sons) nor banawath (daughters), but they only should be natzal (delivered) themselves.

“Or if I shalach (send) a dabar (word / matter) into that aratz (Earth/land), and shapak (pour) out my chamah (wrath) on it in dam (blood), to karath (cut) off from it adam (man) and animal;

Though Nach (Noah), Danayaal (Daniel), and Ayawab (Job), were in it, as I chay (life),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah (), “they should natzal (deliver) neither ban (son) am (mother) banath (daughter); they should but natzal (deliver) their own napash (soul) by their tzadaqah (righteousness).”

For thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “How much more when I shalach (send) my arabai (four) severe shapat (judge / judgement) on Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), the charab (sword), and the raib (famine), and the rai (evil) animals, and the dabar (word / matter), to karath (cut) off from it adam (man) and animal!

Yet, behold, therein shall be yathar (left) a palayatah (remnant) that shall be yatzaa (go out / come out) forth, both banayam (sons) and banawath (daughters): behold, they shall yatzaa (go out / come out) forth to you, and you shall raah (see / saw) their darak (way) and their ilayalah (doings); and you shall be nacham (turn away / repent) concerning the rai (evil) that I bawaa (bring) brought on Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem), even concerning all that I bawaa (bring) brought on it.

They shall nacham (turn away / repent) you, when you raah (see) their darak (way) and their ilayalah (doings); and you shall yadai (know) that I ishah (make) not done chanam (without) cause all that I ishah (make) done in it, naam (declares prophetically),” the Adanay () Yahawah ().
