1 Aparayam (Ephraim) surrounds me with falsehood, and the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel) with maramah (deceit). Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) still strays from Al, and is unfaithful to the qadawash (holy) One.
2 Aparayam (Ephraim) feeds on wind, and chases the east wind. He continually multiplies kachash (lies) and desolation. They sabab (make) a covenant with Ashawar (Assyria), and oil is sabab (carried) into Matzarayam (Egypt).
3 Yahawah () also has a controversy with Yahawadah (Judah), and will punish Yaiqab (Jacob) according to his ways; according to his deeds he will repay him.
4 In the womb he took his brother by the heel; and in his manhood he contended with Alahayam ().
5 Indeed, he struggled with the alahayam (God), and prevailed; he wept, and made supplication to him. He found him at Al (Bethel), and there he spoke with us,
6 Even Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Armies; Yahawah () is his dabar (word / matter) of renown!
7 Therefore turn to your Alahayam (). Keep kindness and justice, and wait continually for your Alahayam ().
8 A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He chasad (grace) to defraud.
9 Aparayam (Ephraim) said, “Surely I have become rich, I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won't find in me any iniquity that is sin.”
10 “But I am Yahawah () your Alahayam () from the land of Matzarayam (Egypt). I will yet again ishar (make) you dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feast.
11 I have also spoken to the ahalayam (prophets), and I have multiplied visions; and by the ministry of the ahalayam (prophets) I have used parables.
12 If Galaid (Gilead) is wicked, surely they are worthless. In Galagal (Gilgal) they sacrifice bulls. Indeed, their altars are like rabah (heaps) in the furrows of the field.
13 Yaiqab (Jacob) fled into the shadah (country) of Aram (), and Yashar-Al (Israel) served to get a wife, and for a wife he tended flocks and herds.
14 By a prophet Yahawah () ibad (servant) Yashar-Al (Israel) up out of Matzarayam (Egypt), and by a prophet he was shamar (keep/guard).
