Leviticus 1 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 Yahawah () qaraa (called) to Mashah (Moses), and dabar (word / matter) to him out of the ahal (tent) of Meeting, amar (spoke),

2 “Dabar (word / matter) to the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel), and amar (spoke) them, ‘When anyone of you thaqarayabaw (offers) an qaraban (offering) to Yahawah (), you shall qarab (come close) your qaraban (offering) of the livestock, from the baqar (morning) and from the tzaan (flock).

3 “‘If his qaraban (offering) is a burnt ilah (offering) from the baqar (morning), he shall qarab (come close) a zakar (remember) thamayam (complete / whole) blemish. He shall qarab (come close) it at the pathach (door) of the ahal (tent) of Meeting, that he may be panayam (face) before Yahawah ().

4 He shall samak (lay) his yad (hand) on the raash (head) of the burnt ilah (offering), and it shall be ratzah (accepted) for him to make kapar (atonement) for him.

5 He shall shachat (kill) the bull panayam (face) Yahawah (). Aharawan (Aaron's) banay (sons), the kahanayam (priests), shall qarab (come close) the dam (blood) and zaraq (sprinkle) the dam (blood) around on the mazabach (altar) that is at the pathach (door) of the ahal (tent) of Meeting.

6 He shall pashat (flay) the burnt ilah (offering), and nathach (cut) it into nathach (pieces).

7 The banay (my son) of Aharawan (Aaron) the kahan (priest) shall nathan (give) ash (fire) on the mazabach (altar), and lay itz (wood) in irak (order) on the ash (fire);

8 And Aharawan (Aaron's) banay (my son), the kahanayam (priests), shall irak (lay) the pieces, the raash (head), and the padar (fat) in irak (order) on the itz (wood) that is on the ash (fire) which is on the mazabach (altar);

9 But its innards and its karai (legs) he shall rachatz (wash) with mayam (Waters). The kahan (priest) shall qatar (burn) the whole on the mazabach (altar), for a burnt ilah (offering), an ashah (fire / offering made by fire) made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Yahawah ().

10 “‘If his qaraban (offering) is from the tzaan (flock), from the sheep, or from the izayam (goats), for a burnt ilah (offering), he shall qarab (come close) a zakar (remember) thamayam (complete / whole) blemish.

11 He shall shachat (kill) it on the tzapawan (north) yarak (side) of the mazabach (altar) panayam (face) Yahawah (). Aharawan (Aaron's) banay (sons), the kahanayam (priests), shall zaraq (sprinkle) its dam (blood) around on the mazabach (altar).

12 He shall nathach (cut) it into its nathach (pieces), with its raash (head) and its padar (fat). The kahan (priest) shall irak (lay) them in order on the itz (wood) that is on the ash (fire) which is on the mazabach (altar),

13 But the innards and the karaiyam (legs) he shall rachatz (wash) with mayam (Waters). The kahan (priest) shall qarab (come close) the whole, and qatar (burn) it on the mazabach (altar). It is a burnt ilah (offering), an ashah (fire / offering made by fire) made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Yahawah ().

14 “‘If his ilah (offering) to Yahawah () is a burnt ilah (offering) of iwap (flying), then he shall qarab (come close) his qaraban (offering) of turtledoves, or of ban (son) yawanah (pigeons).

15 The kahan (priest) shall qarab (come close) it to the mazabach (altar), and malaq (wring) off its raash (head), and qatar (burn) it on the mazabach (altar); and its dam (blood) shall be drained out on the qayar (side) of the mazabach (altar);

16 And he shall sawar (take) away its maraah (crop) with its filth, and shalak (cast) it beside the mazabach (altar) on the qadam (east) part, in the maqawam (place) of the ashes.

17 He shall tear it by its kanap (wings), but shall not badal (separated) it apart. The kahan (priest) shall qatar (burn) it on the mazabach (altar), on the itz (wood) that is on the ash (fire). It is a burnt ilah (offering), an ashah (fire / offering made by fire) made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Yahawah ().
