2 “Qawam (rise up), yalak (go) to Nayanawah (Nineveh), that gadawal (very great/important/mighty) iyar (city), and qaraa (called) to it the message that I dabar (word / matter) you.”
3 So Yawanah (Jonah) qawam (rise up), and yalak (went) to Nayanawah (Nineveh), according to the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah (). Now Nayanawah (Nineveh) was an exceedingly gadawal (very great/important/mighty) iyar (city), shalawash (three) yamayam (days)’ mahalak (journey) across.
4 He chalal (began) to bawaa (bring) into the iyar (city) a yawam (day) mahalak (journey), and he qaraa (called) out, and amar (said), “In arabaiyam (forty) yawam (day), Nayanawah (Nineveh) will be overthrown!”
5 The anashay (people) of Nayanawah (Nineveh) aman (believe / have faith) Alahayam (); and they qaraa (called) a tzawam (fast), and labash (put) on sackcloth, from their greatest even to their qatan (small / young / least).
6 The news nagai (reached) the malak (king) of Nayanawah (Nineveh), and he qawam (rise up) from his kasaa (throne), and ibar (pass over/through) off his royal adarath (robe), kasah (covered) himself with sackcloth, and yashab (inhabit/dwell) in ashes.
7 He made a proclamation and amar (said) through Nayanawah (Nineveh) by the taim (decree) of the malak (king) and his gadawal (very great/important/mighty), amar (said), “Let neither adam (man) nor animal, baqar (morning) nor tzaan (flock), taim (taste) anything; let them not raih (feed), nor shathah (drinks) mayam (Waters);
8 But let them be kasah (covered) with sackcloth, both adam (man) and animal, and let them qaraa (called) chazaqah (mightily) to Alahayam (). Yes, let them shawab (turn back / repent) everyone from his rai (evil) darak (way), and from the chamas (violence) that is in his kap (hands).
9 Who yadai (knows) whether Alahayam () will not shawab (turn back / repent) and relent, and shawab (turn back / repent) shawab (turn back / repent) from his charawan (fierce) ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting), so that we might not abad (destroy / perish)?”
10 Alahayam () raah (see) their maishah (works), that they shawab (turn back / repent) from their rai (evil) darak (way). Alahayam () relented of the disaster which he dabar (word / matter) he would ishah (make) to them, and he didn't ishah (make) it.
