Zechariah 6 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 Again I nashaa (lift) up my iyan (eye), and raah (see / saw), and behold, arabai (four) marakabawath (chariots) yatzaa (go out / come out) out from between shanayam (two) harayam (mountains); and the harayam (mountains) were harayam (mountains) of nachashath (brass).

2 In the raashawan (first) marakabah (chariot) were adam (red) sawasayam (horses); in the shanay (second) marakabah (chariot) shachar (black) sawasayam (horses);

3 In the shalayashay (third) marakabah (chariot) laban (white) sawasayam (horses); and in the rabayaiy (fourth) marakabah (chariot) dappled sawasayam (horses), all of them powerful.

4 Then I asked the malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) who dabar (word / matter) with me, “What are these, my Adawan ()?”

5 The malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) inah (answer / respond) me, “These are the arabai (four) rachawath (winds) of the sky, which yatzaa (go out / come out) forth from yatzab (standing) before the Adawan () of all the aratz (Earth/land).

6 The one with the shachar (black) sawasayam (horses) yatzaayam (goes) out toward the tzapawan (north) aratz (Earth/land); and the laban (white) yatzaa (go out / come out) out achar (other) them; and the dappled yatzaa (go out / come out) forth toward the thayaman (south) aratz (Earth/land).”

7 The strong yatzaa (go out / come out) out, and baqash (sought) to yalak (go) that they might halak (move) back and forth through the aratz (Earth/land): and he amar (said), “yalak (go) around and through the aratz (Earth/land)!” So they halak (move) back and forth through the aratz (Earth/land).

8 Then he zaiq (called) to me, and dabar (word / matter) to me, amar (said), “raah (see / saw), those who yatzaa (go out / come out) toward the tzapawan (north) aratz (Earth/land) nawach (have) quieted my rawach (spirit / wind) in the tzapawan (north) aratz (Earth/land).”

9 The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to me, amar (spoke),

10 “Laqach (take / seize) of them of the gawalah (captivity), even of Chaladay (Heldai), of Tawabayah (Tobijah), and of Yadaiyah (Jedaiah); and bawaa (bring) the same yawam (day), and bawaa (bring) into the bayath (house) of Yaashayah (Josiah) the ban (son) of Tzapanayah (Zephaniah), where they bawaa (bring) come from Babal (Babylon).

11 Yes, laqach (take / seize) kasap (silver) and zahab (gold), and ishah (make) itarawath (crowns), and shawam (place / establish / appoint) them on the raash (head) of Yahawashawai (Joshua) the ban (son) of Yahawatzadaq (Jehozadak), the gadawal (very great/important/mighty) kahan (priest);

12 And amar (spoke) to him, amar (spoke), ‘Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies), “Behold, the ayash (man / husband) whose sham (name) is the tzamach (branch): and he shall tzamach (grow) up out of his place; and he shall banah (build) the hayakal (temple) of Yahawah ();

13 Even he shall banah (build) the hayakal (temple) of Yahawah (); and he shall nashaa (lift) the glory, and shall yashab (inhabit/dwell) and mashal (rule/have dominion) on his kasaa (throne); and he shall be a kahan (priest) on his kasaa (throne); and the itzah (counsel) of shalawam (peace / safety) shall be between them shanayam (two).

14 The itarath (crowns) shall be to Chalam (Helem), and to Tawabayah (Tobijah), and to Yadaiyah (Jedaiah), and to Chan (Hen) the ban (son) of Tzapanayah (Zephaniah), for a zakarawan (memorial) in the hayakal (temple) of Yahawah ().

15 Those who are rachawaq (far) off shall bawaa (come) and banah (build) in the hayakal (temple) of Yahawah (); and you shall yadai (know) that Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies) has shalach (send) me to you. This will happen, if you will shamai (hearken / hear) shamai (hearken / hear) the qawal (sound / voice) of Yahawah () your Alahayam ().”’”
