Numbers 34 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) to Mashah (Moses), amar (spoke),

2 “Tzawah (command) the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel), and amar (said) them, ‘When you bawaa (bring) into the aratz (Earth/land) of Kanain (Canaan) (this is the aratz (Earth/land) that shall napal (fall / be cast down) to you for an nachalah (inheritance), even the aratz (Earth/land) of Kanain (Canaan) according to its gabawalah (borders)),

3 Then your nagab (south) paah (quarter) shall be from the madabar (wilderness) of Tzan (Zin) along by the yad (hand) of Adawam (Edom), and your nagab (south) gabawal (border/boundary) shall be from the qatzah (end / extremity / border) of the malach (salt) yam (sea/waters) eastward;

4 And your gabawal (border/boundary) shall sabab (turn) about southward of the mailahaiqarabayam (ascent) of mailahaiqarabayam (akrabbim), and ibar (pass over/through) along to Tzan (Zin); and the thawatzaah (goings) out of it shall be southward of Qadash-Baranai (Kadesh Barnea); and it shall yatzaa (go out / come out) forth to Chatzaraadar (Hazar Addar), and ibar (pass over/through) along to Itzamawan (Azmon);

5 And the gabawal (border/boundary) shall sabab (turn) about from Itzamawan (Azmon) to the nachal (stream / river) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt), and the thawatzaah (goings) out of it shall be at the yam (sea/waters).

6 “‘For the western gabawal (border/boundary), you shall have the gadawal (very great/important/mighty) yam (sea/waters) and its gabawal (border/boundary): this shall be your yam (sea/waters) gabawal (border/boundary).

7 “‘This shall be your tzapawan (north) gabawal (border/boundary): from the gadawal (very great/important/mighty) yam (sea/waters) you shall mark out for you har (mountain) Har (mountain);

8 From har (mountain) Har (mountain) you shall mark out to the entrance of Chamath (Hamath); and the thawatzaath (goings) out of the gabawal (border/boundary) shall be at Tzadad (Zedad);

9 And the gabawal (border/boundary) shall yatzaa (go out / come out) forth to Zaparan (Ziphron), and the thawatzaah (goings) out of it shall be at Chatzar-Iyanan (Hazar Enan): this shall be your tzapawan (north) gabawal (border/boundary).

10 “‘You shall mark out your qadam (east) gabawal (border/boundary) from Chatzar-Iyanan (Hazar Enan) to Shapam (Shepham);

11 And the gabawal (border/boundary) shall yarad (go) down from Shapam (Shepham) to Rabalah (Riblah), on the qadam (east) side of Iyan (eye); and the gabawal (border/boundary) shall yarad (go) down, and shall machah (reach) to the kathap (side) of the yam (sea/waters) of Kanarawath (Chinnereth) eastward;

12 And the gabawal (border/boundary) shall yarad (go) down to the Yaradan (Jordan), and the thawatzaah (goings) out of it shall be at the malach (salt) yam (sea/waters). This shall be your aratz (Earth/land) according to its gabawalah (borders) around it.’”

13 Mashah (Moses) tzawah (commanded) the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel), amar (spoke), “This is the aratz (Earth/land) which you shall nachal (inherit) by gawaral (lot), which Yahawah () has tzawah (commanded) to nathan (give) to the thashai (nine) matawath (tribes), and to the chatzay (half) - matah (staff / rod / tribe);

14 For the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of the banay (my son) of raawabanay (reuben) according to their ab (father)’ bayath (house), and the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of the banay (my son) of gaday (gad) according to their ab (father)’ bayath (house), have laqach (take / seize), and the chatzay (half) - matah (staff / rod / tribe) of Manashah (Manasseh) have laqach (take / seize), their nachalah (inheritance):

15 The shanayam (two) matawath (tribes) and the chatzay (half) - matah (staff / rod / tribe) have laqach (take / seize) their nachalah (inheritance) ibar (beyond) the Yaradan (Jordan) at Yarayachaw (Jericho) eastward, toward the sunrise.”

17 “These are the shamawath (names) of the anashayam (men) who shall nachal (divide) the aratz (Earth/land) to you for inheritance: Alaizar (Eleazar) the kahan (priest), and Yahawashawai (Joshua) the ban (son) of Nawan (Nun).

18 You shall laqach (take / seize) achad (one) nashayaa (prince) of every matah (staff / rod / tribe), to nachal (divide) the aratz (Earth/land) for nachal (inheritance).

19 These are the shamawath (names) of the anashayam (men): Of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), Kalab (Caleb) the ban (son) of Yapanah (Jephunneh).

20 Of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of the banay (my son) of Shamaiwan (Simeon), Shamawaal (Shemuel) the ban (son) of Imayahawad (Ammihud).

21 Of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of Banayamayan (Benjamin), Alayadad (Elidad) the ban (son) of Kasalawan (Chislon).

22 Of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of the banay (my son) of Dan (Dan) a nashayaa (prince), Baqay (Bukki) the ban (son) of Yagalay (Jogli).

23 Of the banay (my son) of Yawasap (Joseph): of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of the banay (my son) of Manashah (Manasseh) a nashayaa (prince), Chanayaal (Hanniel) the ban (son) of apad (ephod).

24 Of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of the banay (my son) of Aparayam (Ephraim) a nashayaa (prince), Qamawaal (Kemuel) the ban (son) of Shapatan (Shiphtan).

26 Of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of the banay (my son) of Yashashakar (Issachar) a nashayaa (prince), Palatayaal (Paltiel) the ban (son) of Izan (Azzan).

27 Of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of the banay (my son) of Ashar (who/that) a nashayaa (prince), Achayahawad (Ahihud) the ban (son) of Shalamay (Shelomi).
