Deuteronomy 3 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Then we panah (turn), and ilah (go up / offer) up the darak (way) to Bashan (Bashan): and Iwag (Og) the malak (king) of Bashan (Bashan) yatzaa (go out / come out) out qaraah (against) us, he and all his im (nation / people), to malachamah (battle) at Adaraiy (Edrei).

Yahawah () amar (spoke) to me, “Don't yaraa (fear / be afraid) him; for I nathan (give) delivered him, and all his im (nation / people), and his aratz (Earth/land), into your yad (hand); and you shall ishah (make) to him as you ishah (make) to Sayachawan (Sihon) malak (king) of the Amaray (Amorites), who lived at Chashabawan (Heshbon).”

So Yahawah () our Alahayam () nathan (give) into our yad (hand) Iwag (Og) also, the malak (king) of Bashan (Bashan), and all his im (nation / people): and we nakah (struck) him until none was shaar (left) to him sharayad (remaining).

We lakad (took) all his iyar (cities) at that ith (time); there was not a qarayah (city / town) which we didn't laqach (take / seize) from them; shashayam (sixty) iyar (cities), all the chabal (region) of Aragab (Argob), the mamalakah (kingdom) of Iwag (Og) in Bashan (Bashan).

All these were irayam (cities) batzar (fortified) with gabah (high) chawamah (walls), dalathayam (gates), and barayach (bars); besides the unwalled irayam (towns) a maad (great) many.

We charam (utterly) destroyed them, as we ishah (make) to Sayachawan (Sihon) malak (king) of Chashabawan (Heshbon), charam (utterly) destroying every inhabited iyar (city), with the nashayam (women) and the little tap (ones).

But all the livestock, and the shalal (spoil) of the irayam (cities), we bazaz (took) for a prey to ourselves.

We laqach (take / seize) the aratz (Earth/land) at that ith (time) out of the yad (hand) of the shanayam (two) malakay (kings) of the Amaray (Amaray / Amorite) who were ibar (beyond) the Yaradan (Jordan), from the nachal (stream / river) of the Aranawan (Arnon) to har (mountain) Charamawan (Hermon).

(The Tzayadanay (Sidonians) qaraa (called) Charamawan (Hermon) Sharayawan (Sirion), and the Amaray (Amaray / Amorite) qaraa (called) it Shanayar (Senir).)

We took all the iray (cities) of the mayashawar (plain), and all Galaid (Gilead), and all Bashan (Bashan), to Salakah (Salecah) and Adaraiy (Edrei), iray (cities) of the mamalakah (kingdom) of Iwag (Og) in Bashan (Bashan).

(For only Iwag (Og) malak (king) of Bashan (Bashan) shaar (remained) of the yathar (remnant) of the Rapaa (Rephaim); behold, his irash (bedstead) was a irash (bedstead) of barazal (iron); isn't it in Rabah (Rabbah) of the banay (my son) of Imawan (Ammon)? Thashai (nine) amawath (cubits) was its arak (length), and arabai (four) amawath (cubits) its rachab (breadth), after the amah (cubit) of a ayash (man / husband).)

This aratz (Earth/land) we took in yarash (possession) at that ith (time): from Irawair (Aroer), which is by the nachal (stream / river) of the Aranawan (Arnon), and chatzay (half) the har (mountain) country of Galaid (Gilead), and its iyar (cities), nathan (give) I to the Raawabanay (Reubenites) and to the Gaday (Gadites):

And the yathar (rest) of Galaid (Gilead), and all Bashan (Bashan), the mamalakah (kingdom) of Iwag (Og), nathan (give) I to the chatzay (half) - shabat (tribe) of Manashah (Manasseh); all the chabal (region) of Aragab (Argob), even all Bashan (Bashan). (The same is qaraa (called) the aratz (Earth/land) of Rapaa (Rephaim).

Yaayar (Jair) the ban (son) of Manashah (Manasseh) laqach (take / seize) all the chabal (region) of Aragab (Argob), to the gabawal (border/boundary) of the Gashawaray (Geshurites) and the Maikathay (Maacathites), and qaraa (called) them, even Bashan (Bashan), after his own sham (name), Havvoth Yaayar (Jair), to this yawam (day).)

I nathan (give) Galaid (Gilead) to Makayar (Machir).

To the Raawabanay (Reubenites) and to the Gaday (Gadites) I nathan (give) from Galaid (Gilead) even to the nachal (stream / river) of the Aranawan (Arnon), the thawak (midst) of the nachal (stream / river), and its gabawal (border/boundary), even to the nachal (stream / river) Yabaq (Jabbok), which is the gabawal (border/boundary) of the banay (my son) of Imawan (Ammon);

The irabah (arabah) also, and the Yaradan (Jordan) and its gabawal (border/boundary), from Kanarawath (Chinnereth) even to the yam (sea/waters) of the irabah (arabah), the malach (salt) yam (sea/waters), under the slopes of pasagah (pisgah) eastward.

I tzawah (commanded) you at that ith (time), amar (spoke), “Yahawah () your Alahayam () nathan (give) given you this aratz (Earth/land) to yarash (possess) it: you shall ibar (pass over/through) over chalatz (armed) panayam (face) your ach (brother/kinsman) the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel), all the banay (men) of valor.

But your wives, and your little tap (ones), and your livestock, (I yadai (know) that you rab (have) much livestock), shall live in your iyar (cities) which I nathan (give) given you,

Until Yahawah () gives nawach (rest) to your ach (brother/kinsman), as to you, and they also yarash (possess) the aratz (Earth/land) which Yahawah () your Alahayam () nathan (give) them ibar (beyond) the Yaradan (Jordan): then you shall shawab (turn back / repent) every ayash (man / husband) to his yarashah (possession), which I nathan (give) given you.”

I tzawah (commanded) Yahawashawai (Joshua) at that ith (time), amar (spoke), “Your iyan (eye) raah (see) seen all that Yahawah () your Alahayam () ishah (make) done to these shanayam (two) malakayam (kings): so shall Yahawah () ishah (make) to all the mamalakawath (kingdoms) where you ibar (pass over/through) over.

You shall not yaraa (fear / be afraid) them; for Yahawah () your Alahayam (), he it is who lacham (fights) for you.”

I begged Yahawah () at that ith (time), amar (spoke),

“Adanay () Yahawah (), you have chalal (begun) to show your ibad (servant) your gadal (greatness), and your chazaq (strong) yad (hand): for what Al is there in shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens) or in aratz (Earth/land), that can ishah (make) according to your maishah (works), and according to your gabawarah (mighty) acts?

Please let me ibar (pass over/through) over and raah (see / saw) the tawab (good / proper function) aratz (Earth/land) that is ibar (beyond) the Yaradan (Jordan), that goodly har (mountain), and Labanawan (Lebanon).”

But Yahawah () was angry with me for your sakes, and didn't shamai (hearken / hear) to me; and Yahawah () amar (spoke) to me, “Let it rab (suffice) you; dabar (word / matter) no more to me of this dabar (word / matter).

Ilah (go up / offer) up to the raash (head) of Pasagah (Pisgah), and nashaa (lift) up your iyan (eye) westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and raah (see / saw) with your iyan (eye): for you shall not ibar (pass over/through) over this Yaradan (Jordan).

But commission Yahawashawai (Joshua), and chazaq (encourage) him, and amatz (strengthen) him; for he shall ibar (pass over/through) over panayam (face) this im (nation / people), and he shall nachal (cause) them to inherit the aratz (Earth/land) which you shall raah (see / saw).”

So we stayed in the gayaa (valley) over mawal (against) Bayathapaiwar (Beth Peor).
