1 The banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel) ishah (make) that which was rai (evil) in the iyan (eye) of Yahawah (): and Yahawah () nathan (give) them into the yad (hand) of Madayan (Midian) shabai (seven) shanayam (years).
2 The yad (hand) of Madayan (Midian) izaz (prevailed) against Yashar-Al (Israel); and panayam (face) of Madayan (Midian) the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) ishah (make) them the manaharawath (dens) which are in the harayam (mountains), and the mairawath (caves), and the strongholds.
3 So it was, when Yashar-Al (Israel) had zarai (sown), that the Madayan (Midianites) ilah (go up / offer) up, and the Imalaq (Amalekites), and the banay (my son) of the qadam (east); they ilah (go up / offer) up against them;
4 And they chanah (encamped) against them, and shachath (destroyed) the yabawal (increase) of the aratz (Earth/land), until you bawaa (bring) to Izah (Gaza), and shaar (left) no machayah (sustenance) in Yashar-Al (Israel), neither shah (sheep), nor shawar (ox), nor donkey.
5 For they ilah (go up / offer) up with their livestock and their ahal (tents); they bawaa (bring) in as arabah (locusts) for rab (multitude); both they and their gamal (camels) were without masapar (number): and they bawaa (bring) into the aratz (Earth/land) to shachath (destroy) it.
6 Yashar-Al (Israel) was brought very dalal (low) panayam (face) of Madayan (Midian); and the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel) zaiq (cried) to Yahawah ().
7 It happened, when the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel) zaiq (cried) to Yahawah () awadawath (because) of Madayan (Midian),
8 That Yahawah () shalach (send) a ayash (man / husband) to the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel): and he amar (spoke) to them, “Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), ‘I ilah (go up / offer) you up from Matzarayam (Egypt), and yatzaa (go out / come out) you forth out of the bayath (house) of ibad (servant);
9 And I natzal (delivered) you out of the yad (hand) of the Matzaray (Egyptians), and out of the yad (hand) of all who lachatz (oppressed) you, and garash (drove) them out from panayam (face) you, and nathan (give) you their aratz (Earth/land);
10 And I amar (spoke) to you, “I am Yahawah () your Alahayam (); you shall not yaraa (fear / be afraid) the Alahayam () of the Amaray (Amorites), in whose aratz (Earth/land) you yashab (inhabit/dwell).” But you have not shamai (hearken / hear) to my qawal (sound / voice).’”
11 The malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) of Yahawah () bawaa (come), and yashab (inhabit/dwell) under the alah (oak / terebinth) which was in Iparah (Ophrah), that pertained to Yawaash (Joash) the abayahaizaray (abiezrite): and his ban (son) Gadaiwan (Gideon) was chabat (beating) out chatah (wheat) in the gath (winepress), to nawas (hide) it from the Madayan (Midianites).
12 The malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) of Yahawah () raah (see) to him, and amar (spoke) to him, “Yahawah () is with you, you gabawar (mighty) chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor) of valor!”
13 Gadaiwan (Gideon) amar (spoke) to him, “Oh, my Adawan (), if Yahawah () is with us, why then matzaa (has) all this happened to us? Where are all his wondrous palaa (be wonderful / extraordinary / marvelous) which our ab (father) sapar (book) us of, amar (spoke), ‘Didn't Yahawah () ilah (go up / offer) us up from Matzarayam (Egypt)?’ But now Yahawah () has natash (cast) us off, and nathan (give) us into the kap (hand) of Madayan (Midian).”

16 Yahawah () amar (spoke) to him, “nakah (surely) I will be with you, and you shall strike the Madayan (Midianites) as achad (one) ayash (man / husband).”
17 He amar (said) to him, “If now I matzaa (have) found favor in your iyan (eye), then show me a awath (sign / mark / miracle) that it is you who dabar (word / matter) with me.
18 Please don't mawash (go) away, until I bawaa (bring) to you, and yatzaa (go out / come out) out my manachah (present), and yanach (lay) it panayam (face) you.” He amar (said), “I will wait until you shawab (turn) back.”
19 Gadaiwan (Gideon) bawaa (bring) in, and ishah (make) a young iz (goat), and unleavened matzawath (commandment) of an ayapah (ephah) of qamach (meal). He shawam (place / establish / appoint) the meat in a sal (basket) and he shawam (place / establish / appoint) the maraq (broth) in a parawar (pot), and yatzaa (go out / come out) it out to him under the alah (these), and nagash (presented) it.
20 The malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) of Alahayam () amar (spoke) to him, “laqach (take / seize) the meat and the unleavened matzawath (cakes), and yanach (lay) them on halaz (this) salai (rock), and shapak (pour) out the maraq (broth).” He ishah (make) so.
21 Then the malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) of Yahawah () shalach (send) out the qatzah (end / extremity / border) of the mashainah (staff) that was in his yad (hand), and nagai (touched) the meat and the unleavened matzawath (cakes); and ash (fire) ilah (go up / offer) up out of the tzawar (rock), and akal (eat) the meat and the unleavened matzawath (cakes); and the malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) of Yahawah () departed out of his iyan (eye).
22 Gadaiwan (Gideon) raah (see) that he was the malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) of Yahawah (); and Gadaiwan (Gideon) amar (spoke), “ahah (alas), Adawan () Yahawah ()! Because I raah (see) seen the malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) of Yahawah () panayam (face) to panayam (face)!”
23 Yahawah () amar (spoke) to him, “shalawam (peace / safety) be to you! Don't be yaraa (fear / be afraid). You shall not mawath (death).”
24 Then Gadaiwan (Gideon) banah (build) an mazabach (altar) there to Yahawah (), and qaraa (called) it “Yahawah () is Peace.” To this yawam (day) it is still in Iparah (Ophrah) of the abayahaizaray (abiezrites).
25 It happened the same layal (night), that Yahawah () amar (spoke) to him, “laqach (take / seize) your ab (father) shawar (bull), even the shanay (second) shawar (bull) shabai (seven) shanayam (years) old, and haras (throw) down the mazabach (altar) of Bail (Baal) that your ab (father) has, and cut down the Asharah (Asherah) that is by it;
26 And banah (build) an mazabach (altar) to Yahawah () your Alahayam () on the raash (head) of this stronghold, in an orderly mairakah (way), and laqach (take / seize) the shanay (second) par (bull), and ilah (go up / offer) a burnt ilah (go up / offer) with the itz (wood) of the Asharah (Asherah) which you shall karath (cut) down.”
27 Then Gadaiwan (Gideon) laqach (take / seize) ishar (ten) anashayam (men) of his ibad (servant), and ishah (make) as Yahawah () had dabar (word / matter) to him: and it happened, because he yaraa (fear / be afraid) his ab (father) bayath (house) and the anashayam (men) of the iyar (city), so that he could not ishah (make) it by yawamam (by day), that he ishah (make) it by layal (night).
28 When the anashay (men) of the iyar (city) arose shakam (early) in the baqar (morning), behold, the mazabach (altar) of Bail (Baal) was nathatz (broken) down, and the Asharah (Asherah) was cut down that was by it, and the shanay (second) par (bull) was ilah (go up / offer) on the mazabach (altar) that was banah (build).
29 They amar (said) ayash (man / husband) to rai (neigbor/another person), “Who ishah (make) done this thing?” When they darash (inquired) and baqash (asked), they amar (said), “Gadaiwan (Gideon) the ban (son) of Yawaash (Joash) ishah (make) done this thing.”
30 Then the anashay (men) of the iyar (city) amar (said) to Yawaash (Joash), “yatzaa (go out / come out) out your ban (son), that he may mawath (death), because he has nathatz (broken) down the mazabach (altar) of Bail (Baal), and because he has karath (cut) down the Asharah (Asherah) that was by it.”
31 Yawaash (Joash) amar (spoke) to all who imad (stood) against him, “Will you rayab (contend) for Bail (Baal)? Or will you yashai (salvation) him? He who will rayab (contend) for him, let him be put to mawath (death) by baqar (morning). If he is a Alahayam (), let him rayab (contend) for himself, because someone has nathatz (broken) down his mazabach (altar).”
32 Therefore on that yawam (day) he qaraa (called) him Yarabail (Jerub-Baal), amar (said), “Let Bail (Baal) rayab (contend) against him, because he has nathatz (broken) down his mazabach (altar).”
33 Then all the Madayan (Midianites) and the Imalaq (Amalekites) and the banay (my son) of the qadam (east) asap (assembled) themselves yachad (together); and they ibar (pass over/through) over, and chanah (encamped) in the imaq (valley) of Yazaraial (Jezreel).
34 But the rawach (spirit / wind) of Yahawah () labash (came) on Gadaiwan (Gideon); and he thaqai (blow / sound alarm) a shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn); and Abayaizar (Abiezer) was zaiq (gathered) together achar (other) him.
35 He shalach (send) malaakayam (messengers) throughout all Manashah (Manasseh); and they also were zaiq (gathered) together achar (other) him: and he shalach (send) malaakayam (messengers) to Ashar (who/that), and to Zabawalawan (Zebulun), and to Napathalay (Naphtali); and they ilah (go up / offer) up to qaraah (meet) them.
36 Gadaiwan (Gideon) amar (spoke) to Alahayam (), “If you yash (will) yashai (salvation) Yashar-Al (Israel) by my yad (hand), as you have dabar (word / matter),
37 Behold, I will yatzag (put) a gazah (fleece) of tzamar (wool) on the garan (threshing) floor; if there is tal (dew) on the gazah (fleece) only, and it is charab (dry) on all the aratz (Earth/land), then shall I yadai (know) that you will yashai (salvation) Yashar-Al (Israel) by my yad (hand), as you have dabar (word / matter).”
38 It was so; for he shakam (rose) up early on the next macharath (day), and pressed the gazah (fleece) zawar (together), and wrung the tal (dew) out of the gazah (fleece), a sapal (bowl) malaa (full) of mayam (Waters).
39 Gadaiwan (Gideon) amar (spoke) to Alahayam (), “Don't let your ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) be charah (hot with anger) against me, and I will dabar (word / matter) but paim (this) once. Please let me make a trial just paim (this) once with the gazah (fleece). Let it now be charab (dry) only on the gazah (fleece), and on all the aratz (Earth/land) let there be tal (dew).”
40 Alahayam () ishah (make) so that layal (night): for it was charab (dry) on the gazah (fleece) only, and there was tal (dew) on all the aratz (Earth/land).
