1 The nair (child) Shamawaal (Samuel) sharath (ministered) to Yahawah () panayam (face) Ilay (Eli). The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () was yaqar (precious) in those yamayam (days); there was no frequent chazawan (vision).
2 It happened at that yawam (day), when Ilay (went up) was shakab (laid) down in his maqawam (place) (now his iyan (eye) had chalal (begun) to grow kahah (dim), so that he yakal (could) not raah (see / saw)),
3 And the nayar (lamp) of Alahayam () hadn't yet kabah (gone) out, and Shamawaal (Samuel) had shakab (laid) down in the hayakal (temple) of Yahawah (), where the arawan (ark) of Alahayam () was;
4 That Yahawah () qaraa (called) Shamawaal (Samuel); and he amar (spoke), “Here I am.”
5 He rawatz (ran) to Ilay (went up), and amar (said), “Here I am; for you amar (said) me.” He said, “I didn't qaraa (called); shakab (lie) down again.” He yalak (went) and shakab (lay) down.
6 Yahawah () qaraa (called) yet again, “Shamawaal (Samuel)!” Shamawaal (Samuel) qawam (rise up) and yalak (went) to Ilay (Eli), and amar (spoke), “Here I am; for you qaraa (called) me.” He amar (spoke), “I didn't qaraa (called), my ban (son); shakab (lie) down again.”
7 Now Shamawaal (Samuel) didn't yet yadai (know) Yahawah (), neither was the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () yet galah (revealed) to him.
8 Yahawah () qaraa (called) Shamawaal (Samuel) again the shalayashay (third) time. He qawam (rise up) and yalak (went) to Ilay (Eli), and amar (spoke), “Here I am; for you qaraa (called) me.” Ilay (Eli) bayan (between) that Yahawah () had qaraa (called) the nair (child).
9 Therefore Ilay (Eli) amar (spoke) to Shamawaal (Samuel), “yalak (go), shakab (lie) down: and it shall be, if he qaraa (called) you, that you shall amar (spoke), ‘dabar (word / matter), Yahawah (); for your ibad (servant) shamai (hearken / hear).’” So Shamawaal (Samuel) yalak (went) and shakab (lay) down in his maqawam (place).
10 Yahawah () bawaa (come), and yatzab (stood), and qaraa (called) as at other paim (times), “Shamawaal (Samuel)! Shamawaal (Samuel)!” Then Shamawaal (Samuel) amar (spoke), “dabar (word / matter); for your ibad (servant) shamai (hearken / hear).”
11 Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Shamawaal (Samuel), “Behold, I will ishah (make) a thing in Yashar-Al (Israel), at which shanayam (two) the azan (ear) of everyone who shamai (hearken / hear) it shall tzalal (tingle).
12 In that yawam (day) I will qawam (rise up) against Ilay (went up) all that I have dabar (word / matter) al (toward) his bayath (house), from the beginning even to the kalah (complete / finish).
13 For I have nagad (told) him that I will shapat (judge / judgement) his bayath (house) iwalam (eternity), for the iwan (guilt/iniquity) which he yadai (knew), because his ban (son) brought a qalal (curse) on themselves, and he didn't kahah (restrain) them.
14 Therefore I have shabai (swear / take oath) to the bayath (house) of Ilay (went up), that the iwan (guilt/iniquity) of Ilay (went up) bayath (house) shall not be removed with zabach (sacrifice) nor zabach (offering) iwalam (eternity).”
15 Shamawaal (Samuel) shakab (lay) until the baqar (morning), and pathach (opened) the dalathawath (doors) of the bayath (house) of Yahawah (). Shamawaal (Samuel) yaraa (fear / be afraid) to show Ilay (Eli) the maraah (vision).
16 Then Ilay (went up) qaraa (called) Shamawaal (Samuel), and amar (said), “Shamawaal (Samuel), my ban (son)!” He amar (said), “Here I am.”
17 He amar (spoke), “dabar (word / matter) is the thing that he has dabar (word / matter) to you? Please don't kachad (hide) it from me. Alahayam () ishah (make) so to you, and more also, if you kachad (hide) anything from me of all the things that he dabar (word / matter) to you.”
18 Shamawaal (Samuel) nagad (told) him every bit, and kachad (hid) nothing from him. He amar (spoke), “It is Yahawah (). Let him ishah (make) what seems tawab (good / proper function) to him.”
19 Shamawaal (Samuel) gadal (grew), and Yahawah () was with him, and let none of his dabar (word / matter) napal (fall / be cast down) to the aratz (Earth/land).
20 All Yashar-Al (Israel) from Dan (Dan) even to Baar-Shabai (Beersheba) yadai (knew) that Shamawaal (Samuel) was aman (believe / have faith) to be a nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) of Yahawah ().
21 Yahawah () raah (see) again in Shayalah (Shiloh); for Yahawah () galah (revealed) himself to Shamawaal (Samuel) in Shayalah (Shiloh) by the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah ().
