Hezekiah's prayer after his recovery
Isaiah 38:9–20
Recovered from the sickness that should have taken him, Chazaqayah writes of the gates of death and the living who praise.
9 The makathab (writing) of Chazaqayah (Hezekiah) malak (king) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), when he had been chalah (afflict), and had chayah (recovered) of his chalay (sickness).
10 I amar (said), “In the middle of my yawam (day) I yalak (go) into the shairay (gates) of shaawal (Sheol / afterlife). I am deprived of the yathar (residue) of my shanah (years).”
11 I amar (spoke), “I won't raah (see) Yah (), Yah () in the aratz (Earth/land) of the chay (life). I will nabat (see) adam (man) no more with the yawashabay (inhabitants) of the chadal (world).
12 My dwelling is nasai (removed), and is galah (carried) away from me like a shepherd's ahal (tent). I have rolled up, like a arag (weaver), my chay (life). He will batzai (cut) me off from the loom. From yawam (day) even to layal (night) you will shalam (make) an end of me.
13 I waited patiently until baqar (morning). He shabar (breaks) all my itzam (bones) like a aray (lion). From yawam (day) even to layal (night) you will shalam (make) an end of me.
14 I tzapap (chattered) like a igawar (swallow) or a sawas (crane). I moaned like a yawanah (dove). My iyan (eye) weaken looking marawam (upward). Adawan (), I am ishaqah (oppressed). Be my security.”
15 What will I dabar (word / matter)? He has both amar (said) to me, and himself ishah (make) done it. I will walk carefully all my shanah (years) because of the anguish of my napash (soul).
16 Adanay (), men chayah (live) by these things; and my rawach (spirit / wind) finds chay (life) in all of them: you chalam (dream) me, and cause me to chayah (live).
17 Behold, for shalawam (peace / safety) I had mar (great) anguish, but you have in chashaq (love) for my napash (soul) delivered it from the shachath (pit) of balay (corruption); for you have shalak (cast) all my chataa (sins) achar (other) your gaw (back).
18 For shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) can't yadah (praise) you. Mawath (death) can't halal (praise) you. Those who yarad (go) down into the bawar (pit) can't shabar (hope) for your amath (truth).
19 The chay (life), the chay (life), he shall yadah (praise) you, as I do this yawam (day). The ab (father) shall yadai (make) known your amath (truth) to the banayam (children).
20 Yahawah () will yashai (salvation) me. Therefore we will sing my naganawathay (songs) with nagan (stringed) instruments all the yamay (days) of our chay (life) in the bayath (house) of Yahawah ().
