Prayer of Jabez
1 Chronicles 4:9–10
Two verses in the genealogies of Yahawadah: a man more honourable than his brothers asks for blessing, a larger border, and a hand kept from evil.
9 WaYaHayah (And came to pass) Yaibatz (Jabez) NaKabad (Harden / Honor) MaAchayaw (more honorable than his brothers): WaAmaw (and his mother) Qaraah (called) Shamaw (his named) Yaibatz (Jabez), LaAmar (saying), “KayaYaladathay (surely bore) BaItzab (with sorrow).”
10 WaYaQaraa (And called) Yaibatz (Jabez) LaAlahayam (God) Yashar-Al (Israel), LaAmar (saying), “Am-Barak (although - rhetorical Oh blessed) ThaBarakay (you me), WaHaRabahayath (and you [causing] enlarge) Ath-Gabawalay (the entirety of my border), WaHayahathah (and came to pass) Yadak (your hand), Imay (with me) WaIshahayath (and you keep) MaRaih (from evil)!” LaBalathay (sorrow)! Itzabay (grief / pain / hurt me) WaYaBawaa (and granted) Alahayam (God) AthaAshar-YaShaal (the entirety of who/that he requested).
