Prayer of Manasseh
Prayer of Manasseh 1:1–14
The penitential prayer of the king who filled Yarawashalam with idols: bowed down with iron bands, he asks the God of the righteous for the repentance he has promised sinners.
1 O Adanay (), Al Shaday () of our ab (fathers), Abaraham (), Yatzachaq (Isaac), and Yaiqab (), and of their tzadayaq (righteous) zarai (seed);
2 ashar (who/that) have ishah (make) shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens) and aratz (Earth/land), with all the ornament thereof;
3 ashar (who/that) have asayaray (bound) the yam (sea) by the dabar (word / matter) of your matzawah (commandment); who have sagar (shut) up the thahawam (depths), and chatham (sealed) it by your yaraa (terrible) and kabad (glorious) sham (name);
4 whom all matham (men) yaraa (fear), and tremble before your kach (power); for the majesty of your kabawad (glory) cannot be borne, and your angry threatening toward chataayam (sinners) is importable:
5 but your rachawam (merciful) awamar (promise) is unmeasurable and unsearchable;
6 for athah (you) are the most ilayawan (high) Adanay (), of rab (great) racham (compassion), longsuffering, very chasad (merciful), and nacham (repent) of the rai (evils) of ban (men). Athah (You), O Adanay (), man (according) to your kabad (great) goodness have awamar (promised) nacham (repentance) and forgiveness to them that have chataa (sinned) against you: and of your infinite racham (mercies) have shawam (appointed) nacham (repentance) to chataayam (sinners), that they may be yashach (saved).
7 Athah (You) therefore, O Adanay (), that art the Alahayam () of the just, have not shawam (appointed) nacham (repentance) to the just, as to Abaraham (), and Yatzachaq (Isaac), and Yaiqab (), which have not chataa (sinned) against athah (you); but you have chaq (appointed) nacham (repentance) to me that am a chataa (sinner): cb
8 for I have chataa (sinned) above the manaay (number) of the chawal (sands) of the yam (sea). My pashai (transgressions), O Adanay (), are rab (multiplied): my pashai (transgressions) are rabah (multiplied), and I am not ban (worthy) to hanah (behold) and raah (see) the height of shamayam (heaven) for the amawan (multitude) of mine rashai (iniquities).
9 I am shachach (bowed) down with kabad (many) iron raash (head), that I cannot nashaa (lift) up mine barazal (head), neither have any shamatah (release): for I have provoked your chamah (wrath), and done raii (evil) before you: I ishah (make) laa (NOT) your will, neither shamar (keep/guard) I your matzawah (commandments): I have qawam (rise up) up thawaibah (abominations), and have rabah (multiplied) chataa (offences).
10 Ithah (now / present moment) therefore I bow the barak (blessed) of mine labab (heart), beseeching you of chan (favor).
11 I have chataa (sinned), O Adanay (), I have chataa (sinned), and I yadai (acknowledge) mine iwan (iniquities):
12 therefore, I humbly chanan (beseech) athah (you), salach (forgive) me, O Adanay (), salach (forgive) me, and shachath (destroy) me not with mine iniquites. Be not angry with me for ever, by reserving rai (evil) for me; neither rashai (condemn) me to the thachathay (lower) nathachay (parts) of the aratz (earth). For athah (you) are the Alahayam (), haa (even) the Alahayam () of them that nacham (repent);
13 and in me you will racham (show mercy / love) all your tawab (good / proper function): for you will yashai (salvation) me, that am unworthy, man (from) to your rab (great) racham (show mercy / love).
14 Therefore I will halal (praise) you for ever all the yamayam (days) of my chay (life): for all the kach (powers) of the shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens) do halal (praise) you, and your is the kabawad (glory) for ever and ever. Aman (believe / have faith).
