Prayer of Mordecai
Greek Esther 13:8–17
Mardocheus, having refused to bow to Aman, calls on the Malak (King) Shaday not to let the mouths of those who praise him be shut.
8 Then Mardocheus sabar (thought) upon all the maishah (works) of Yahawah (), and made his palal (prayer) to him,
9 Amar (Saying), O Adanay (), Adanay (), the Malak (King) Shaday (): for the shalam (whole) thabal (world) is in your kach (power), and if you have chaq (appointed) to yashai (save) Yashar-Al (Israel), there is no adam (man) that can gainsay you:
10 For you have made shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens) and aratz (Earth/land), and all the wondrous things under the shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens).
11 You are Adanay () of all things, and and there is no adam (man) that can resist you, which art Yahawah ().
12 You yawadain (know) all things, and you yawadain (know), Adanay (), that it was neither in bawaz (contempt) nor pride, nor for any chamadahath (desire) of kabawad (glory), that I ishah (did) not bow down to proud Aman.
13 For I could have been yaal (content) with tawab (good) will for the yashawaih (salvation) of Yashar-Al (Israel) to nashaq (kiss) the kapawath (soles) of his ragalay (feet).
14 But I ishah (did) this, that I might not prefer the kabawad (glory) of adam (man) above the kabawad (glory) of Alahayam (): neither will I shachah (worship) any but you, O Alahayam (), neither will I do it in pride.
15 And now, O Yahawah () Alahayam () and Malak (King), spare your im (people): for their iyan (eyes) are upon us to sabab (bring) us to nought; yea, they chamadahath (desire) to shachath (destroy) the nachalah (inheritance), that has been your from the az (beginning).
16 Despise not the chalaq (portion), which you have malat (delivered) out of Matzarayam (Egypt) for your own self.
17 Shamai (Hear) my palal (prayer), and be rachawam (merciful) to your nachalah (inheritance): shawab (turn) our sorrow into mashawash (joy), that we may chayay (live), O Adanay (), and halal (praise) your sham (name): and shachath (destroy) not the pah (mouths) of them that halal (praise) you, O Adanay ().
